Salute To The General
Chapter 2588

A while later, the sedan sped away and disappeared from sight.

Right after its departure, a few military vehicles showed up. They had received Franklin's order to clean the scene up.

Soon, Colin and the rest brought Dip to the Channing Military Base.

In Franklin's office, Nathan was sitting on a chair with his hand on his chin.

He turned the globe on the desk idly and stared at it.

Franklin and a few officers from Channing military district stood aside respectfully. They dared not even breathe loudly in fear of disturbing him. Suddenly, the sound of footsteps came from the corridor outside.

Callan strode in to report, "Sir, General Wilson. Colin has successfully captured Dip. He has just brought Dip back here."

Nathan stopped fiddling with the globe and looked up. "Tell Colin to bring him in," he ordered calmly.

"Yes, sir." Callan left to carry out his

order.

Shortly after, Colin and three of the Elite Eight escorted Dip into the office.

At the sight of him, Nathan flashed a smile. "How have you been, Mr.

Turner?"

Dip shuddered fearfully when he saw Nathan.

Inwardly, he was cursing nonstop. Can't he see the bloodstain on my clothes. How have I been? What kind of question is that? Isn't it obvious?

Of course, he dared not say his thoughts out loud.

Flashing a bitter smile, he uttered despondently, "Nathan, I can't believe I fell into your hands yet again." Nathan remained calm and responded, "Maybe you shouldn't have come back here in the first place then."

Dip said nothing. Wouldn't it be great if I actually have a choice?

Even though he was silent, Nathan seemed to see through him.

"You know, logically speaking, you should be smart enough not to return to seek revenge on me. So tell me, did someone order you to come back and kill me? Or did they force you to harm Sofie?" Nathan posed a question authoritatively. Hearing that, Dip was inwardly astonished.

However, his expression remained unfazed. "Nathan, you were the reason why I lost everything and had to leave my home. I despise you! No one gave me the order. I was the one that made the decision to return to seek revenge personally. I should be held responsible for my own actions. Since I'm unlucky enough to get caught, you can kill me or punish me if you want," he retorted, his tone betraying his impatience.

Hearing that, Nathan spoke in an impassive manner. "You can pretend to be calm, but don't forget that I'm a soldier. I often question spies and traitors. When a person recalls something, he will look left subconsciously. But if he's lying, his eyes will dart right subconsciously. Your eyes kept darting right earlier, so I'm certain that you were lying." His tone was confident.

Dip's expression changed instantly. "I didn't lie. You can kill me if you want," he insisted.

Nathan rested his chin on his palm and gazed at Dip in amusement.

He declared confidently, "Looks like the person behind you is powerful, huh? You're going to die, but you're still adamant about not revealing who the real mastermind is. If I'm not mistaken, your target this time is Sofie. That person ordered you to kill Sofie." Dip feigned ignorance. "I have no idea what you're talking about."

Nathan chuckled. "When I heard Sofie's name from Velimir, I've already had my suspicions. Was it an Ariarican who gave you the order?" Dip was about to reply in the negative when Nathan continued, "Don't say no hastily. Do you know who Sofie is? I am talking about her real identity."

A flash of shock appeared in Dip's eyes.

Nathan chuckled and said, "Looks like you have no idea know who Sofie is. You have the guts to harm her without even knowing her real identity, huh?"

The anxiety in Dip's heart heightened.

Nathan declared, "Well, let me tell you then. Sofie is Gammon the Great's youngest daughter, also his favorite daughter. Ariarica told you to kill her to destroy the friendly relationship between Erudia and Remdik. Have you ever thought about that if you succeed, even if I'm willing to let it slip, will Gammon the Great pardon you and your family?"

Sofie's the princess of Remdik? She's Gammon The Great's favorite daughter?

Dip was utterly dumbfounded. He collapsed to his knees weakly.
