Salute To The General -
Chapter 3092
instead. I'm sure we can all work things out in a peaceful manner."
Eugene IV went along with her statement and said, "Yes, exactly. The Holy Maiden is right. Mr. Cross, please understand that the Holy Maiden plays a huge role in the Curia. If you don't like your daughter being the next Holy Maiden, then I will choose someone else Those around Eugene IV knew that he had admitted defeat in the face of Nathan's power.
By fighting his way into the Curia palace hall and confronting Eugene IV in person, Nathan had struck fear into the hearts of the Curia members.
Eugene IV knew that Nathan was only here because he didn't want his daughter to bear the burden and risks of being the next Holy Maiden.
That was especially the case since she got attacked by members of the dark clan the other day. Eugene IV decided it would be best to just give in to his demand.
Seeing that he had achieved his goals, Nathan softened his tone as he said, "I'm glad to hear that you are willing to change the candidate. I apologize for recklessly barging into your palace like this."
It wasn't his style to be unforgiving and cruel.
Eugene IV was well aware of Nathan's reputation as the God of War of Eurasia, especially his killing of the vampire duke, which had shocked everyone in the Curia.
They believed that the Curia would benefit greatly by allying with someone as powerful as Nathan.
By defeating Arlo and Baccio, Nathan successfully cleared all three levels and shocked every single person in the Curia.
There was no way Eugene IV would dare reprimand Nathan for his reckless behavior.
"You're being far too kind, Mr. Cross. This whole incident was simply the result of a misunderstanding between us. Now that we've worked things out, let us put this in the past and move on," he said with an apologetic smile. Nathan simply nodded at him without saying anything.
Since Eugene IV had sincerely admitted to his mistakes and agreed to his demand, Nathan decided to let him retain his honor.
Eugene IV breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that Nathan had forgiven him.
Phew! If he's willing to admit that this is all just a misunderstanding, then I can have my subordinates tell everyone that it was just a misunderstanding. This should help protect the Curia's reputation!
"Since you're here, Mr. Cross, please allow me to show you some hospitality. I've ordered the kitchen staff to prepare a banquet for us. Would you care to join us for a meal?" he asked with a polite smile on his face.
Nathan was about to turn his offer down, but Hepburn cut him off by saying, "That's right, Mr. Cross! You once saved my life, and I haven't had the opportunity to express my gratitude. Please feast with us so that I may properly thank you in person."
Eugene IV could tell that Nathan disliked the Curia and was reluctant to join them for a feast, but he had to try and improve the Curia's relationship with him somehow.
"Besides, we've received word that the vampires might be planning something big which could threaten all of humanity. I would like to discuss with you how we can stop that from happening," he added.
The vampires are planning something big that could endanger mankind?
The first person who came to Nathan's mind was Max, who had been transformed into a vampire.
Could this vampire crisis be related to Max?
With that in mind, Nathan agreed to join them for a feast. "In that case, I shall take you up on your kind offer, Pope Eugene."
Eugene IV's lips curled into a wide smile when he heard that. "That's good to hear! Please, come this way, Mr. Cross!"
