Salute To The General
Chapter 446 Brutus Is Coming

Chapter 446 Brutus Is Coming

After dinner, Penny and her family headed back to the hotel.

Nathan told Penny that he was going to meet his old comrade in the East Bay, then he left the hotel by

himself.

He hailed a cab at the entrance of the hotel and told the driver, "95 Silent Road, please."

"Sure, no problem," The cab driver replied and drove towards Nathan's destination.

Along the journey, Nathan saw a longhaired beggar sitting by the roadside from the rearview mirror.

Nathan took a second look at the beggar again, then he ignored the beggar and closed his eyes for a

rest.

After half an hour, the cab was still speeding down the road.

As the cab made a turn into Silent Road, Nathan woke up from his nap. Through the rearview mirror,

he saw the long-haired beggar from the roadside following behind the cab closely.

The beggar had actually chased behind the cab for the entire half an hour ride!

Right then, Nathan let out a slight smile.

Soon, the driver stopped the cab and said, "Sir, we've arrived at 95 Silent Road."

Nathan paid the driver and came out of the cab. He looked around the quiet road and walked towards

the mansion with the number 95 embossed on its front gate.

The mansion was intricately decorated with a vermilion gate and two stone lions on both sides of the

gate. From the structure and design of the mansion, it was clear that it belonged to someone affluent.

Nathan knocked on the door, and the door was opened almost immediately. A few men in suits greeted

him warmly, "Mr. Cross, please come in. Our master has been expecting your arrival for a while."

After that, Nathan went into the typical Southern-style courtyard. Hethen strolled past rows of Firmiana

simplex before entering the living hall of the mansion.

In the living hall, sumptuous meals were served. The main course of the meal was stewed beef, while

top-notch military wine was served on the side.

A middle-aged man with a muscular physique was waiting for his arrival at the dining table. Although

his hair had greyed, he had a pair of bright and sharp eyes that could pierce through any hidden

emotions. Not only that, but he also exuded an aura of calmness.

He was the commander-in-chief of the South, Zach Hill!

Zach smiled at Nathan when the former saw him coming in, "Haha...Nathan, you're finally here. The

food will be cold if you're not here anytime soon."

Nathan smiled back at him as he sat down, "Haha... I miss your special wine from the South. It's so

smooth. How can I not be here?"

Zach reprimanded him while chuckling, "That's not what you said earlier. You were saying that the wine

from the North was better, and the Southern wine is not as good as the North.”

"Well, you said that. Not me." Nathan smiled.

Then, Zach waved his hands, "I remembered that you outdrank me when we were having the Northern

wine. But tonight, we'll drink the Southern special wine instead, and mark my words -1 won't let you off

that easily.”

Suddenly, there was a commotion outside the mansion.

A long-haired beggar was stopped by the bodyguards when he knocked on the door. But the beggar

attacked the bodyguards, beating them down one by one to the floor. After that, he barged into the

mansion.

The long-haired beggar was none other than the Death God from the South, Brutus.

In the living room, Nathan and Zach watched as Brutus was surrounded by soldiers.

"Is he coming for you?" Zach asked suddenly.

Nathan smiled and replied, "I'm afraid so!"

"How dare you attempt to assassinate Mr. Cross! It's an unforgivable sin, and you will be shoot on the

spot without trial." Zach shouted at Brutus.

The Captain of National Guards, Leon, heard the command and ordered his men as well, "The general

has ordered us to shoot the killer!"

The soldiers immediately got ready to fire at Brutus.

Leon and the rest of the National Guards were shocked. "No, he's not an ordinary person, so we can't

let him in! He's a deadly assassin.” Coոtent оf Draмaոovеls.cом

However, Zach replied in a low voice, "Did you all not hear what Nathan said? Let him in!"

With that said, Leon and the rest of the National Guards had no choice but to let Brutus in.

He walked towards the living hall and sat on a chair beside the table. At the same time, he put a rusty

broken sword on the table.
