Salute To The General
Chapter 3480 Phoenix Soaring Strike

With a mix of intention and coincidence, Nathan led Gryffen far away to a secluded spot.

Nathan noticed that neither the Gods nor the humans were able to catch up for quite some time. There was also no one else around.

With that, he came to a halt.

Gryffen, on the other hand, thought that Nathan had nowhere to run and was forced to stop.

He sneered, "Ha! Go on! Keep running! Do you think you can escape?"

Nathan wore a half-smile. "Who says I'm running away?"

Upon hearing that, Gryffen was taken aback. He quickly looked around, only to replace no one in sight. Suddenly, he realized that Nathan might have deliberately led him here, intentionally avoiding the crowd. He understood immediately.

"You realized you couldn't beat me without transforming, but you're afraid others will discover your secret identity as the vampire king. Hence, you led me here. Am I right?"

Nathan said indifferently, "Congrats. Your reward for getting the right answer is death."

Gryffen scoffed, "Nathan, do you really think that you can defeat me just because you're in combat form? Don't be silly. The vampires have never been a match for the Gods. They have always lived under our rule. If you truly wish to live, then I can indeed give you one chance. If you are willing to submit to us, we, the Gods, can support you in strengthening the vampires on Earth. But in exchange, you must offer us the core of the vampires every year."

Nathan said coldly, "I used to think that vampires were evil creatures on Earth that survived solely on human blood. But, now, it seems that the Gods are even more shameless than the vampires. Vampires don't kill people; they can survive by buying blood bags from human hospitals. The Gods, however, are scheming to annihilate and rip out the core of the vampires."

Gryffen said, "Whether it's justice or evil, there's no need for you to define it. I have now given you two options to choose from. One lets you live, where you'll have to surrender and obey us. The other leads to death. I kill you and then support another vampire king to make him our puppet."

Nathan said calmly, "I'm sorry. I have a habit of not following paths laid out by others. I prefer carving out my own. For instance, killing you and having your subordinates carry your stupid head back to the Divine Realm. It would serve as a warning to the others there, telling them not to seek their own death by coming to Earth again!"

Gryffen exploded in anger, "Very well! That's just great! Since you refuse the lifeline I offer, then prepare to meet your death!"

After saying that, Gryffen suddenly spurred the magical power within him. His momentum began to rise.

His wings flapped behind him, suspending him in mid-air. The magical power within him resonated

the universe, causing a stir in

the dark night sky.

Lightning bolts began to appear all around.

Thunder and lightning exploded continuously around him, forming a grandiose storm of lightning that was silently taking shape.

The lightsword in Gryffen's hand shone with an even more dazzling brilliance.

It was clear that he was brewing a major move, ready to strike a heavy blow against Nathan.

"Phoenix Soaring Strike!"

With a fierce roar, Gryffen merged with his sword and charged toward Nathan with a myriad of thunderbolts.

His speed was incredible. His entire

being merged with the lightsword, appearing as a massive beam of light streaking toward Nathan.

Like a soaring phoenix enveloped in thunder and lightning, Gryffen descended toward Nathan.

In the face of such a deadly strike from Gryffen, Nathan merely stood still without moving an inch. In fact, he even closed his eyes.

Gryffen dove from the sky and saw Nathan standing still with his eyes closed. Immediately, the former assumed that Nathan was so intimidated by its presence that he was frozen in fear, waiting for death.

Just as Gryffen's thunderous sword was about to strike Nathan, the situation suddenly took a turn.

A wave of powerful dark red energy burst forth from Nathan's body, sweeping across the entire field like a black storm.

Gryffen's pupils suddenly dilated as shock flooded his heart. Nathan's about to reveal his combat form.
