Salute To The General -
Chapter 3230 I Want You As A Friend
"I saw the outside of Kushburn when I first arrived. That place was crawling with vampires, and the security there was tight. It won't be easy to capture Max there. What do you guys suggest we do?" Nathan said.
Wolfric replied, "The vampire prince, Max, is personally ruling over Kushburn. There are hundreds of thousands of vampires in the city, so we can't just barge right in and go on a rampage. In fact, we need to be smart about this.
"I have also found out that the vampires in Kushburn will send out patrol teams to capture the remaining humans within the vampire-occupied territory. They will then send the captured humans back into Kushburn using trucks. We can sneak into their convoy, enter Kushburn with them, and capture Max."
"I can understand if the vampires from Kushburn are hunting humans down to kill them, but why would they bring the humans back to Kushburn?" Nathan asked curiously.
Monica gracefully swirled her wine glass around as she explained with a smile, "The vampires think that the vampire-occupied territories are their home now, Captain Cross. That makes the humans within the territories their livestock. Naturally, there's no reason for them to waste such a resource by killing them off. They farm the humans that they capture as livestock so that they never need to worry about getting a food source."
Nathan frowned when he heard that.
Not only do the vampires see humans as food, but they also farm us? This is a clear sign that they're planning on ruling over humanity!
"In that case, we will infiltrate their convoy and pretend to be the humans that got caught, That way, we have a huge chance of capturing Max," Nathan said after giving it some thought.
Having worked with Wolfric for so long, this was the first time Nathan heard him come up with a good idea.
Wolfric got a little gleeful when he saw that Nathan had agreed with his plan. Ha! Nathan may be rude and arrogant, but he does have a keen eye for great plans! I'm glad he sees the good in my plan!
As Nathan preferred to get things done as soon as possible, he quickly went to see Shadow Widow and requested her to replace out the whereabouts of Kushburn's vampire patrol.
"But those vampire patrols are out solely to capture humans, Mr. Cross! Isn't it rather dangerous for me to investigate them?" Shadow Widow protested coquettishly.
"You're the one calling the shots in this area, so I have faith in your capabilities. As for the payment, just name your price," Nathan replied calmly.
Nathan wasn't afraid of Shadow Widow demanding a high price because he could just slay more vampires along the way and give her their cores.
According to the Curia, the vampire cores were of incredible value for one of their research. On top of that, it was also the Curia's primary mission to eliminate vampires, so killing them while conducting the
research was a win-win situation for
the Curia.
To Nathan's surprise, however, Shadow Widow did not demand a high price for the favor he was requesting.
Instead, she walked up to him and said seductively, "Hehe... There's something that I want far more than money, such as spending a night with you..."
The look on Nathan's face changed instantly when he heard that.
Shadow Widow was half-joking when she said that to test him.
Judging by the look on Nathan's face, she knew that he didn't have any intention of doing something like that.
There was a hint of disappointment
in her eyes, but she was quick to hide it with an awkward chuckle. "I was just messing with you, Mr. Cross! You should've seen the look on your face! Hehe!"
She then put on a serious expression as she continued, "I will help you out free of charge. In exchange, I would like to have you as a friend. Would that be okay with yout, Mr. Cross?"
Nathan paused for a brief moment before replying with a nod, "All right, then. I'll be your friend."
