Saving His Feral Mate
Chapter 49: A mission

Preston POV

Tonight was going to be a big night. The Alpha meeting was in full effect and we were hunkered down outside of Cameron’s territory, waiting for nightfall.

Earlier in the day we saw three black SUV’s leave the territory. Cameron, his Beta and a couple warriors were in the first one, while the second and third were loaded with more warriors. It seemed like he was more concerned with this meeting than he was about protecting his territory.

We waited for the sun to set before making a move.

I was feeling anxious, I wanted nothing more than to kill Cameron and take back what was rightfully ours. But that wasn’t going to happen, not tonight anyway.

Tonight’s mission was step one in achieving our end goal. We were going to take one of the most important things from Cameron, his money.

Once darkness took over, we started getting ready.

I pulled out a spray bottle from my backpack, it contained an herb concoction that would mask our scent.

Once I was done spraying myself, I handed the bottle Parker and he did the same, before handed the bottle to Bert.

Bert was another rogue, we met him a year ago and took him under our wing. He can’t fight worth s**t, but the guy’s a complete genius. He was mistreated in his old pack because of how weak they thought he was, they never saw his true potential. He eventually ran away. He might not be a fighter, but he made up for in other ways. Did I mention he can hack into any computer, system or program within minutes? Ya, whoever didn’t see this kids worth was a dumbass.

When we first met him a year ago, he was in rough shape. He was laying in the forest waiting to die. I remember my brother and I approaching him cautiously in wolf form. When he opened his eyes to look at us, we knew right away that he wasn’t a threat. He was around 17 years old and looked scared shitless. He just laid there and waiting for us to end his suffering. Obviously we didn’t kill him, instead we took him under our wing and protected him like his pack should have in the first place. We taught him how to fight, I’ll admit he’s not very good, but the guy puts in the effort and never complains. What more can you ask for? He quickly became like a little brother to us.

Once our scent was masked, my brother pulled out a couple syringes of wolfbane and handed a few to myself and Brett. We would only use the wolfbane if someone saw us.

We were hoping to complete this mission undetected, but if s**t were to hit the fan, Parker and I would do the fighting. Bert was instructed to run and not look back.

“You guys ready?” I asked and they both nodded in unison.

We slowly started making our way through the forest and across the border. Once we were across, we cautiously moved towards the pack house.

I could see lights in between the trees up ahead and knew that we were getting close. My heart was beating fast and the adrenaline was rushing through my veins.

I heard a twig snap behind me and quickly spun around and pulled out my hunting knife from my h*p holster.

A brown wolf stepped out from behind a bush and stopped when he noticed us. He immediately shifted into his human form and I recognized him right away, Toby, a pack warrior. He must have been on patrol.

“What are you guys doing here?” He whispered when he got close enough.

Oh, did I mention we still have allies within the pack? We might have been 16 when we became rogues, but we still had friends. Toby was one of them, he was the same age as us and one of our closest friends. He’s loyal to the bone and eager for us to take over as Alphas.

“Just gonna leave a surprise for our brother, we know he’s out for the evening.” Parker replied with a smug smirk.

“Do you guys need any help?” Toby asked.

“Nah, hopefully we’re in and out without anyone noticing.” I replied.

“There’s only me and 5 others on patrol tonight. Cameron brought a lot of warriors with him to the meeting, so when you leave come back this way. I’m the only one on this side of the border.” He advised.

“Awesome, thanks man.” I replied with a nod.

“Don’t mention it.” He shrugged.

“No seriously, you have no idea how much we appreciate you brother.” Parker added, before giving him a brotherly hug.

“Who was left in charge?” I asked.

“Gamma Gordon.” He replied, while scrunching up his nose in disgust.

Gordon was our age and I think his picture should be next to the definition of small man syndrome. He was short and stalky, with the smallest d**k I’ve ever seen. I’m pretty confident that the average infant was born with a bigger d**k than his adult one. I know I’m probably talking about his manhood a bit much, but it’s like a train wreck when you see it you just can’t look away. The guy was also a complete a*****e and always tried to compensate for his short comings by acting like a tough guy even with women. The only reason he was given the Gamma title was because of his loyalty to Cameron.

“Our dear brother isn’t going to be very happy with his Gamma when we’re done here tonight.” Parker replied with a smirk.

“I don’t even want to know what you guys are up to.” Toby replied and chuckled.

“All right man, we better get going.” I added.

“Good luck.” He replied before turning around and walking away from us.

Parker, Bert and I kept moving forward until we reach the tree line. We paused to scanned the area, but saw no one. The pack house was 50 feet in front of where we stood and all the lights appeared to be turned off.

“It’s show time.” I said and I glanced between Parker and Bert to make sure they were ready. When they both nodded, I took off in a sprint towards the building. I could hear Parker hot on my heals and Bert was somewhere behind him.

Once we reach the building, I leaned up against it and Parker did the same. We watch our poor buddy Bert trying to catch up, he was a good distance behind us.

“f**k you guys are fast.” He said, while panting heavily and putting his hands on his knees. Parker and I just laughed.

“You make up for your lack of speed with brains.” I replied and patted him on the shoulder.

Once he caught his breath we made our way to the back door. I knew it would be the safest way for us to get in and out undetected. The door was only used by the omegas and I definitely wasn’t worried about them.

We snuck inside and made our way towards the Alpha’s office. The hall was empty, but as soon as the office came into sight we froze when we heard a loud crashing sound.

I looked at Parker and he had the same concerned expression on his face. What the f**k was that? Within seconds we heard another crash followed by a high pitch scream. It was definitely a girl who had screamed.

I started moving faster down the hall and I could hear a man yelling and a woman pleading with him. It was definitely coming from within the office.

“You f*****g b***h, how dare you make a mess in here.” I heard Gordon roar from inside the room, followed by the sound of a woman whimpering.

Rage consumed me and I didn’t even think twice before throwing the office door opened.

Gordon was holding a young woman by the throat and had his fist pulled back like he was ready to punch her. It was clear by the injuries on her face that he had already taken a couple shots.

His eyes widen in shock when he saw us, but before he could react I drew my knife and threw it at him. It pierced through the middle of his forehead and within seconds, his lifeless body fell to the ground with a loud thud. The initial plan wasn’t to kill anyone, but that went right out the window when I saw his hands on that poor girl.

“Nice shot.” Bert said, while looking down at the Gamma and admiring my handy work.

“Damn it, I wanted to be the one to end that prick.” Parker grumbled, as he closed the door to the office and locked it.

I ignored them and made my way over to the trembling girl who was now curled up on the floor, sobbing.

“It’s ok. We aren’t going to hurt you.” I said softly and gently touched her arm.

She opened her eyes and looked up at me. I recognized her immediately as, Tessa, she was one of the Omegas and always hung out with Chloe. It took her a few minutes, but then her eyes widened and I knew she recognized Parker and I.

“Y-you g-guys are d-dead.” She strutted, while looking between my brother and I.

“That’s a long story, I’ll explain that later. Where are you hurt?” I asked, while assessing her for injuries. She had an obvious black eye and a split l*p, but her body was cover with a dress, so I couldn’t tell if she had anymore.

“I’m ok, maybe a couple broken ribs, but that’s about it.” She said and I knew she was down playing her injuries, the pain was written all over her face.

“You shouldn’t stay here. Cameron will definitely take his anger out on you when he gets back and replaces his Gamma dead.” I told her and watched as more tears fell from her eyes.

“I don’t have anywhere else to go.” She practically whispered.

“If you come with us, I know a pack that will take you.” I replied and I saw the hesitation in her face.

“Chloe’s there. She’s the Alpha’s mate.” I added and her eyes lit up like a Christmas tree.

“Chloe? My Chloe?” She asked and I nodded.

“I’ll come.” She replied immediately, while wiping the tears from her cheeks.

“It’s me.” Tesso replied softly.

“Who hurt you?” She growled.

“Ok, hang tight for a few minutes. We have a few things we need to do and then we’ll be on our way.” I explained and she nodded.

Parker and Bert were already working on accomplishing our mission. Bert was behind the compute typing away and Parker was going through the drawers and cabinets.

“Find anything?” I asked Parker, as I watched him rummaging through the desk drawer.

“Not yet…” He replied, but then I saw his eyebrows furrow as he reached into the bottom drawer and knocked against the very back wall.

“I think I might have found something.” He said.

“A hidden compartment?” I asked curiously.

“Yup.” He replied, while pulling out a piece of wood that was painted in the same mahogany colour as the desk. He then reached his hand in and pulled out a thumb drive from the very back.

“It must be important if it was hidden.” He said with a victorious smile, while looking at the thumb drive.

“I can’t wait to see what’s on it.” I replied, with my own excited grin.

“Done.” Bret announced proudly, drawing our attention to him.

“You already completed the transfer?” I asked in complete shock.

“All 12 million of it.” He replied.

“f**k dude that was fast.” Parker exclaimed, while mirroring my shocked expression.

“This ain’t my first rodeo.” Bert replied with a cocky grin, making us both chuckle. The guy has really come out of his shell since we first met him.

“Awesome! Now let’s get out of here.” I said.

“Wait, I gotta leave our dear brother a note.” Parker replied with a wicked smirk.

I saw him write something on a piece of paper, before placing it on Gordon’s chest.

“Tessa, can you walk?” I asked with a concerned frown.

“Ya, I can walk.” She replied, as she stood from the ground with a painful expression on her face. She took a few steps and I notice she was limping. She was going to slow us down and I couldn’t have that.

“I’m going to carry you, we need to hurry.” I informed her, as I scooped her up into my arms bridal style. A surprised gasp left her lips, but she didn’t argue.

We left the office and cautiously made our way through the hall and out the backdoor. Once outside we heard a couple voices in the distance, but they were heading away from us.

We waited a few minutes to make sure they were gone before making a run for the tree line. Once we reached it, I saw Toby in wolf form. He nodded his head at us and we did the same before continuing on our way towards the border. It took us 15 minutes to finally cross it.

We had to stay in our human form, Tessa couldn’t shift because of her injuries. It took us a couple hours, but we finally made it to Alpha Knox’s border.

We went to the main gates and found 2 guards. One of them asked for our names and proceeded to mind-link with someone. I’m assuming Jo, since Knox had told us that he would be the one in charge tonight.

After 10 minutes I saw Jo, Max and Chloe walking towards the gates.

I felt Tessa start to wiggle in my arms, so I gently put her down on her feet.

“Tessa?” Chloe asked with a surprised tone.

“It’s me.” Tessa replied softly.

“Open the gate.” Chloe ordered and I saw the guard hesitate for a minute, before looking at Jo. Chloe growled at the guard and he flinched. It made me chuckle, the girl definitely had Alpha b***d running in her veins.

“Open it.” Jo ordered and the guards immediately complied.

Chloe ran to Tessa and pulled her into a bone crunching hug. Tessa let out an “ow” at the action and Chloe pulled away. That’s when she noticed the injuries.

“Who hurt you?” She growled.

“Tonight. Gamma Gordon, but they took care of him.” She replied, while pointing towards us. I nodded to Chloe, confirming that we did in fact take care of him and she smiled gratefully.

“Good. Now tell us what happened?“ She asked, sounding slightly calmer.

“Let’s go talk in the office. I’ll have to call Alpha Knox.” Jo suggest before we all headed towards the pack house.

Once inside the office, Chloe brought Tessa over to the couch and helped her sit down. Jo went and sat behind the desk.

I explained how we found Tessa and what happened with Gordon, but left out why we were there in the first place. They don’t need to know about that yet.

Once we were done, Jo called Alpha Knox and updated him on what happened. Knox was quick to grant Tessa permission to stay on his territory. We found out that the meeting was over and Knox and Jag were on their way home. I’m actually kinda curious to hear how it went.
