Chapter 98

Chapter 98 – Awakening Kiss (Sky‘s POV) “Pfft! Pilot,” Angela teased me as I left the cockpit.

I sneered, walking toward her on the couch. “Tease me all you want, but I‘m not flying this planewith a hangover.” Not ever when my children are inside the plane.

After last night, nothing from my plan A to B happened. I had to call my pilot to fly us back to thecity, and we had to leave earlier because her swollen foot worried me. Leyanne and Lyra Helenewere sitting and reading a book about sea urchins, the one I asked Gen to buy to bring for thekids. Selene was just with her Mommy, lying on top of her mother with her tiny arms aroundAngela‘s neck.

“What‘s with her?” I asked worriedly.

She shrugged and tilted her head to see our youngest daughter‘s face. Selene was not interestedin doing anything, not even reading a book with her sisters. She just wanted to be in her mother‘sarms.

Before sitting, I kicked Anya‘s seat, causing her to get up and pull up the eye mask on her face. Shescowled at me. “Wait until the children are not around. I‘ll kill you,” she hissed. She had taken a painreliever right before the take–off, and after checking if Angela needed something else, she reclined herseat and went to sleep. She lay her back again on the seat and put her eye mask on.

Dylan was on the bed, ignoring us.

“How about I sit there,” I said, kicking her seat again even if other seats were available. “Why don‘t yousleep with Dylan in the bed?” “Shut up, Sky. I‘m not sleeping with Dylan a–” She paused for a second.“Why don‘t you sleep beside him? I‘m not leaving Angela with you again.” I sat beside Angela. “You thinksomething happened between us last night, huh?” I glanced at the beautiful woman beside me. Eithershe was pretending, or she had really fallen asleep. “I don‘t know. I don‘t care. Leave me alone,” she

snarled in a low voice. “Did something happen last night?” I asked again. She heaved a deep sigh androlled her back, facing the small oval window of the plane. “You think I spread my legs last night becauseof Tequila, Sky?” She asked, her voice trembling. Angela leaned her head on my shoulder. “Tequila coulddo that, right?” She smirked, causing Anya to turn to us again, her eyes widened, but Angela puckeredher lips, pointing to her swollen foot. “Sorry, wrong choice of word. It‘s not spreading. Sky lifted my foot.”She covered Selene‘s ears. “Spreading legs is like waiting for something to enter you.” Anya rolled hereyes and turned to her other side again. “Sky, leave Anya alone. My head really hurts,” She breathedout.

As for what she wanted, I kept my mouth shut and stopped myself from lashing out at Anya. If this waslike the parties Leo, Jake, and I used to go to, I really didn‘t care who spread their legs to someone aftergetting drunk. But this is about Angela, Anya, and Dylan. I heaved a sigh, glancing at my daughters andpromising myself to watch them round the clock, and if anyone dared touch my girls, I would make thempay. I closed my eyes, wanting to laugh aloud when I realized fatherhood had just hit me.

“Daddy, why do we have to sleep here?” Leyanne asked when we entered Anya‘s house. “Why can‘t wejust go with you?” This was my first time stepping inside the house, and though it was smaller than theirspace in the penthouse, Angela preferred to stay here. Whether Anya or Dylan was the reason, I didn‘tcare anymore. “Kiss Daddy now,” Angela saved me from answering Leyanne. “Daddy and I will just go tothe doctor, so behave while Aunt Anya‘s looking out for you.”

I sat, squatting to reach her height so she could kiss me. Lyra Helene and Selene did the same.” Daddyhas lots of meetings this week. I‘ll see you when I can, okay?” They nodded. I knew Anya went to herbedroom, and she had not gone out since we came. “Where‘s Dylan?” I asked, standing up. “His realestate agent called,” Angela answered and kissed the girls. “Anya!” she yelled.” We‘re leaving.”

“Okay!” Anya yelled back, and a few seconds later, she went out of the room. “Come with me, cutemonkeys,” she smiled. “Thank you, Sky. Sorry about the game last night.” I nodded. “I had fun, and well...except for the dead sea urchin and Anj‘s foot, everything went well for the girls.” I guess that‘s whatmatters.

She chuckled. “Don‘t worry, the girls and I will light a candle for the poor urchin. I bet its soul if it has, willbe in their prayers later.” I grinned, agreeing with her. I witnessed how the girls prayed before sleeping; Ithought it would be dawn before they finished. I turned to Angela. “Ready?” I asked her. She nodded, and with my help, she hopped slowly toward the door. Angela didn‘t complain when I had to carry her tosit in the passenger seat. Even when we were on the road, she was not talking “You know what‘s thehardest part, Angela? It‘s when I don‘t know what is running on your mind?” I said, glancing at her andsighing as I returned my eyes to the road.

She smiled at me. “Remember that place?” she asked, her way of changing the topic. Shepointed at the familiar side of the road. “I was too crazy back then that I sobbed like somebodystole my candy away, and you asked me to get out of the car.” I groaned. “Oh, please, Anj. I wassurprised you did,” I sighed, hating she brought it up.

“I didn‘t know what got me, too? I hated you so much, but I just couldn‘t leave because of yourdad. Guilt was the only thing pushing me to go and see your father because it was my fault whyhe was there.” “Not yours alone, Anj. I should have used my brain instead of my stupid needs,” Iexplained, smiling apologetically at her. “As I once said, the heart has no brain on its own. Ishould have used my brain, too. I should have explained to Jake I wasn‘t the offering but theflowers.” She smiled sheepishly. “Jake has brought me the most –” “Ugliest flower,” she cut me,

laughing this time. I sighed. “I was about to say the most beautiful flower, Anj.” She pursed herlips and looked at the window. “What will happen to us, Anj?”.

She turned to me. “We will go back to that day, Sky. We will wait for Isaac to bring us the divorcepapers, and I will sign them, agreeing I won‘t be taking anything from you except for the things Irequested on that day. Then, you will be free to marry Lalaine, and I –” He cut me. “Will be free tomarry Dylan?” He squinted his eyes. “After what you saw? He just cheated on you,” I growled, gripping tight on the steering wheel “Perhaps it‘s my curse, sky. The man I married cheated onme once, kissing his ex–girlfriend in front of me,” she smiled sadly at me. “That day, I wishedsomeday I would replace a man who would kiss me the same. Like I was his world... I was someonewho he couldn‘t live without.” I swallowed hard as her words were sharp enough to wound myheart. If only Angela knew that it was like an awakening kiss for me, confusing me why my mindloved to kiss Lalaine at that time, but my heart yearned to kiss my wife like she was someone Icouldn‘t live without.
