Saving His Feral Mate -
Chapter 27: Dinner for two
Alpha Knox POV
I was busy in meetings all day, but was struggling to focus. My mind was preoccupied with images of my beautiful red headed mate. My wolf and I were missing her and I couldn’t wait for the day to be over.
I had a candle light dinner planned for us in the garden and was hoping to make progress with her. I know Tatiana is more wolf than human, but I’m hoping by wining and dining her, I can bring Chloe forward. I know she’s in there and I’ve seen her eyes change more frequently lately.
I was brought out of my thoughts, when I heard my father speak.
“Knox, are you even listening?” He asked, sounded irritated.
“Of course, we’ll be hosting the Alpha meeting in a week.” I replied, hoping that I had picked up enough of the conversation to make it sound like I was listening.
“What do you think of inviting Alpha Alec and Alpha Cameron? I know they’re enemies, but we might be able to get some insight on what they have planned if they were included.” My father asked, while frowning.
“Absolutely not.” I replied sternly, unable to hide the hatred in my voice. I can’t even pretend to be civil with those two, not after replaceing out they hurt people I care for.
“Son, I think you should think about this. It could be an opportunity for us.” My father sighed in frustration.
“It’s not happening. Neither one of those two will ever be invited onto this territory.” I replied firmly, leaving no room for argument.
“Fine, but you know they won’t be happy about it.” My father added.
“I don’t give a s**t what they think about it. You know as well as I do, that they are the two packs that want to see ours crumble. Inviting them won’t change anything.” I replied, while gripping the edge of my desk so hard, my knuckles had turned white.
“I’ve heard that Alpha Alec has been trying to identify the two rogues you have so graciously allowed to stay on our territory. Are you sure they aren’t criminals or worse, spies?” My father asked in a condescending tone.
“Who I allow on this territory is none of his concern and there’s only one that’s still staying with us.” I replied, while struggling to reign in my anger.
“Is she the one who walks around naked? Or the one that seems to growl more than talk?” He asked sarcastically.
“Don’t start with me, father. This conversation is over. Make sure everything is ready and organized for the meeting next week. Maybe I’ll be able to fix some of the relationships you screwed up.” I replied, unable to stop myself from taking a jab at him. He had royally pissed me off in a matter of minutes.
“I did what was best for this pack, it’s time you did the same and stop messing around with a feral rogue and take a chosen mate.” He barked back.
“Not going to happen, this meeting is over.” I gritted out, while standing from my chair and storming out of the office. I was angry, but only for a second. Thanks to my father, I was able to leave thirty minutes early and spend more time with my little mate.
I headed towards my room and could smell her sweet fragrance along the way. I smiled to myself when I realized how fresh it was and knew she was likely in her room.
I mind-linked the head omega in the kitchen to make sure everything was ready for dinner. Which she replied that it was.
I inhaled deeply when I stood directly outside her room, letting myself get lost in her intoxicating scent. I was so excited to see her, I almost knocked. I resisted the urge and headed to my room. I wanted to freshen up, before seeing her.
Once I showered and dressed in something a little more casual, I made my way to her bedroom door and knocked.
After a few seconds of waiting, the door opened and Tatiana stood on the other side, looking like the goddess that she was. She had on a simple pair of black leggings and a dark blue tank top. My eyes probably lingered on her chest a few seconds longer then they should of, but there was no stopping it. Her breasts weren’t massive, but they had some weight to them. In my eyes they were perfect, just like the rest of her.
“I hope I’m not interrupting?” I asked, with a grin that I couldn’t hide even if I tried. Just seeing the woman made me smile.
“No you’re not.” She replied and her smile told me that she was just as excited to see me.
“I have a surprise for you. I hope you haven’t eaten yet?” I said and her eyes lighten slightly, letting me know that Chloe was curious about what I had planned.
“I haven’t, but I think I’ve socialize enough for one day.” She replied with a sigh, probably thinking I was going to take her to the dinner hall to eat.
“I promise, the only person you’ll have to socialize with, is me.” I said, with a toothy grin. It must of been a good one, because she laughed lightly at my words.
“Well then, where are we going?” She asked curiously.
“You’ll see.” I replied, while offering her my arm. I was relieved when she took it right way and followed me down the hall without hesitation.
We made our way out to the garden in comfortable silence. I knew she was getting more comfortable around me, but she wasn’t use to the human way of living. She preferred things simple, without the added fluff and to be completely honestly, I did too.
“I thought we could have a quiet dinner alone tonight.” I said, as we walked into the garden and the candle light dinner came into sight.
“You did this?” She questioned, while her eyes took everything in.
There was a small table with two chairs and a few candles in the middle. In front of each seat was a covered plate. There was an expensive bottle of red wine, as well as a couple wine glasses.
“Of course and I’ll continue to do this for you and Chloe until the day I die.” I replied. I know it was a bit cheesy, but hell, if cheese is what I need to win her over, I’m ready to lay it on thick.
“Sit, my lady.” I said, while pulling out one of the chairs for her. She didn’t argue and quickly took a seat. I moved to the other side and took my own seat.
“I guess I’m suppose to ask how your day was? Right?” She asked, causing me to chuckle. She was a wolf after all, trying to act like a human. Of course socializing wasn’t her strong suite.
“We can talk about whatever you want. If you prefer to sit in silence, I’m ok with that too.” I offered and I saw her visibly relax.
I lifted the lids off both plates and set them to the side. I saw her eyes darken when she took in the simple steak and potato meal. I had come to figure out it was her favourite. I couldn’t help but wonder if it was Chloe’s as well.
“Thank you.” She said softly.
“You’re welcome. How was your day?” I asked casually, while pouring us each a glass of wine.
“It was alright. I ran into Jag in the kitchen and Sheryl when I was heading back to my room.” she replied, but frowned when she mentioned Sheryl. I wonder what that was about?
“Oh, how was that?” I asked curiously, while trying to sound casual.
“Jag is very fond of you. He’s definitely a loyal Beta and friend.” She replied truthfully. I was surprised at how good she was at reading people.
“What about Sheryl? What did she have to say?” I asked and I saw her frown again , making me wonder what happened.
“I like Sheryl. I can tell she’s genuine and caring. How did someone like her, get mated to someone like Kyle?” She blurted out, but the question was more to herself.
“Honestly, I’ve asked myself self that same question many times.” I replied, while shaking my head.
“I don’t trust him.” She said, causing me to freeze as I was about to take another bite. I looked over at her and she seemed to be having an internal battle, like she wanted to say more, but decided against it.
“Did you see him today?” I asked curiously.
“Ya, he was with Sheryl.” She replied, without looking me in the eyes.
“Did something happen?” I asked, now feeling a little concerned.
“No, I just don’t like him.” She grumbled, but I could tell she was lying. I wonder what happened? I wanted to push further, but decided against it. If she wanted to tell me, she would have.
We finished eating and the conversation moved away from Kyle. We talked a bit about her upbringing, but she was very vague and kept the conversation short.
She told me that her mother raised her and that she didn’t know who her father was. She said her mother died, but when I asked what happened, she was quick to change the subject. I didn’t miss the anger and sadness in her eyes. I hope one day I can get her to trust me and open up.
“Would you like to go for a walk?” I ask, trying to change the subject and lighten the mood. I stood from my chair and extending my hand for her to take.
“Sure.” She replied, with an appreciative smile. Her eyes went wide when she grabbed ahold of my hand and we both felt sparks. It made me smile. We’ve touched a bunch of times already, but the sensation never gets old.
We walked around the garden in silence, it was actually really refreshing to spend so much time with someone, without feeling obliged to converse.
“There’s going to be an Alpha meeting here next week.” I said breaking the silence and she instantly stiffened.
“Alpha Cameron and Alpha Alec won’t be invited.” I added and she relaxed slightly.
“What’s the meeting for?” She asked curiously.
“My father wasn’t the best at keeping allies. I call this damage control. I would like to rebuilt some of the broken relationships with neighbouring packs.” I explained and she nodded.
“Don’t worry, you don’t have to be part of the meeting if you’re not comfortable with it.” I reassured her.
“Thank you.” Is all she said.
“It’s getting late, how about I escort you back to your room.” I offered, with a smile and she nodded.
We made it up to our floor and stopped when we reached her bedroom door.
I so desperately wanted to k**s her, but given our situation, I had made the decision to let her make the first move. I hope one day she does, or I might lose my damn sanity.
“Thanks for having dinner with me.” I said, trying not to show my internal struggle. To my surprise, she seemed to also be struggling.
She didn’t reply, but I saw her eyes flicker from dark to light and actually stay light. I knew Chloe was at the surface and it got me excited. I usually would try to talk to her in this situations, but today I decided on a different approach. I ran my tongue along my lower l*p and watched her light blue eyes follow the action hungrily.
“You must be tired. Have a good sleep and I’ll see you in the morning.” I said in a low husky voice, while moving my lips to her cheek and pecking it gently. I felt her shiver, when my lips touched her skin.
Before I knew what was happening, she pushed me up against the opposite wall and smashed her lips with mine. I was completely shocked. Ok, I was trying to tease her a little, but I definitely didn’t think it was going to work.
It only took a second for the shock to wear off and for me to deepen the k**s.
The k**s was needy and full of passion. Her arms snaked around my neck, while her hands made their way into my hair. I pulled her body tightly to mine and let my hands roam up and down her back, before squeezing her a*s. She m****d at the action and I could smell her arousal. My control was quickly fading. I wanted more, so much more.
I couldn’t believe this was actually happening. How the hell did I manage to tempt this goddess? If I ever figure it out, I’ll have to write a book about it. That s**t would sell.
All of a sudden, I felt her body stiffen and she tried to pull away. No,no,no, please don’t pull away. I silently begged, while trying to hold her in place.
“You’ve got to be kidding me!” Tatiana exclaimed, surprising me enough that I let her go. I looked into her eyes and was concerned for a second that she was mad at me.
“Seriously Chloe? He licks his damn lips and you lose control? I’m the wolf. I should be the one that’s struggling to resist the bond, not you.” Tatiana scolded her human, not even realizing that she had spoken out loud instead of in her head. I actually had to look away to hide the amusement on my face.
“In her defence, I’m pretty irresistible.” I teased, with a grin.
“You weren’t supposed to hear that.” Tatiana replied, sounding flustered.
“I should probably let you scold your human in private. Have a goodnight, Tatiana.” I said, before trailing my tongue over my lower l*p again. It’s worth a shot right? Maybe it might work on Tatiana as well?
“You’re seriously going to try the tongue thing again?” She asked, while crossing her arms over her chest. She was trying to look serious, but I could see the amusement swirling in her eyes.
“It was worth a shot.” I replied with a shoulder shrug and a cheeky grin.
“You’re unbelievable. Goodnight, Knox.” She said, while shaking her head and chuckling lightly.
“Goodnight Tatiana and Chloe. I hope you dream about that k**s.” I teased and winked at her. She continued to chuckle, as she walked into her room and closed the door behind her.
I went into my own room, with a permanent smiled etched on my face. I can’t believe how great this night ended. I’m going to crave those lusciously, plump lips of hers.
