Salute To The General -
Chapter 2377
Marshall put on his black coat and walked toward his Cadillac with a black briefcase in his hand.
Click!
He opened the trunk before putting the briefcase in it.
When everything was ready, he sat down in the driver's seat, ready to drive off. However, just as he sat down, the door opened on the other side of the car, and someone entered.
Marshall was unnerved. It was none other that the man he was supposed to be hunting.
Nathan Cross! I thought the Hyenas would have gotten him.
He was startled when he saw the man right before his eyes.
I can't believe he's still alive! That means that the Hyenas are all dead then.
Marshall sat frozen as he stared at Nathan.
Should I act first, or should I wait for him to do something?
Unlike Marshall, Nathan did not seem bothered at all. He made himself cozy in the car as if he was sitting in his own.
Instead of looking at Marshall, he directed his gaze toward the road as he spoke calmly. "Come on. Start the car and drive. You might want to go somewhere quiet so I can bury you there, or if you like, you can bury me after you kill me." "It's my job to kill, not to bury." Marshall spoke in articulate English.
Marshall was aware that he was on Nathan's turf, so he did not want to initiate a full-fledged confrontation with him. He did not want to get caught in a tricky situation when other people came to Nathan's help, so he did as he was told. He stepped on the pedal, and the car shot off.
Marshall's driving skills were impeccable. His car darted down the street as he drove away from the city center and toward the outskirts.
There were fewer cars and people as they drove closer to the suburbs.
While he was driving, Marshall kept glancing at Nathan, thinking about when would be a good time to attack him.
Nathan took out a lighter leisurely and lighted a cigarette. "So," he said, puffing a mouthful of smoke, "Ariarica sent you?"
His question was met with Marshall's foot abruptly slamming down on the brakes.
Screech!
A piercing sound rang out as the car skidded violently, leaving behind black tire marks on the tar road.
Amidst the chaos, Marshall reached for his gun and shot in Nathan's direction, but the latter was swifter than he expected.
With his left hand, he seized Marshall's gun and pointed it upward.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Three bullets broke through the car roof, riddling it with holes.
Nathan's speed was beyond Marshall's comprehension. He freed his left hand from the wheel and punched Nathan, who, in return, grabbed Marshall's fist with his own hand before elbowing him in the face. Crack!
Marshall's left cheekbone shattered, and blood oozed out of his mouth. If the same were to happen to other fighters, they would have met their death, but Marshall was the strongest among all the first-generation supersoldiers from Ariarica's Project Genesis. They did not call him the Arch Fighter for nothing.
His pain receptors had been removed so he could not feel any pain.
Besides, given his power, Nathan's blow was not fatal to him. On the contrary, it triggered his instincts to conquer Nathan.
Pouncing on Nathan, a fight ensued in the narrow interior of the car.
Thud! Thump!
An onslaught unfolded between the two sturdy men, like two wild beasts fighting for dominance. Dents littered the car from the impact of their blows, and all the windows had been shattered.
At last, everything stilled, signaling the end of their fight.
Colin and the Elite Eight pulled up in two Jeeps at that moment.
The five of them hurried over, wondering what had happened in the car at the roadside.
The front door beside the passenger's seat was kicked open before Nathan emerged unscathed, with half a cigarette still in his mouth.
He sucked deeply and looked at his men. "Clear up everything and send them back to where they came from. Eurasia doesn't accept trash on its land."
"Yes, sir!"
