Salute To The General
Chapter 3483 Proving Innocence

"Mr. Welz is right. We cannot elect Nathan as the commander-in-chief of the global village unless he can prove that he's not a vampire!"

A loud and powerful voice rang out.

Wolfric, Leopold, and the others all turned around, only to see a well-dressed, middle-aged man walking in with a cluster of people around him.

It was unmistakably Eugene IV.

It turned out that after Eugene IV communicated with the God King, he learned that the God King had dispatched the Divine Realm's Swordmaster, Gryffen, to Earth to deal with Nathan and rescue the three Demigods who were being held captive. He had been paying quite a bit of attention in discreet.

He initially thought the Swordmaster of the Divine Realm, Gryffen, could easily defeat Nathan and rescue those three Demigods.

The outcome, however, left Eugene IV utterly astounded.

Nathan actually shot Gryffen dead, and not only that but the Gods the latter brought along with him were all either killed or injured. None of them could escape Nathan's clutches.

That made Eugene IV unable to sit still any longer.

If I don't do something, I bet the His Majesty from the Divine Realm will be taking his anger on me.

Upon learning of Gryffen's misfortune, he immediately set off for Eurasia with the key members of the Curia in the middle of the night.

His motive was to see if he could break the stalemate. He wanted to uncover the secret that Nathan was a vampire to turn the situation around and take that opportunity to save those trapped Gods.

After he arrived at the State Guesthouse in Eurasia, he overheard Wolfric's conversation with the other War Gods. Without deliberation, he agreed to Wolfric's stance, stating that he would not allow Nathan to become the commander-in-chief of the Earth Alliance if he could not prove his innocence.

Many, including Wolfric, Leopold, Catherine, Eiken, and Tyrell, were surprised to see Eugene IV's presence.

They were all left wondering why he came.

Many War Gods from smaller countries came forward to greet Eugene IV with respect.

The Curia had a large number of believers, after all. Regardless of where it was, Eugene IV was worshipped by many.

Wolfric also stepped forward to greet Eugene IV. "Well, you've come too, Pope Eugene," he said with a half smile.

Eugene IV sighed. "The world is in chaos right now. There's danger lurking everywhere. Humans are facing an unprecedented daunting test. I can't even sit still while at Salinsburgh! "I heard that Aploth is in a great upheaval, and the War Gods from all nations have gathered here. That's why I came too."

Previously, Ariarica was not on good terms with the Curia.

There had been bad blood between Wolfric and Eugene IV as well.

On the contrary, Eugene IV had quite a good relationship with Nathan before.

But that particular day, Wolfric sensed that Eugene IV's attitude toward Nathan was not as amiable as before. Instead, it felt like Eugene IV was deliberately trying to get closer to him.

What's going on here? Could it be that the rumor about Nathan becoming a vampire is true?

Wolfric narrowed his eyes, feeling a mix of joy and sorrow.

The good thing was, if Nathan was indeed a vampire, humanity would never be able to accept him. Without a doubt, not only would he not be able to retain his position as the commander-in-chief of the human alliance, but the humans might even be in pursuit of him.

On the other hand, the bad thing was, if Nathan was a vampire, then mankind would have one less top elite but an additional terrifying enemy. That, to humans, was nothing short of a nightmare.

Even though Wolfric was a little worried, he figured he would still have to use the opportunity to take down Nathan if the latter was indeed a vampire.

And so, he deliberately said, "Pope Eugene, when you entered just now, you said that Nathan could not become the commander-in-chief of the global village if he can't prove his innocence. That reminds me of how the Curia has recently claimed that Nathan is a vampire. May I ask if this is true?"

As soon as those words fell, the War Gods present all focused their attention on Eugene IV with varied expressions.

This conjecture that Nathan is a vampire is too sensational. If there's no evidence, there'll be a price to pay for saying such things.

Eugene IV glanced at Wolfric,

displeased. He thought, Didn't you also say you won't allow Nathan to become the commander-in-chief of the human alliance if he can't prove that he's not a vampire? Why are you pushing everything on me now? You're making me play the role of a villain and bear all the risks, huh?

Eugene IV was also experienced enough to figure out Wolfric's intentions.

Naturally, he did not get fooled. "Indeed, the Curia has recently heard some rumors, and besides, Mr. Cross is quite suspicious," he calmly said. "It'll be best if he can explain himself and prove his innocence. After all, the commander-in-chief for the global village Earth Alliance is a matter of life and death for all humans. We must be extremely

cautious, don't you agree?"
