Salute To The General -
Chapter 324 Who Said Master Is Afraid Of You
Chapter 324 Who Said Master Is Afraid Of You
Carl was not surprised that Franklin had not come. After all, the latter had 'accidentally' killed his
daughter. It was normal that he would feel too embarrassed to come.
Actually, Carl was also under orders from the King of the South, Dip Turner, to deal with Nathan.
With Dip backing him up, he would not need to be scared of Franklin.
He spoke up blandly, "Major-General Wilson might have been held up by his official duties so it's
understandable that he's unable to come. However, hasn't Cross always been very arrogant here in
Channing? Why isn't he here?”
Joseph snickered before answering, "With you here, sir, I'm sure he's too afraid to come. He definitely
knows you're here for him and must be quivering in his shoes with fear by now!"
Carl and his men laughed uproariously.
Some of the guests chuckled along, while some had uneasy looks on their faces. There were even
some who remained calm and unfazed.
Taking in his guests, Carl boomed, "I called everyone here today because I hope that you can show me
where you stand.
Nathan Cross has killed my children and my sworn brother, so now I'm going to kill him! Because all of
you are influential people here in Channing, I need to know. Are you with me, or are you against me?"
He then turned his gaze on Sean. His tone was decidedly unfriendly as he continued, "Sean Smith of
the Smith family, Nathan Cross is your grandson-in-law. What are your thoughts on me killing him for
revenge?"
Sean was quick to reply, "Nathan has always been causing trouble everywhere he goes and I don't
actually accept him as my grandson-in-law. Besides, he's offended you of all people, so I think that he's
brought this upon himself. If you insist on going after my son and granddaughter too, I will also agree
with your decision."
Satisfied, Carl smiled at him approvingly. "Looks like you're a smart man.”
Sean plastered a polite smile on his face, saying, "I'm a man of reason. Relatives are nothing in the
face of logic. Sir, I was in a bit of a hurry when I came so I was only able to prepare this small vase for
you. I still hope that you'll accept my gift.”
"You are a principled man indeed, Mr. Smith!" Carl responded with a chuckle.
A pleased flush crept onto Sean's face at Carl's praise.
The rest of the businessmen and rich families rushed to present their gifts as well, proclaiming their
support of Carl.
The political leaders, however, expressed their neutrality.
Naturally, in order to avoid any suspicion, they could not outrightly support Nathan.
Only a few men publicly stood by Nathan's side, most notably Zachary Schulz and Howard Ortiz.
Carl sneered at these men, mocking, "Cross is well aware that I'm here for his life as I'd sent him an
invitation too. Yet do you see him here now? He's so terrified that he's probably hiding somewhere.
Even so, you'd dare publicly stand against me?” Updated at Drąmanovеls.cоm
A strongly-built man strode inside. It was Thomas Dunn.
