Salute To The General -
Chapter 3213 A Call To Arms
The next day, more than half of the team members had already been picked.
That included Colin and Sevan. It was only natural for both of them to join Nathan.
As usual, the Curia sent two of Nathan's nodding acquaintances, Betty and Daveth, to set off with him.
Other ten-odd names on the list were made up of Adrune's Gods of War. They, too, volunteered to team up with Nathan.
Just like that, fifteen out of twenty names of the special operations unit had been decided. They were only short of five more. "Only five spots are left, Wolfric. How many fighters are you bringing along?" asked Nathan placidly as he observed Wolfric.
A snort then escaped the latter's lips. "My guys will be filling in all five remaining spots."
Curiosity got the better of Nathan, compelling him to say, "Oh? I wonder who they may be."
Looking up, Wolfric gazed at the sky far beyond the horizon and remarked coldly, "Look. Here they come."
Up above the sky so high, the most advanced armed helicopter from Ariarica came into sight.
Nathan and the rest were astonished. Never in a million years would they expect Wolfric to get help from Ariarica.
As it turned out, Wolfric could never let his guard down around Nathan.
The night before, he had gotten in touch with Ariarica's president, Bryon, to request assistance from some of the mightiest generals they currently had in the army for fear that Nathan might stab him in the back once they were all in the vampire-occupied territory. Right then, the helicopter arrived above the field of the alliance's headquarters.
Even so, it did not seem like it was about to land any time soon.
Just when Nathan and the gang were bemused, what they saw next astounded them to the point of no return.
Swoosh!
A graceful figure leaped out of that helicopter, hanging dozens of meters high up in the sky.
Ah! Goodness gracious! This is madness!
That person had an agility akin to a sparrow, touching down ever so lightly with one knee on the ground.
To everyone's surprise, it was a female general clad in the Ariarican army uniform, and she was a stunning beauty, for that matter.
Her burgundy hair might be long and curly, but her appearance, though, was frosty. It was as if she was a thorny rose, beautiful yet distant.
Standing beside Nathan was Colin. He whispered in the former's ears to make the introduction, "If my memory serves me right, the lady there is Monica Fenn, the most powerful Goddess of Warrior in Ariarica."
Monica!
Nathan had heard of that name before. It was said that Monica was the most formidable female warrior in Ariarica, not to mention being hailed as Ariarica's Goddess of Warrior. Rumor had it that she was still single, and thus, she was the dream girl of quite a few skilled fighters back in Ariarica.
Monica steadily rose to her feet as she dusted off the dirt on her body. With a condescending gaze, she swept a glance over the field. If anything, she resembled a goddess descending from the heavens.
Simultaneously, another figure could be seen alighting that very helicopter in mid-air with a sudden spring.
That time around, it was a burly man who made a way more head-turning descent.
Boom!
The second his feet touched the ground, a crater formed beneath his feet, accompanied by a deafening sound.
Upon a closer look at the man's face, Colin was startled once more. "This guy is all the more prominent. He goes by the name Peder, and he's the best of the best in the Ariarican army. So far, he has yet to be bested by anyone. There was even a time when he challenged Max to a duel. Sadly, Max was a Five-star General at that time, so he didn't spar with Peder due to their difference in status. It's because Max ignored Peder's challenge that speculation has been circulating throughout the Ariarican army-when it comes to combat prowess, Peder is the next-generation whizz that even Max is in awe of him."
Nathan sneaked a peek at Peder from a distance and commented nothing.
Bam!
Again, three more figures jumped down from the helicopter and landed on the ground. None of them had come with an assertion any less domineering.
The trio was Peder's comrades, better known as Punk, Karl, and Esther.
In terms of combat power, those three were second to no other in the whole Ariarican army.
After dropping off all five of them, the helicopter departed with a loud whirring sound.
Monica and the group made a beeline for the spot Wolfric was standing and saluted him in unison. "Admiral Welz!"
