Salute To The General -
Chapter 3022
Lothar looked at Nathan's disappointed face as the latter didn't say another word.
"Why did you stop talking?" Lothar asked in puzzlement.
Nathan said slowly, "People of different beliefs can't work together. I have nothing to say to you."
Lothar nodded in agreement. "At the end of discourse, there will be blades and swords; at the end of the blade, there will only be life or death. Unsheathe your sword. It's time for us to bring things to an end."
Nathan removed The Unsullied tied to his waist. Glancing at the sword once, he casually threw the sword along with its scabbard to the ground. Making a loud noise, the sword stabbed the hard ground and stood upright.
"You can draw your sword against friends or family, but I can't. I will not use weapons. And since you were the one who taught me my skills, I'll let you strike me thrice first."
Hearing that, Lothar couldn't hold back his laughter.
"Hahaha! When I became unparalleled in Eurasia, you were not even born yet. Moreover, I'm the one who taught you your martial arts skills. You actually have the courage to not use weapons and even let me strike thrice first? Do you know that I might be able to take your life within three strikes?"
Nathan answered calmly, "I owe you at least this. I'll accept my fate if you can kill me in three strikes. However, if you fail to do so, then we've even. I'll use everything I have to kill you. So, don't go easy on me."
As Lothar stared at Nathan, the former could not help but be impressed by the young man.
He chuckled. "As expected of my disciple, whom I had chosen the moment I laid eyes on that year. But it's too bad that we have differing stances. Now, the only path left for me is to destroy you with my own hands." Nathan lifted both his hands and flexed his arms.
Rip!
His shirt was ripped apart by his bulging muscles, and his scarred and brawny torso was revealed.
Anyone could feel the terrifying power hidden in Nathan's muscular body that was threatening to be unleashed.
With a sharp and determined gaze, he shouted, "Fight me!"
To hell with all the help he had given me, the grudges I have, and all the debt he owes to the country as well as the hatred he had incited. None of those are important now.
All Nathan wanted at that moment was a crazy battle where he could go all out to vent the frustrations and anger pent up within him.
It was like what Lothar said. At the end of the discourse, there would be fists; fists would, in turn, determine life and death.
This day, he would end it with Lothar, once and for all.
Lothar sneered. "Fine, if you're adamant about ceding the first three strikes, so be it. Let me see if you can really block them."
As soon as he finished his sentence, Lothar attacked.
He walked toward Nathan as everyone around watched on.
Although his steps seemed slow, it was actually fast.
As he walked, he started reciting a poem, "Three years had passed since I arrived at Luceras; The time of late spring had come, but the constant rains were chilling..." When Nathan's eyes met Lothar's, the former's body trembled. Then, his arms and legs stiffened, frozen as if someone had cast a spell on him. He couldn't move. The sounds around him suddenly became distant, and everything before him changed.
He realized he was now standing in a field in spring. An old man, donning chimere attire and a zucchetto on his head, was walking through the drizzle of freezing rain toward him. As the old man came nearer, Nathan, however, stood immobile. He couldn't say anything or move.
When Lothar saw how Nathan was intimidated by his mental power and trapped inside his illusion, unable to move, the former couldn't help but smirk.
Subsequently, he raised his hand and sent a powerful punch to Nathan, preparing to end Nathan's life in one hit.
At that critical moment, Nathan's instinct that was honed from his many life-and-death situations kick-started to life.
Boom!
He immediately freed himself from the invisible chains. At the same time, he raised his arms and crossed them to block Lothar's deadly punch. Ka-boom!
A deafening sound thundered in the air.
Nathan was pushed backward dozens of meters by Lothar's punch. After forming two long, deep grooves with his feet, he stabilized himself.
At that moment, he felt as if his organs had twisted from the impact. Releasing his breath slowly, he felt the dull ache in his chest subside slightly.
Lothar stared incredulously at Nathan. The former didn't expect Nathan's mental strength to be so strong that he could escape his mental control. "The first strike!" Nathan stated.
Lothar's face darkened, and he said coldly, "Again!"
