Salute To The General
Chapter 2532

Gammon and Sofie conversed for a while longer before Sofie got up and took her leave.

Dante, who had been standing outside the door, escorted her back to her private chamber alongside a few other bodyguards.

While they walked, Dante gazed at Sofie surreptitiously, his eyes brimming with adulation.

Alas, Sofie obviously didn't notice his affectionate gaze, nor did she take him seriously. To her, he was probably just an ordinary subordinate of her father's. Disappointment swamped Dante.

After escorting her to the entrance of her private chamber, he excused himself.

Sofie simply waved a dismissive hand.

"Sure. You're all dismissed."

Having said that, she went into her private chamber with her two attendants.

As Dante stood rooted to the spot, staring at her back, he vaguely heard her saying to her two attendants, "Hehe, I wonder how that Chief

Military Governor of Eurasia will fare."

The instant he heard that, his expression changed slightly.

It dawned upon him that she must have gone to Eurasia's Chief Military Governor's quarters and even met the man.

Furthermore, it seemed that she had a good impression of the man and was even looking forward to seeing him again.

In a flash, not only was he gripped by jealousy, but he also burned with hostility toward Eurasia's Chief

Military Governor.

Clenching his hands into fists, he inwardly vowed, I'll definitely teach him a lesson should the opportunity arises!

The next morning, Nathan dressed neatly and followed the palace chief to see Gammon again.

Gammon had ordered the kitchen to prepare breakfast and invited Nathan to dine with him.

Nathan agreed readily.

Other than Gammon, a few other core family members of his were also present during the breakfast.

Nathan found an exceptionally beautiful and adorable Remdikian lady among them a tad familiar.

That lady was none other than Gammon's youngest daughter and the renowned little princess of Remdik, Sofie.

While Nathan ate, he wondered mentally, Don't tell me it was this little princess who spied on me last night?

Meanwhile, Gammon placidly remarked while eating breakfast, "Chief Cross, I've discussed your suggestion yesterday with the elders and generals last night. Some agreed, while some objected."

Picking up the milk on the table, Nathan took a small sip and responded mildly, "What do you personally think, Mr. Gammon?"

"I'd rather like to collaborate with Eurasia and dispatch some troops to conduct a military exercise with you. Regretfully, some are opposed to the idea as they are skeptical about your capabilities, Chief Cross. I wonder if you mind helping me allay their concern?" Gammon inquired.

"What do you propose, Mr. Gammon?" Nathan asked in return.

"I think it'll be good if you're willing to exhibit your skills and showcase your capabilities to these ignorant subordinates of mine. After witnessing your might, they'll surely agree to be your ally! Would you be willing to enlighten us, Chief Cross?" Gammon replied with a smile. Everyone present swung their gazes at Nathan.

Standing behind Nathan, Colin muttered soundlessly, Hah! Gammon the Great is still dubious about Mr. Cross' capability and wants to test him!

"How should I prove myself for you and your subordinates to believe me, Mr. Gammon?" Nathan queried calmly.

Chuckling heartily, Gammon answered, "That's easy! I'll gather the military officials and have them compete with you. There'll be two competitions-a wargame and a boxing match. If you can defeat my subordinates in either one, I'll agree to dispatch some troops to hold a joint military exercise with Eurasia and go against Ariarica. How about that?"

"Sure!" Nathan assented with a smirk.

Guffawing, Gammon exclaimed, "Great! I admire your decisiveness! Someone, gather all the elders and also top generals in the military at once. Have them come and learn from Chief Cross."
