Sanctuary
Word of The Dragon

Construction on the sky dome had begun, and patches of Blue Sky beamed down light upon the city. Arranthian roared with appreciation of the light, a sliding door was planned for the Dragon, and Airships to come and go as they pleased.

Roisin approached the giant dragon, with Syl. Arranthian tilted his head and looked at Roisin.

"Hello child" Arranthian smiled.

"This is my sister, Roisin" Syl introduced Roisin.

"Yes, the one whom Abyssia called to my mind, she told me to save you, and that you are important, not just to her, but to the world" Arranthian explained.

"Oh... it was Abyssia?" Roisin asked, taken aback.

"Indeed it was, she was desperate enough to even call upon Lumina" Arranthian nodded.

"Hmm, I thought you hated Abyssia, Arranthian?" Syl pondered as he gazed up at the Dragon's face.

"That is true, I have no love for Abyssia, and I would hazard that the feeling is a mutual feeling, after the events of Avadey" Arranthian nodded, and looked at the black void that hung over the city. "But, she was willing to bridge that gap between us, for you, Roisin" He continued.

"I... see" Roisin thought to herself for a moment.

"I see it within you, you have the power to save this world, child" Arranthian smiled. "I want to give you both a gift" He added.

"A gift?" Roisin grinned.

"It's not gonna be cookies, Roisin" Syl shrugged.

"Well, I KNOW that, Syl" Roisin roared, Arranthian erupted into laughter at the sight of the two siblings arguing, it had brought back memories of watching his own children fight between each other. Those days were long gone now, and only he remained.

"The gift I wish to bestow, is glyph magick" Arranthian revealed.

"Glyph magic?" Roisin asked.

"Yes, one of the few magicks that does not belong to the Ancient Beings behind the veil. It is effective at breaking their spells, however, more than that, it will unlock extra abilities that will safeguard you both" Arranthian explained. As he finished explaining, he raised his head, and roared at the two siblings.

As the voice hit both Syl and Roisin, two circular glyphs appeared beneath their feet, and a mark appeared on their right forearm.

"Oh!" Roisin gasped.

"What is it child? I hope the transfer of power did not bring about harm upon you" Arranthian panicked.

"No, I forgot to say... thank you" Roisin smiled.

"Thank you?" Arranthian asked.

"Yes, for saving me back in Rivenlake" Roisin nodded. "And... for giving me my brother back, and I guess for bestowing these powers upon us too" Roisin smiled.

"Whoa, Roisin knows words like 'bestow' now" Syl teased.

"My child, it is my please to have assisted you. Until I met your brother, I had been mistaken about mankind, I had long turned my back upon them, but... he helped me replace my way back" Arranthian smiled.

"Did we do the right thing, though?" Syl asked, as he sighed and looked at the floor. "To Avadey, I mean" He added. Arranthian paused, and focused his mind, he sighed, and frowned.

"I do ask myself that question, young Syl, in the heat of the moment, it felt right, revenge for the destruction of Utopia. Of course, now I hear that Abyssia was not responsible for stoking the fires of hatred, but instead the man who tried to take your sister's life, Treleva" Arranthian sighed.

"I see..." Syl frowned.

"However, Abyssia did still make it easier, her imperial ways have always brought about the worst in mankind, and in that, she made it easier for Treleva to manipulate events" Arranthian continued. "But, I saw Treleva die with my own eyes. He was banished into nothingness, his soul shattered, he should have been killed there and then. But he lived, I am not sure how the Ancient Ones found his soul, and it worries me" He concluded.

"The Ancient Ones, they're them 'Senior Partner' people I hear about right?" Roisin asked.

"They are not people child, they are... I do not know what they are, I do not know what they want, they terrify me, they have always existed, and will always exist. I do not know of a way to dispose of them, and now they have found a way to pierce the veil, I fear this ephemeral age of ours is coming to a close" Arranthian mourned.

"I wont let this star fade" Roisin shook her head. "I'll save us all, even if it means my death, on this, you have my word, Arranthian" Roisin bowed her head.

"Ros..." Syl sighed. Roisin looked at Syl, he could see the determination in her eyes, that had never been present throughout their childhood. "I will stand by you until the end, whatever that may be" He smiled. Roisin nodded and the two hugged.

Arranthian smiled, as he dozed off, dreaming of his family, the days that were lost, and it seemed, would never come again.
