Salute To The General -
Chapter 3343 A Million Bondslaves Block The Way
By midday, hundreds upon thousands of allied soldiers arrived at the outskirts of the vampire's headquarters.
The sun was blazing fiercely overhead, and every soldier found themselves drenched in sweat.
Just ahead, the sky was obscured by a mysterious veil of darkness, with everything there shrouded in obscurity. It was a darkness so profound that one could not see their hand in front of them.
Wolfric and the others all looked ahead with complicated expressions. The darkness that shrouded the path before them was like a gaping abyss waiting for them to step forward on their own accord to devour them.
Leopold turned to look at Nathan. "Are you really not going to change your mind, Commander Cross?"
Hepburn, Wolfric, and the others turned to regard Nathan.
"No need for that," Nathan said indifferently. "Stick to the plan. I will venture into the final territory and duel Herod. If you notice the dark veil ahead starting to lift, and this region illuminated by sunlight again, that would mean I have defeated Herod. Then, you can launch a full-scale attack. If you don't receive news of my victory, on the other hand, it probably means I've fallen in battle. Act accordingly."
After his speech, Nathan leaped off the command vehicle and began his solitary journey into the dark zone.
Colin and the Elite Eight hastily followed suit.
"You don't have to come with me anymore," Nathan said.
"We are your National Guard, Chief Cross," Colin said loudly. "Of course we will follow you every step of the way wherever you go."
"Stay put, all of you," Nathan repeated.
Colin was about to speak when Nathan said coldly, "It's an order."
Colin and the Elite Eight shuddered.
Obedience to orders was the foremost rule for a soldier.
All they could do was stare at Nathan disappear into the darkness before their eyes.
As soon as Nathan stepped into the darkness, he felt countless pairs of eyes watching him from the shadows.
To his surprise, he stepped into this pitch-black environment without any discomfort. In fact, it felt as natural to him as a fish would be in the water.
His vision was also surprisingly normal in the darkness. In fact, it was exceptional; he could see farther than usual.
Perhaps, this is one of the benefits brought by the vampiric constitution.
As soon as Nathan stepped into the dark region, Herod knew.
He was surprised. "Has Nathan lost his mind?" he asked those around him. "Did he actually have the army of the human alliance stay put and come in on his own to meet his doom?"
"This fellow has always been arrogant," Max said. "Who knows what tricks he has up his sleeves this time?"
Herod chuckled. "If he wants to play
the hero, we'll humor him. We have
countless bondslaves under our
command, do we not? Send them intercept him and wear down his strength. Can he kill a hundred bondslaves? How about a
thousand? Or ten and
A
hundred thousand? Prepare a million bondslaves for him to slaughter until his hands grow weak. By the time he stands before me, I want him to be spent, feeble as a shrimp."
"Yes, sir!" Max said.
After Nathan entered the dark area, his pace seemed slow though he was actually still quite fast.
With every step he took, his figure would flicker momentarily, and he would appear a hundred meters away the next instant.
Heading toward Herod's palace, he was advancing at an unbelievable speed.
Suddenly, figures began to emerge ahead, blocking his path.
Countless shadows, each with eyes that radiate a crimson glow, surrounded him.
With Nathan's eyesight, he could clearly see each of their pale and ferocious faces, as well as the fangs protruding out of their mouths. Unexpectedly, the bondslaves had appeared to block his path.
Amongst the army of bondslave, a

gentleman with a small mustache, dressed in a vintage black suit, was gazing at Nathan from afar. He sneered "Hah! You've got quite the nerve to come here all alone, Nathan. Patriarch Herod has commanded us to treat you well! I have summoned a million bondslave. You're quite the fighter, aren't you? I'll have you kill them to your heart's content until you can barely raise your arms."
