Salute To The General -
Chapter 3398 Havik Had His Eye On The Laboratory
The seven swordsmen looked perplexed upon hearing the discussion.
Wind Swordsman couldn't help but ask, "What is it?"
Havik shook his head. "I don't know either, but my intuition tells me it might have something to do with vampires, or perhaps he is a vampire himself."
The other swordsmen's faces showed signs of shock when they heard this.
Wind Swordsman lamented, "It's a pity that Nathan is incredibly powerful. We dare not investigate him secretly or get too close, fearing that his heightened instincts will detect our presence. Otherwise, we might have uncovered more information."
The swordsmen nodded in agreement. They had been conducting covert investigations on Nathan under Havik's orders, but they were strictly instructed not to approach within a three-kilometer radius of him. Nathan's immense strength allowed him to sense the presence of any powerful individuals nearby. Consequently, tonight, they were too far from Nathan to know about Colin's and Sevan's conversation in the alleyway of the Surf Bar. Otherwise, Nathan's secrets would have already been exposed.
At that moment, the seven swordsmen stood atop a mountain, gazing down at the research base at the foot of the mountain. They speculated on what could be inside that intrigued Nathan so much.
Havik narrowed his eyes, saying coldly, "No need for random guesses anymore. The answer is actually quite simple. We storm into the research facility, replace the person in charge, as well as that guy named Sevan, and interrogate them. We might uncover everything."
The seven swordsmen's eyes brightened when they heard this suggestion. It was a straightforward and aggressive approach that would likely yield results. However, they immediately felt some hesitation.
As the Shadow Guards of the Curia, they specialized in handling tasks that couldn't be addressed openly, including acts of violence and arson. Anything the Curia couldn't handle openly was entrusted to them. Therefore, they had long developed a habit of using any means necessary to achieve their goals. But now, they found themselves in a quandary.
Wind Swordsman couldn't help but say, "Sir, if this were any other country, regardless of whose
research base it is, we would simply barge in and do what needs to be done. There would be nothing to fear. But this is Eurasia, also known as 'God's Forbidden Land.' No mercenaries, assassins, or any organization has ever dared to be so bold here. Lately, we've had a good relationship with Nathan in public. Wouldn't it be unwise to intrude into his research base, searching for clues in such a crude manner?"
As soon as he finished speaking, Havik's icy gaze fell upon him, making him feel uneasy. Havik coldly said, "So, do you have a better suggestion?"
Wind Swordsman knew that if he didn't provide a good suggestion, Havik would likely reprimand him. Thinking quickly, he said, "I believe that even if we infiltrate Nathan's research base to replace clues, we should conceal our identities. It would be best if we could disguise ourselves and shift the blame onto someone else."
When Havik heard this, his expression eased slightly, and he slowly said, "Your suggestion sounds reasonable. Here's what we'll do. Let's return and procure some sets of specialized combat uniforms from Ariarica. Tomorrow night, we'll come back and infiltrate the research base, replaceing the clues we desire."
The seven swordsmen replied in unison, "Yes!"
Havik set his sights on the Cross Group research base. His instinct told him that the clues he sought were inside. He was ready to put his plan into action.
Meanwhile, at the Victoria Hotel, Hepburn was also unable to sleep peacefully. She was torn between conflicting thoughts. Testing Nathan with the Tear of God seemed unethical, especially since he had saved her life. However, if she didn't use it to test him, she wouldn't be able to report back.
Ultimately, she made up her mind in secret. Mr. Cross is definitely not a vampire. It wouldn't hurt to test him with the Tear of God. Besides, this is also a way to prove his innocence. That's how I'll proceed.
