Salute To The General
Chapter 3057

Bang!

Bang!

Just as Kevan and Tyland moved closer to Max, Max sent them flying with a hit.

When the duo fell to the ground, their bodies were contorted like broken dolls that had been twisted.

Max looked at his bloodstained fist and placed it by his nose to smell it before he uttered calmly, "As expected, the blood of the bishop is different from that of ordinary people. It's even more fragrant and intoxicating. Unfortunately, I don't have the time to enjoy it now." With that, he chased after Hepburn in the direction she escaped.

Hepburn brought the remaining two bodyguards with her as she sprinted forward like a startled cat.

All of a sudden, two mysterious men dressed in combat uniforms with masks over their faces appeared in front of her. The men had military weapons in their hands.

The two super-soldiers' eyes lit up when they saw Hepburn.

Instantly, they trotted toward Hepburn and the others.

The two bodyguards beside Hepburn swiftly advanced in the direction of the two aggressive super-soldiers while they said to Hepburn, "Holy Maiden, please go ahead and leave first. We'll stay behind to cover your retreat." Upon hearing that, Hepburn immediately bolted.

After running for a few hundred meters and leaving the backyard of the church, she heard agonized screams coming from behind her.

As soon as she turned around, she realized her bodyguards had been defeated by the two super-soldiers. The bodyguards were on the ground, lying in a pool of blood.

Despite having fallen, however, the two bodyguards stubbornly wrapped their arms around the soldiers' legs so that the latter could not go after Hepburn. They wanted to buy as much time as they could for her to escape. In an instant, Hepburn's tears flowed like tap water out of a faucet.

Enduring the grief, she dashed away to escape.

As the back alley was filthy and dark, she accidentally fell into the smelly drain at the side of the road that was overgrown with weeds after she ran a little further.

Her body was instantly covered with sludge that stank horribly.

Her followers had always thought of her as the elegant Holy Maiden and worshipped her reverently.

Yet, here she was, being hunted down by people and even falling into a smelly drain when escaping.

Anxious and furious, Hepburn almost burst into tears.

Just then, the clear sounds of footsteps came from afar. It was obvious that someone was approaching, and they were certainly the ones hunting her.

She was so frightened that she immediately crouched down in the smelly drain, leaving only a tiny part of her head outside. While holding her breath, she dared not move a single muscle.

The alley was dark, and there were trash and weeds littering the ground everywhere, which caused it to be stinky.

The people hunting for Hepburn probably didn't expect the Holy Maiden would hide in the filthy drain, so they didn't check along the road carefully and left.

Ten minutes later, Max and his subordinates had slaughtered everyone in Caliburn Church.

However, what enraged him was that Hepburn had escaped.

Right then, he was at the intersection nearby the church, his subordinates gathered around him.

Max uttered with murderous intent, "How could you guys let a weak lady run away from under your nose?"

The dozen or so subordinates could feel the terrifying murderous aura Max exuded.

One of them hurriedly replied, "Sir, don't panic. There is still some time before dawn. We'll replace her."

Another subordinate added, "Yeah. We have arranged for people to be on the streets around here. I believe we'll definitely capture her as she's surrounded."

Max responded coldly, "Then what are you guys standing around for? Hurry up and work together with the others to search all the places! In particular, assign people to guard the police stations and telephone boxes nearby. Once you see Hepburn, just capture her. If anyone stands in your way, kill them regardless of who they are."

All of them answered in unison, "Understood!"

The hunt for the Holy Maiden, Hepburn, was in progress on the deserted street in the dead of night.

Meanwhile, a grimy Hepburn had just gotten out of the smelly drain.

She was still wearing a nightgown, but one couldn't tell the original condition of the article of clothing anymore. It was covered in mud and rubbish, emitting a disgusting stench.

Perhaps whoever saw her would cover their nose and treat her as a dirty beggar or vagrant.
