Salute To The General -
Chapter 2514
Hank and Prudence were also stunned. Try as they may, they couldn't regain their composure because they thought Nathan was just bluffing. Nathan really is the Chief Military Governor! Right then, Nathan was still calm and collected as usual. He stood up and shook hands with Zach. "Hi, Zach. You're here too?"
Zach smiled and uttered, "Chief Military Governor, you're on a killing spree in Volk, and you've made the country proud! Now that you've returned, I obviously have to drink with you to celebrate."
Only then did Penny and her family replace out what Nathan was up to in the past few days. He's been through hell and back, and he's won!
Nathan had always been low-profile and disliked events such as celebratory parties. If any other of his subordinates were to approach him and celebrate with him, he would've punished them badly. However, this was Zach. Zach was different because not only was he the commander-in-chief of the South Army, but he was also the Maritime God of War of Eurasia. He was indeed one of the main pillars of the military.
Hence, unlike the others, Zach was to be respected.
"Well, it has been a while since I drank with you, Zach. Since it's such a lively scene, we should drink!" Nathan flashed a smile.
Zach burst into laughter and ordered his subordinates, "Quick! Bring in all the exquisite alcohol from the car! The Chief Military Governor and I are going to drink till we drop!"
"Yes, Admiral Hill!" The subordinates left to fetch the alcohol.
"Zach, hold on. I have something I need to settle first," Nathan uttered flatly.
With that, Nathan threw a glance at Zyon, who was cowering in fear.
"Are you still doubting my identity?" Nathan asked.
Zyon was so terrified that his knees had gone weak. He knelt on the ground and said with his trembling voice, "No. Not anymore... Chief Military Governor, I was too ignorant. I'm begging you to forgive me. Please."
"Where did your arrogance go?"
Nathan asked nonchalantly.
Zyon was quivering in fear, and he was suddenly banging his forehead against the floor. He cried, "I'm sorry, Chief Military Governor! Please forgive me. I was wrong! Please give me a second chance! Please!" Hank and Prudence both shook their heads furtively when they saw Zyon in the act.
Initially, they thought Zyon was someone influential, and they'd even planned to let their daughter marry him. Who would've known things would turn out this way? He was just insulting Nathan relentlessly a moment ago, and now he's bowing so embarrassingly. Hank and Prudence had lost all their respect for Zyon.
While Zyon was begging for forgiveness, Colin walked in hurriedly and said, "Mr. Cross, we can't let this fellow go free."
"Oh? Why so?" Nathan asked.
"We've already looked into him. This fellow isn't a captain of any Peacekeeping Forces. Instead, he was once just a puny mercenary overseas. He tried to apply to be a part of the Peacekeeping Forces, but failed to be selected due to his questionable reputation. Then, he got himself fake IDs and told everyone he was a captain of the Peacekeeping Forces. He has been spreading lies everywhere he went. I found out that he'd scammed a lot of money off of countless innocent girls," Colin answered.
Hearing that, Kylie, Penny, and their families widened their eyes in disbelief. He's the imposter and a scammer!
Kylie had never planned to have any sort of relationship with Zyon. Hence, she was just surprised when she heard about his atrocious acts.
On the other hand, Hank and Prudence were looking forward to pairing their daughter up with Zyon. So when they heard he was a scammer, they were both utterly terrified. Nathan gave Zyon a frosty stare and said, "At first, I wasn't going to be harsh on you. Now, considering the evil acts you've committed, you ought to suffer the consequences.
"Men, arrest him and send him to the authorities and make sure he got what he deserved," Nathan instructed.
"Yes, Chief Military Governor!" A few soldiers stepped forward and apprehended Zyon.
At that moment, Zyon was trembling in fear. His face had gone pale, and hopelessness could be seen in his eyes. As the soldiers were bringing him away, he knew he was done for. I'm so dead.
