Salute To The General -
Chapter 3078
As Laura had just taken a beating from Kaiden earlier, she was shocked to see Nathan injure him severely in one punch. The other members of the Curia, too, were shocked by what they saw.
They knew that the God of War of Eurasia was powerful, but they didn't think it was to this extent. Although Kaiden was severely wounded, he was still an elite werewolf and the son of the Alpha Wolf. Even when fleeing, Kaiden was moving at ridiculously high speeds and left only afterimages in his wake. Whoosh!
Colin gave chase before Nathan could respond.
""Hey! Don't go after him!"
By the time Nathan finished his sentence, Colin was already dozens of meters away.
For some reason, Colin was determined to pursue Kaiden and make him pay for attempting to kill Queenie. Nathan could only let out a helpless sigh in response.
He knew that the loyal Colin would stop at nothing until he killed those who tried to hurt him or his family.
Nathan then turned toward Laura, who had already recovered from her state of shock.
Oh, my goodness! I probably would've been dead by now if Nathan didn't show up in time!
Laura's heart was overwhelmed with awkwardness, gratitude, and guilt when she looked at Nathan.
After all, the Curia had insisted on putting Queenie's life in grave danger by announcing her as the next Holy Maiden.
The most humiliating part was her failing miserably to keep her promise of protecting Queenie. Not only did she fail to protect Queenie, but she even needed Nathan's help to survive.
If embarrassment was fatal, she would definitely have died at that point.
"Cardinal Laura, I told you that the Curia would only be putting my daughter in danger. I also said you guys were incapable of protecting her. I will never allow my daughter to become the Holy Maiden, so go and tell Eugene IV to take back what he said. I don't want my daughter to be in danger ever again. If he doesn't comply within three days, then things are going to get ugly for everyone," Nathan said coldly.
He then led Kylie and Queenie into his sedan and left the area, leaving Laura and her subordinates rooted to the spot.
Colin returned right after Nathan and the others were done showering and changing.
Nathan, who had put on a fresh set of loungewear, frowned slightly when he saw Colin enter the house while dripping wet. "How did it go?"
"I kept chasing him for ten miles. Due to his severe injuries, Kaiden eventually collapsed and died of exhaustion," Colin replied.
Not only did Kaiden suffer from a broken arm, but his internal organs were also damaged from the shockwave.
That, combined with being pursued ten miles straight, caused Kaiden's heart to fail due to exhaustion.
"His chances of survival had already become incredibly slim after I punched him, so you didn't have to go after him at all. I told you not to give chase, but you didn't listen. Now, look at you. You're all drenched!" Nathan lectured him. Colin felt a warm sensation in his heart when he heard the concern in Nathan's voice.
"Elites from the dark clans have come to attack Ms. Smith immediately after the Curia declared her the next Holy Maiden. If I don't kill Kaiden to set an example for the others, more like him are bound to show up. As such, I deemed it necessary to give chase and ensure Kaiden's death."
"Go shower and get changed. Killing Kaiden won't do much to resolve the issue. We'll still need the Curia to make another announcement," Nathan said calmly. Colin nodded. "Right!"
