Salute To The General
Chapter 3436 Demigod

Divine Altar's terrain was undoubtedly complex.

The place was home to a powerful natural magnetic field, and most communication devices would lose their signals in the area. On top of that, compasses would spin out of control, and not even planes dared to fly over the region's skies. Just then, the voice of Eugene IV rang out far and wide like muffled thunder, prompting the Curia members behind him to kneel devoutly on the ground.

Oddly enough, it seemed as though they were anticipating something.

All of a sudden, the clear twilight skies underwent a peculiar transformation.

A massive black cloud appeared out of nowhere and hovered over the Divine Altar.

The next second, a giant black vortex, akin to the gaping maw of the abyss, materialized at the bottom of the cloud.

It was, without a doubt, a terrifying sight.

Upon seeing that, Eugene IV's eyes lit up. Ah! God has arrived.

Baccio and the others, too, felt their hearts tighten.

The heavily armed Curia warriors surrounding the Divine Altar were no exception either. They were all so frightened that they instantly fell on their knees.

To everyone's surprise, a black beam emerged from the vortex as it slowly descended onto the top of the Divine Altar.

Electric circles began showing up within the beam, and before long, three silhouettes had appeared in front of everyone.

One of the silhouettes stood at the forefront, clearly of higher status, while the other two stayed behind, seemingly playing the role of servants.

When the black beam finally disappeared, the three silhouettes standing atop the altar gradually came into focus.

The leader stood at a towering height of two meters, and with two arms and two legs, he wasn't much different from a human at first glance. His head, however, stood out like a sore thumb.

Not only did his head resemble an octopus, but he also had several writhing tentacles growing from his neck, making him look particularly frightening.

The two servants behind him were of similar stature and appearance.

Although it wasn't Eugene IV's first time seeing a Divine Messenger, he was still visibly shaken as he spoke. "Welcome, Divine Messenger."

"Welcome, Divine Messenger," everyone else immediately said in unison.

Atop the Divine Altar, the towering figure looked at the trembling crowd and rattled off a string of words.

To Eugene IV and the others, however, the words were incomprehensible. How could they understand anything when it sounded like static to them?

Eugene IV hastily looked up and stared at the Divine Messenger in astonishment.

Thankfully, the Divine Messenger realized his mistake and switched to a human voice.

"It's been a while since I visited Earth. I even forgot to use your vocal frequency to communicate with you."

With that, his physical appearance began to change.

Slowly but surely, he shed his octopus head and transformed into a strapping, formidable man.

The two servants behind him followed suit and took on one male and one female human form each.

"Would these appearances be more in line with your earthly aesthetics, thus making you less afraid of us?" the Divine Messenger asked calmly.

"No matter what form you choose to take on, you'll still be our God. You'll always be the one we believe in, worship, and wholeheartedly dedicate our lives to," Eugene IV hurriedly replied.

"Not everyone can be called a God in

our nation," the Divine Messenger explained with a shake of his head. "Only after reaching adulthood,

going through trials and passing net

tests, Can one truly become a god. The rest will all be referred to as demigods. That applies to me and my two subordinates... We're merely Demigods."

"Yes, Divine Messenger. I

understand that now," Eugene IV answered. As believers, we will continue to work hard and aim to

achieve recognition as soon as et

possible. We hope to have the opportunity to enter the kingdom of God and become one of its members!"

Demigod nodded in satisfaction. "I'm sure you'll get the chance to become a Demigod! That said, Demigod is just a general term for our status. It's not our name. For your convenience, I've named myself Helios. You may call me Lios from here on out. As for my two servants, the man is Sirius, and the woman is Lunar."

"Got it! We'll remember the names."

"I wonder how many offerings you've prepared this time round. I hope it's not too little..." Helios uttered.
