Saving His Feral Mate
Chapter 20: Waterfall

Alpha Cameron POV

In a fit of rage, I threw the glass of scotch that I was holding against the wall and it shattered into a million pieces. My Beta and Gamma who were standing by my office door, flinched at my angry outburst. I was beyond angry my b***d was boiling. Not only did I fail at bringing back my mate, but I was chased off like a coward by a couple ghosts from my past. How the f**k are my half brothers still alive? They’re suppose to be dead. My father and I personally made the arrangements to have them killed along with their mother years go. Someone has some serious explaining to do.

“Bring me me Carter and Dean!” I ordered, with venom lacing my words.

“Yes Alpha.” My Beta Colin replied, in a fearful tone.

Without waiting any longer, both my Gamma and Beta ran out of the room leaving me alone.

I took a seat behind my desk and tried to calm myself down. This is all my i***t fathers fault. I thought to myself.

My father knocked up an omega before I was born. He threatened to kill her and her unborn twins if she told anyone that he was the father. He managed to keep it a secret for 16 years before my mother somehow found out. She went crazy with jealousy and rage, threatening to tell the world about his bastard children. My father killed my mother to prevent her from talking. He was ruthless, killing her didn’t even phase him, his reputation was way more important.

He told me that if anyone was to replace out their true identity, they would be the rightful heirs to the Alpha title when he retired. I wasn’t about to let that happen. I’m the rightful Alpha and no one’s taking that away from me.

My father and I sent a couple of warriors to their house one night. They were instructed to take Preston, Parker and their mother off our territory and kill them.

The next day, the warriors reported back to us that the job was done. We told the rest of the pack that the family was killed by rogues. No one dared to question us and everything went back to normal.

When I turned 18, my father was attacked and killed by rogues. That’s when I took over as Alpha. No one knew why my father crossed our border alone that night and the rogues that killed him were never found. I wonder if Preston and Parker had anything to do with it?

I was brought out of my thoughts by a knock at the door.

“Come in.” I announced.

The door opened and my Beta and Gamma walked in dragging Carter and Dean with them. Carter and Dean looked concerned but also confused. They were the two warriors that my father and I sent to kill the twins that night.

“Care to explain why Parker and Preston are still alive?” I asked in a dangerously calm tone.

I saw both their faces pale, when they processed my words.

“A-Alpha, we k-killed t-them. I don…” Carter started to speak, but I cut him off.

“Don’t lie to me. I saw them with my own two eyes.” I seethed, while standing from my chair and walking around my desk.

“Now, why aren’t they dead?” I asked, stopping directly in front of the two men who were now trembling in fear.

“W-we killed the O-Omega, but the t-twins w-were o-only k-kids. W-we couldn’t d-do…” This time Dean tried to reply.

Before he could finish his sentence, I elongated my nails and slashed his throat open. B***d splattered everywhere as he gripped his throat in his hands. Gargling sounds came out of his throat as he tried to breath. He fell onto his knees with wide eyes, before his body eventually fell lifelessly onto the floor.

I looked over at Carter, all the colour had drained from his face. He looked mortified by the sight in front of him.

“I-I’m s-sorry, p-please forgive m-me.” He said in a shaky voice.

“I won’t accept weakness in this pack. You failed to obey your Alpha’s orders. I sentence you to death.” I spat, before also slashing his throat open. I watched as he fell to the floor clutching onto his throat. His body eventually stopped convulsing, as the last bit of life left his body.

Killing them felt good, but it didn’t change the fact that I have a new problem to take care of.

“Take their bodies away and send Tessa in.” I ordered.

“Yes, Alpha.” Colin replied, trying to hide the fear in his tone. I internally smiled. I want people to fear me, that way no one will ever question my authority.

Since Chloe ran away, I’ve turned my aggression towards the only friend she had while she lived here, Tessa. I’ve taken all my anger and frustrations out of her over the years. She’s not Chloe though, she doesn’t have the same fire in her eyes that Chloe had when I punished her. Something about Chloe’s defiance made me want to break her even more. Tessa on the other hand, is already submissive it gets boring sometimes.

Looking back, I should of been able to tell that Chloe wasn’t an Omega, as much as she put on a submissive act, she was still defiant and resisted my commands. I should of seen the signs.

I was brought out of my thoughts by a knock at the door.

“Come in” I announced.

The door slowly opened and a frightened looking Tessa walked in with her head bowed. I smiled wickedly at the sight. I practically get off on the smell of fear and it was oozing out of her.

“You called for m…” She started to speak, but trailed off when her eyes took in the b***d splattered everywhere. They grew wide in both shock and fear. I could see her chest rising and falling at a rapid rate.

“Clean this mess.” I ordered in a casual tone, while watching her reaction. She raised her eyes to look at me but when her eyes met mine, she quickly lowered them.

“Yes, Alpha. I just need some supplies.” She practically whispered, before bowing and leaving my office.

I felt satisfied with her reaction, but before I could really enjoy tormenting her, I got a mind-link from one of my warriors.

‘Alpha, you need to come and see something at the Western border. It’s urgent.’ He said and I could hear concern in his voice.

‘What is it?’ I growled in frustration. I wanted to sit here and watch Tessa cleanup this mess.

‘One of the warriors on patrol was found dead. There was a note left on his body addressed to you.’ He replied and my b***d ran cold. Who the hell would dare to mess with me?

I quickly stood from my chair and stormed out of the room. Once I was outside, I shifted into my wolf, before running off to the Western border.

Once I arrived, I shifted back into my human form and took in the sight in front of me.

A half dozen of my warriors were standing around something. As I got closer, I saw the dismembered body of one of my best warriors laying on the ground. His head was no longer attached to his body, it was sitting on top of a stick embedded into the ground. Pinned to his head with a knife, was a piece of paper. I gulped at the gruesome sight, before ripping the piece of paper from his head. I unfolded it and read the note.

No point in us hiding, now that the secrets out. Be ready, we’re coming to take back what belongs to us, the pack and Alpha Title.

See you soon, dear brother.

I scrunched up the paper, before throwing it on the ground. Like f**k I’m going to let them take what belongs to me. I think it’s time to go hunting. When I replace them, they will die a slow and painful death.

Tatiana POV

Knox and I walked through the forest on his territory. I wasn’t sure where we were going, but I was thankful that there was no one around. I had my share of socializing for a day and really didn’t want to meet anyone else.

“It’s not much further.” Knox said, while smiling down at me.

“Where are we going?” I asked curiously.

“You’ll see.” He replied, with a mischievous smile.

I couldn’t deny how handsome he was. He had these little dimples when he smiled and they only made him more attractive. I was surprised that I didn’t feel worried about were he was taking me. I actually felt quiet safe. I guess subconsciously I must trust him a little.

I could hear running water in the distance and the closer we got, the loud it was.

After a few more minutes, we reached a cliff and I could hear water below. I gasped in awww, when I reached the edge. It was a beautiful waterfall, that fell into a small swimming hole. The water was crystal clear and I could see a rainbow in the mist. The cliff was approximate 20 feet above the swimming hole, but I noticed a trail that you I could use to walk down.

“What do you think?” Knox asked, while looking down at me.

“It’s beautiful.” I replied, without taking my eyes off the picturesque view.

Knox disappeared from my peripheral vision, but I didn’t think much of it. All of a sudden, I saw a flash beside me and looked over to see Knox wearing only his boxers, jumping off the cliff. My eyes went wide in shock, I mean it’s only 20 feet but how deep is the water?

I watched his body hit the water and disappeared underneath it. My heart was racing, I couldn’t help but worry for him. My eyes scanned over the water, impatiently waiting for him to surface. I finally let out a relieved breath, when I saw his head appear above water.

“Come in. It’s cold but refreshing.” He shouted and I smiled.

I am a wolf after all, swimming is second nature to us. Without even hesitating, I stripped out of my clothes leaving on my bra and panties. I took several steps back from the edge, before running towards it and leaping off the cliff. I held my legs with my arms and landed in the water like a cannon ball. It was exhilarating, I had never felt so alive.

After a few seconds I resurfaced and took in a deep breath. Knox was laughing, while swimming towards me.

“How was that?” He asked with a grin.

“Amazing.” I beamed excitedly.

In that moment, I felt Chloe coming forward and it made my smile widen. I knew she could feel everything I was feeling and I haven’t felt so alive in a long time.

“Chloe, did you enjoy that?” Knox asked. He could probably see the change in my eye colour when Chloe was peering out at him.

“I can feel her close to the surface, but she won’t talk to me.” I replied and he looked disappointed but only for a second, before a mischievous smile spread on his face and he dunked my head under water.

When I finally resurfaced I could hear him laughing at my shocked reaction. I splashed water at him and he did the same. We were both laughing and having a blast. I wasn’t thinking about anything else in that moment.

We eventually stopped playing around and I felt his hands grip my h**s, before pull me towards him. His laughter died down. I could see the desire swirling within his eyes that were darting between my own and my lips. Was he going to k**s me? I wondered. I wanted him to, but at the same time I wasn’t sure if I was ready.

“We should head back.” He said in a strained voice, while looking away from me. I knew it was taking all of his self control, not to push me beyond my comfort zone. I felt bad, but grateful at the same time.

He made his way out of the water and I followed. We walked up the little path that led to where we left out clothes. He was walking ahead of me and because of the hill his a*s was practically in my face. My wolf instincts kicked in and I leaned forward before inhaling deeply. At the exact same time, Knox turned around and looked at me with an eyebrow raised.

“Did you just smell my butt?” He asked with an amused smirk. I looked away sheepishly, silently cursing Chloe for not being in control of our human body right now. I’m a damn wolf, of course I can’t resist a butt sniff, especially when it’s right in my face.

“Don’t be embarrassed, I’d be doing the same thing if I didn’t think you would kill me for doing it.” He chuckled before winking at me, causing me to blush in embarrassment.

I heard Chloe snort in my head, causing me to freeze in shock. Was she laughing at me? Oh, hell no. She won’t talk to me, but she’ll laugh at my expense. Just wait till your back, you’ll pay for that. I said to her in my head.
