Salute To The General -
Chapter 3498 The Rituals Of The Gods
Nathan looked at the God Warriors, their faces serious as they hastily drew their lightswords. With a half-smile, he scoffed and said, "You guys are too sensitive. My blade merely made a sound. Is there really a need for such a reaction?"
Upon hearing this, Revent was both shocked and angry.
He understood clearly that Nathan was retaliating for his earlier act of intimidating the humans.
Revent turned his head slightly, a hint of annoyance in his eyes as he glared at his subordinates behind him. "What are you all so nervous about?" he asked discontentedly. "Put your weapons away!" "Yes!"
The dozens of God Warriors finally sheathed their lightswords and subdued their aura.
Revent's gaze fell back to the ground. His earlier disdain for Nathan had disappeared. The aura that Nathan just displayed was incredibly powerful. No wonder Gryffen lost to Nathan and met his end in Nathan's hands. Revent's expression turned serious. He looked at Nathan and said, "Allow me to introduce myself. I am Revent, the War God of the Divine Realm. If my guess is correct, you must be the strongest War God on Earth, Nathan." Nathan said, "I am! I'm also the commander-in-chief of the Earth Alliance. Are you here on behalf of the Divine Realm?"
Revent nodded. "That's correct. Can you represent Earth? If you can't, our negotiations will be pointless."
Nathan calmly stated, "Behind me stand the War Gods of a hundred nations. As the commander-in-chief of the Earth Alliance, I naturally have the authority to represent Earth and humanity in negotiations with you." Revent grinned and said, "Excellent. Here's to hoping our negotiations will be a complete success."
With that, he approached Nathan, raised his muscular arm and aimed his massive fist at Nathan.
Seeing the situation, the guards led by Colin were greatly alarmed and shouted, "Stop! What do you think you're doing?"
Revent paused, looking at his raised
fist, and then his gaze fell on Nathan and the others. With a half-smile, he said to Nathan, "In the Divine Realm, the etiquette between warriors is to bump each other's fists. It's just like the handshake custom for earthlings."
As he spoke, he fixed his gaze intently on Nathan and slowly asked, "Nathan, would you be willing to fist bump with me, to wish our negotiations a successful conclusion?"
Fist bump? Should we do that? Is there such an etiquette? Wolfric, Leopold, and the others stared in disbelief at the Divine Realm War God before them, their eyes fixed on Revent's massive fist.
At that moment, everyone was wondering if Revent would kill Nathan after the fist bump.
However, they knew if Nathan refused to bump Revent's fist, the former would seem insincere.
Everyone turned their gaze toward Nathan.
Nathan, however, appeared unperturbed, seemingly oblivious to any danger associated with paying respects to Revent.
He smiled and said, "Since this is your custom, and you insist on it, I have no choice but to comply. I'll bump fists with you, greeting you in your own way."
Revent chuckled coldly upon hearing
this. "Very well, Nathan. You indeed
have guts. I'm starting to admire you. However, I should warn you first. In Divine Realm, we value martial prowess, and that's why we have the tradition of greeting with a fist bump. When meeting new friends, it's customary to greet each other with a fist bump. And it's important to use a good amount of force, as a weak bump is seen as a sign of disrespect. Friends who can take a powerful punch often earn our respect."
As he spoke, he narrowed his eyes. "Out of respect for you, to show you the proper honor, I won't be holding back with this punch. You should do the same. Show no mercy. I hope you won't let me down." Nathan said, "Awesome!"
Nathan wasn't sure if that was a
common way to greet new friends in the Divine Realm, but he knew one principle clearly in his heart. If you can't obtain something on the battlefield, you won't get it at the
negotiation table. To gain theol
upper hand at the negotiation table, one must first flex their muscles, demonstrate their strength, and let the opponent know they are not to be trifled with.
That was why Nathan was more than happy to engage in a friendly bout of fist bumps with Revent, to see who was superior.
