Salute To The General -
Chapter 3462 God King
Meanwhile, in Pope Eugene's study in the Curia's headquarters, Eugene IV paced around his office anxiously.
At that moment, the newly appointed Holy Maiden, Sylvie, knocked before entering the office.
"Pope Eugene, we have a problem."
Eugene IV's heart skipped a beat. He quickly asked, "What happened?"
Sylvie replied, "The latest news just arrived from Aploth."
"Elder Baccio requested for Nathan to hand the demigod over, but Nathan claimed that he hadn't captured any such being and refused to comply. A fierce conflict erupted between the two sides and escalated to a physical fight on the spot." Eugene IV was taken aback as he asked, "What was the outcome?"
Sylvie smiled bitterly. "Nathan took them all down in the end. Baccio and his men were either severely injured or dead. Although Blanch managed to escape death, he was imprisoned by Nathan. The Curia has already lodged a protest demanding Nathan to release them, but he ignored us."
Eugene IV slumped into his chair, his face pale. He muttered to himself, "Everything's a mess now. Baccio acted too impulsively. He attacked Nathan in public and was thus labeled as an assassin by Nathan. Even the Curia can't save him now."
Sylvie lowered her voice and said, "Pope Eugene, not only did we fail to rescue the three demigods, but we have also lost Elder Baccio and his men to them. What do we do now?"
Eugene IV fell silent as a myriad of expressions flashed across his face.
After a long while, he said through gritted teeth, "I had originally planned to rescue the three demigods discreetly to avoid escalating the matter any further and causing a war between the gods and us humans. But Nathan is too stubborn. Not only is he unwilling to release the three demigods, but he even laid a hand on our people. In that case, we can throw all of our reservations away. Report the matter directly to the Divine Realm. Let's leave it to the gods to punish this madman!" Sylvie's eyes lit up at that.
Eugene IV continued in a deep voice, "Have the Priests' Chamber make the necessary preparations. I will communicate with the God King of the Divine Realm tonight." Sylvie replied, "Yes, Sir!"
That evening, the Curia's priests were all gathered at the Priests' Chamber located at the forbidden area of the Curia. All of them were prepared for the ritual.
After receiving permission from Eugene IV, they immediately began the ancient sacrificial ritual on the golden altar.
This ancient altar resembled a massive spaceship no matter how one look at it.
In fact, it was the first spaceship of the gods that landed on Earth when they discovered Earth thousands of years ago.
The spaceship broke down after its arrival and had been here ever since.
As years passed by, the gods nurtured a group of humans on Earth, who in turn became their loyal servants.
This group of servants was the Curia.
The Curia had also safeguarded the broken spaceship of the gods and designated the place where it landed as a forbidden area of the Curia. No one was allowed to step fooDin the area.
Their so-called ancient sacrificial ceremony as a means of
communicating with the 9
actually tedious process of activating the spaceship's
communication device to establish contact with the gods from Divine Realm in outerspace.
As of the moment, the ancient spaceship had been successfully activated and was emitting a bright glow. It flew into the sky, establishing contact with thedivine realm in outer space.
The Divine Realm soon received a signal from Earth and immediately established a connection and initiated contact.
A massive screen appeared out of thin air atop the divine altar with numerous figures on the screen.
It turned out to be a majestic mechanical palace as the image became clearer.
A huge mutant stood in the middle of the palace grounds, and a colossal figure nearly three meters tall sat atop the throne.
This colossal creature was clad in bizarre alloy armor and had a human body with an octopus head. Numerous tentacles swayed casually from its neck. His eyes radiated a bewitching glow, exuding an air of dominance.
Upon seeing the colossal figure on screen, Eugene IV couldn't help but lead his subordinates to kneel as they exclaimed unanimously, "Greetings, God King!"
