Salute To The General
Chapter 2485

At the Headquarters of the Chief Military Governor in Brimmopolis.

Nathan's eyes bulged after he heard Sage's report.

"What? Lucas went to Volk alone again to avenge his dead comrades? Has he gone crazy?"

Sage said, "He's not mad. His team of elites had mostly perished in the battle, so that was a huge blow to him. Besides, you've reminded him more than once, and he promised not to take action rashly. Despite his promise, he ended up making the mistake. I believe he is under immense pressure. He knows it is a huge mistake, and his comrades' deaths were too much for him to bear. Thus, he went all out and decided to go to Volk to risk his life to pay the price for his mistake."

Nathan's expression turned icy as he declared, "Nonsense! I thought he was capable of holding the fort after guarding the West for years. Alas, he's still a stubborn fool. How disappointing. How long has it been since his disappearance?"

Sage answered, "Three hours. After the West Army realized he was missing, they immediately reported to the Headquarters of the Chief Military Governor."

Nathan nodded. "He's alone, so I think it'll take him some time to arrive at the scene of the Eight-Nation Alliance's summit. Relay my order to the West Army. From today onward, the Headquarters of the Chief Military Governor shall take over. Without my order, no one is to take action rashly. Those who defy my order shall be punished by military law!"

Sage responded, "Yes!"

Nathan added, "Tell all regions to be on standby and prepare for war

anytime."

Sage nodded. "Got it."

"I'd like to lead a team of elites to enter Volk. Make the necessary arrangements," Nathan said.

What?

Sage didn't bother hiding his surprise. "Chief, why are you following Lucas' footsteps by acting recklessly? The representatives of the Eight-Nation Alliance have arrived at Volk to attend the second summit. You're an esteemed figure. How could you risk your life?" Colin and the rest instantly tried to talk Nathan out of it.

Before they could say anything, Nathan announced coolly, "I'm not acting recklessly or following Lucas' footsteps. He's a general guarding our border, so there is no reason to allow him to die at the summit."

After a pause to let that sink in, he added, "Besides, over there hundred soldiers died in Volk. We have to bring their bodies back, right? We can't let their bodies remain there and get tainted by the enemies, right?" Everyone fell silent, for Nathan was right.

Sage was still worried. "You're right, but the Eight-Nation Alliance includes Volk. They are at odds with us now. If you show up, they will definitely try to kill you without bothering with pleasantries!"

Nathan merely replied calmly, "They are just a bunch of clowns who aren't capable of killing me. I'll have to be wary of their planes, tanks, missiles, and similar high-tech weapons. Thus, I want you to come up with a thorough plan. You can attack Volk's satellites or order three thousand hackers to hack into their system. No matter what you do, I want an internet outage in the entire Volk. I want their planes and missiles to lose the ability to fly. By then, they'll have to give up on their high-tech weapons and rely on their swords and guns. There might be tens of thousands of Volkians, but they are no match for me."

Sage and the rest gaped in disbelief.

Colin asked, "Mr. Tomlinson, can you cause an internet outage in Volk as requested by the Chief?"

Sage contemplated on the matter. "By theory, we can do that. However, we need to mobilize our resources and people for the cyberwar with Volk."

Nathan declared decisively, "Make it

happen no matter how many resources we have to spend."

Sage nodded. "Got it. I'll get to it right away."
