Salute To The General
Chapter 3517 Return Of The Vampires

At the Earth Alliance Headquarters in the South of Eurasia on Earth, Nathan was currently in a meeting with crucial members of the alliance, including Wolfric and Leopold. It turned out that recently, Earth's alliance space team had discovered several instances of unidentified spacecraft approaching Earth, seemingly of extraterrestrial origin.

However, in each case, these crafts managed to elude detection.

This matter had garnered significant attention within the alliance.

During that day's meeting, Nathan emphasized the need for urgency. He urged the alliance and other countries to swiftly enhance their satellite-tracking and ground-sensing surveillance capabilities.

Otherwise, if the spaceships of the Gods were to reach Earth, and their armies were to descend, everyone would still be unprepared and in a state of oblivion to face the impending threat.

Wolfric, along with Leopold and the others, found themselves in a rare agreement with Nathan's proposal. They all expressed that they would immediately report back to their respective presidents and take steps to bolster their satellite-tracking and space defense capabilities to avoid being ambushed by the Gods.

After the meeting adjourned, Nathan returned to his office, and shortly after, Colin knocked on the door and entered.

While engrossed in reading the documents, Nathan asked in a calm tone, "What's the matter?"

Colin placed a sealed envelope on Nathan's desk and respectfully said, "Mr. Cross, Ms. Hepburn and Lyanna have left without notice. It appears they have returned to Adrune. I have a letter here from Ms. Hepburn addressed to you."

Nathan was surprised by the news. He found it rather strange that Hepburn and Lyanna, who had been reluctant to leave, suddenly chose to depart.

He opened the letter and began to skim through it quickly.

After reading it, he couldn't help but frown.

The farewell letter from Hepburn carried a touch of subtle resentment in its words.

Furthermore, the last paragraph of her letter left him both surprised and infuriated.

In her letter, Hepburn conveyed her plan to return to the vampires. She aimed to lead the leaderless clan of vampires in their pursuit of a way forward.

She declared that she would never allow the vampires to wreak havoc on the world, and explicitly stated that this was to secure a backup plan for Nathan.

Colin noticed a change in Nathan's expression and couldn't help but ask, "What's wrong, Mr. Cross?"

Nathan slammed the letter on the desk, his anger evident. "Hepburn's actions are too reckless. She claims she's going to lead the vampires and even talks about securing a backup plan for me. This is simply absurd!" Upon hearing this, Colin was initially stunned, but then he burst into laughter.

He said, "Ah, Mr. Cross, it appears that Ms. Hepburn acted on a whim. Even though the vampires are currently leaderless, given her strength how many of those powerful vampire members would

take

genuinely listen to her, leading

her seriously? Her notion of leading the vampires in search of a new direction and offering you an exit strategy is quite a stretch, perhaps even comical. There's no need to take it to heart or consider it too seriously."

Nathan found Colin's reasoning sensible and decided not to dwell on the matter any further.

However, a few days later, as Nathan was having a meal with his family, his attention was suddenly drawn to a news report on the international television channel.

The news anchor could be heard

saying, "Our latest report from Bardonia City reveals that yet another local gang has been wiped out. This gang, consisting of over three hundred members, was entirely annihilated overnight. The identity of the perpetrator remains unknown as local authorities seem reluctant to share further details. However, the cardinal of the local cathedral asserted that this was the work of the vampires. He further claims that the vampires have been strategically targeting notorious criminal organizations and individuals, resulting in a rising

number of fatalities attributed to

them worldwide..."

As Nathan watched the news on the television, he was struck by a sense of shock.

Penny, who was busy feeding their child next to him, casually remarked, "Huh, it's been barely half a year since the vampires in Adrune settled down. Now they're causing trouble again?"

Kylie interjected, "I've heard that the vampires only kill those who are extremely wicked. I think it's a form of righteous destruction, which is a good thing."

Penny shook her head and said, "Even if those people have committed heinous crimes, the vampires' frenzied killing still makes me uneasy. I don't think this is a good thing." Kylie laughed and said, "Well, I don't know about that. Let's ask Nathan, shall we?"

At that, she turned to Nathan with a playful smile and asked, "So, what do you think, Nathan?"

Nathan neither agreed nor disagreed and simply stated indifferently, "I think that I'm full and you guys should carry on. I have some official matters to attend to, so I'll take my leave now." Upon saying that, he rose from his seat and left the living room, heading toward the study.

He had just stepped into the study when Colin arrived in a hurry.

Nathan said, "Your timing is perfect. Recently, there have been reports in international news about the resurgence of vampires becoming active in the human world once again. They've even managed to eliminate several gangs. Have you seen these reports?"

With a bitter smile, Colin replied, "I was just about to discuss this matter with you, Mr. Cross."
