Salute To The General -
Chapter 3209 Good News
On the vampire's side, they were secretly planning a sudden and decisive war against humans.
However, the humans had no idea and were still basking in the joy of Nathan's victory over the vampire's chief prince, Lux.
Nathan wanted to pursue and expand the victory, so he gathered the alliance's deputy commanders, Eugene IV, Leopold, and Wolfric, along with the powerful War Gods, to discuss the next step of besieging and destroying the vampires. However, everyone hesitated when they heard about entering the vampire-occupied territory to fight them.
Some said they should not be too hasty, while others believed that it was too risky to enter the vampire-occupied territory where countless vampires and bondslaves were lurking.
Some even agreed to attack the vampires but refused to send their own soldiers, claiming that they had to take responsibility for their soldiers' lives.
Nathan was helpless in the face of these refusals and felt a headache coming.
Many small Adrune countries and areas were destroyed by the vampires during the blood virus outbreak, and those areas became vampire-occupied territories.
However, the current larger Adrune countries still had advanced technology and a large number of soldiers. Their territories and people were not affected by the vampiric invasion.
Since they could still live in peace, they did not want to send their soldiers to the vampire-occupied territories to fight.
Wolfric and many others suggested that it was good enough to simply surround and block the vampires. Sending their soldiers to fight in the vampire-occupied territory would not benefit them, so they did not agree.
In the end, Nathan's plan to attack the vampires had to be temporarily shelved.
After the meeting, Nathan returned to his residence while feeling drained, and Colin brought him hot water to wash his face and relieve his fatigue.
While Colin handed a hot towel to Nathan, he couldn't help but say, "Mr. Cross, you look exhausted."
Nathan took the towel and wiped his face, sighing. "Dealing with these politicians is more tiring than fighting with elite vampires. These guys are too selfish. In their eyes, the vampire-occupied territories are all the land of small countries, and those who die are the people of those small countries too. They think that mobilizing large-scale troops to fight the vampires is not in their interest, and they refuse to engage in a decisive battle with the vampires."
Colin said, "People are selfish. They won't be willing to mobilize the whole country to fight the vampires until the vampires really threaten their country's survival."
Nathan nodded. "Yes. We are only surrounding them but not attacking them. I feel that problems will arise sooner or later."
Just then, Nathan's phone rang.
He looked at the caller ID and surprisingly saw that it was his wife, Penny, calling from a long distance away.
When he saw his wife's call, his originally melancholic mood disappeared, and his handsome face showed a smile.
He threw the hot towel back to Colin, answered the phone, and smiled. "Penny, why do you have time to call me? Is the baby ready to come out?"
Penny's due date was less than a month away.
Penny seemed to be in a very good mood, and her happiness was evident in her tone of voice.
She laughed and answered, "Although the due date is approaching, it's not necessarily accurate. It's normal to be early or late. The little one in my belly doesn't seem to want to come out yet, so I guess we'll have to wait." Nathan laughed too. "You sound very happy. Did something good happen? Tell me about it."
With a smile, Penny replied, "There is indeed a great piece of news to tell you, and you will definitely be thrilled to hear it."
