Salute To The General
Chapter 2379

After the conversation ended, a soldier came over and whispered something in Colin's ears.

Colin turned toward Nathan after a nod. "Sir, the hackers have sent news that they have locked on to the general location of that person."

""Where?"

"Jazona, Jetroina."

Nathan frowned. "But the person talked to me in English. He must be from Eurasia. Why is he in Jetroina?" "I have no idea," Colin said with a bitter chuckle. "But our professional hackers would never get this wrong. It's just that his number is heavily-protected, so we had to mobilize our best technologies to pinpoint his location. We don't know exactly where he is, but we have a rough idea."

"That's good enough. It won't be easy looking for him. We can look into this later as we're not in a rush."

"Yes, sir."

Colin and Nathan arrived in Brimmopolis in the afternoon.

Sage came with the Felidae Battalion to pick them up.

After Nathan got back to the Headquarters of the Chief Military Governor, he went straight to his office.

Right after he was seated, a knock came from the door. "Sir, the President is here."

WhattThe President is here in person?

Nathan quickly went to greet him along with Colin and Sage.

They ran into the President and his subordinates when they were at the door. He was dressed in a white shirt and a black jacket.

"Mr. President," Nathan greeted with a salute.

Garrett approached him and pulled down Nathan's hand. "You should've told me you were coming back. I've come here a few times hoping I could see you, but you're always not around," he said endearingly with a smile.

"I have been busy lately. The enemies are ever watching. They've conducted a few rounds of deterrent military drills around our territory. The South Army is especially under pressure, so I've been spending most of my time in the South talking to Zach Hill, the commander- in-chief, about how we should recalibrate to face potential threats and challenges."

Garrett smiled. "I thank you on our people's behalf. They are fortunate to have a Chief Military Governor like you. By the way, have you heard that the former God of War, Cayden Quillen is coming back? We lost touch with him in the past twenty years. I'm glad we finally found him. It would be a coveted addition to the army if he were to return to the military."

"I heard. I've already arranged for a reception ceremony to welcome him home," Nathan answered as he gestured at his guests to enter.

They were ushered into the grand hall at the Headquarters of the Chief Military Governor.

They sat down according to the usual arrangements laid out by the country's seating etiquette.

After having some small talk, Garrett went on to reveal the intention of his visit that day.

"Nathan, General Quillen used to be the God of War in the army twenty years ago. His exceptional service to the people earned him everyone's respect. He's now in his fifties or sixties, but he's not too old to serve in the army still. What do you think about giving him a military post?"

"What do you have in mind, Mr. President? I will do as you say."

"Oh, come on. You know I take care of things on the administration side. You're the one who overlooks the army. You should be the person who has the final say."

Nathan fell into deep thoughts. "It's true that General Quillen has made a tremendous contribution to the country. I agree with you that he should continue serving the army when he returns."

"That's what I thought too," Garrett replied with a wide smile. "But it's completely up to you which post you want to assign him to. After all, he was the commander-in-chief twenty years ago. I am sure he has what it takes to shoulder whatever responsibility you entrust to him. However, I have to say whatever position you give him must be fitting to his reputation. We don't want him to feel like we're putting him in a humble station."
