Saving His Feral Mate -
Chapter 52: A run
Tatiana POV
I was looking forward to running with Gunner, especially with everything that had happened this past week. I felt overwhelmed and extremely pent up. It was great having Chloe back, but at the same time, I wasn’t use to being locked up in her sub-conscience anymore.
As soon as Chloe stripped out of her clothes, she handed over control and I shifted into our wolf. I turned around to replace Knox had done the same. His wolf, Gunner, stood in front of me and his eyes immediately found mine. He was a large black wolf, who radiated with power and dominance.
He was looking at me intently, like a predator would his prey. I watched his tongue dart out and lick his muzzle.
I slowly walked in his direction, until I stood directly in front of him. His eyes remained locked with mine as I took in his wolf form.
I nuzzled my snout into his neck and playfully nipped at his ear, causing a low growl to rumble in his chest.
I proceeded to rub my entire body against his and this time the rumble sounded more like a purr. I nipped at his hind leg and could tell he was getting ready to pounce, but before he could attack I took off in a full sprint.
He let out a long howl, before I heard his paws hammering against the ground. The thought of him chasing me was exciting. I wasn’t going to make it easy on him, a worthy mate needs to prove himself and I was going to make him do just that.
I zoomed around trees and over large rocks in an attempt to lose him. I was fast, but by the sound of his paws hitting the ground behind me, I knew he was faster.
I started making sharp turns and backtracking whenever I was out of sight. When I reached a creek, I quickly leaped over it knowing it would slow him down. Once on the other side I continued to run.
I had been running for 10 minutes and could no longer hear Gunner behind me. I chanced a glance over my shoulder and to my surprise he was nowhere in sight. I slowed my pace and lifted my snout in the air in an attempt to pickup his scent, but couldn’t.
I turned around and was about to head back, when I heard rustling in the bushes behind me. I once again spun around and lowered my body to the ground in a defensive position. My ears perked up and I scanned the trees for any movement.
All of a sudden, I saw a black flash in the corner of my eye and before I could react I was tackled to the ground.
We rolled several feet before coming to a complete stop. I was pinned to the ground by a heavy mass and his intoxicating scent quickly hit my senses. When I looked up, my eyes met with his mesmerizing green ones, that’s when I knew I had been caught.
Gunner nuzzled my neck, before licking my face and ears. His body remained on top of mine, while he showered me with love and affection. I was loving every minute of it.
He eventually laid beside me and I curled up against him. A content grunt left his snout, before he laid his head across my neck.
‘I want our mate, Chloe.’ I whined in my head.
‘I know, I do too.’ She replied with a heavy sigh.
‘Then why haven’t you let Knox mark us?” I asked with a hint of irritation in my tone.
I understood her hesitation at the beginning, but Knox has gone above and beyond to prove himself to us. I think it’s time we accept our mate.
‘They love us, Chloe.’ I added when she didn’t reply.
‘I know they do.’ She said softly, sounding slightly defeated.
‘They will protect us. Cameron can’t hurt us anymore.’ I added.
‘He can’t hurt us directly, but he can still hurt the ones we love. Look what he did to Tom and Betty, or Tessa.’ She argued.
‘We have everyone we love here, on Knox’s territory. We don’t have to worry about him hurting anyone else.’ I replied and she sighed.
‘We need to kill him, that’s when I’ll be able to move on.’ She said and her voice was barely above a whisper.
‘We will, our mate will help us.’ I replied, but she didn’t answer me. I knew she was likely pondering my words.
I laid with Gunner for over an hour simply enjoying our time together. All the anger I was feeling early had vanished and was replaced with love and contentment.
After a while, I felt Gunner nudge my neck with his nose, before motioning with his head towards the way we arrived. I whined in protest, not wanted to leave yet and rolled onto my back.
A playful growl left his chest, as he nipped at my front paws. He continued nipping at me until I finally gave in and stood up.
He took off towards the pack house and I reluctantly followed. I wish we could have stayed out here forever, but he was right, it was time to get back. The sun had already started to rise and we had yet to get any sleep.
Once we reached the tree line, I handed control over to Chloe and she shifted into our human form.

Chloe POV
Tatiana’s words weighed heavy on my mind. I knew she was ready to accept our mate and to be completely honest, I was too. I was mad at myself for letting Cameron get in the way of my happiness. Maybe it was time for me to accept Knox and show Cameron that he doesn’t control my life anymore.
I had been completely lost in my own thoughts. I didn’t realize I had shifted in front of Gunner. Only when I heard a low growl did my eyes snap in his direction.
Within seconds, he shifted into his human form and stood across from me completely naked. His eyes slowly roamed up and down my body, taking in every inch of my bare skin. I took the opportunity to do the same.
“We need to run more often if this is what I get to see.” He growled while stalking towards me.
“Down boy.” I teased, while subconsciously taking a step back
“Goddess you’re beautiful.” He said, completely ignoring my last words.
He grabbed my waist and pulled my body flush against his. I gasped when I felt his e******n push against my stomach.
My back hit the tree behind me, before his lips came crashing down on mine.
He kissed me roughly, while his hands roamed my body. Heat rushed to my core as a m**n left my lips.
I felt his hands travel down to my a*s. He grabbed both cheeks roughly, before lifting me up. I instinctively wrapped my legs around his waist and felt his c**k push against my core. Butterflies invaded my stomach and a strong wave of arousal washed over me.
His lips continued to assault mine, while I rubbed my slick p***y against the tip of his c**k. He made sure not to thrust inside of me and I was getting frustrated. I wanted him, there was no doubt in my mind. My body was on fire and he was the only one that could put it out.
“We need to stop before I can’t.” He growled, while pulling away from the k**s. I watched his jaw clench and unclench several times. I knew he was struggling to remain in control.
“Don’t stop.” I pleaded, while attacking his neck with my lips. I heard him g***n, as he tilted his head back and gave me better access. I ran my tongue from the bottom of his throat, up to his jaw and felt him shiver in response.
“f**k, Chloe. You’re making it hard for me to stick to my word.” He g*****d in frustration.
“What word?” I asked breathlessly, while rocking my h**s against him.
“I want you, but I want all of you. I don’t want it to be just s*x.” He confessed and I could hear the pain in voice.
“I’m all yours Knox, mind, body and soul.” I replied and he instantly stiffened.
“What are you saying, Chloe?” He asked and I could see the hopeful look in his eyes.
“I want you to mar…” I started, but immediately stopped when I heard a twig snap in the bushes beside us. I knew Knox had heard it to, his eyes also snapped in that direction.
He quickly put me down on my feet before taking a protective stance in front of me.
A brown wolf emerged from the bushes, before shifting into his human form. I immediately recognized the man to be one of the pack warriors.
“Shane, what are you doing here?” Knox growled, while making sure his warrior couldn’t see my naked body.
“Sorry, Alpha. I’m on patrol tonight. I heard a noise and was just investigating.” He replied nervously.
“S-Sorry for interrupting.” He added, while quickly averting his eyes.
“We were just out for a run.” Knox tried to explain, but I think it was a little late for that. His giant e******n was a bit of a giveaway.
“Of course.” He replied, while nodding his head rapidly.
“You’re excuse Shane.” Knox added with a sigh and I’ve never seen a man leave as quickly as Shane left this awkward situation.
“s**t! Sorry about that.” Knox said, while turning his attention to me. I was still trying not to laugh.
“It’s ok.” I replied.
“You know, a lot of people are getting suspicious. We should really think about tell them soon.” Knox suggested.
“Ok.” I replied with a soft smile and watched his eyes widened in shock.
“Ok? You’re ready to tell people that we’re mates?” He asked and his voice matched his shocked expression. I couldn’t help but chuckle, he looked cute all naked and shocked.
“I agree, I think it’s time we announce it.” I replied with a nod.
He was about to speak when I noticed his eyes glaze over. I knew he was receiving a mind-link.
A minute later they went back to their normal colour and he let out a frustrated sigh.
“Who was it?” I asked curiously.
“It was one of my warriors. He said Alpha Victor’s on the phone, he wants to talk to me.” He replied.
“What do you think he wants?” I asked curiously.
“Probably to discuss what happened at the Alpha meeting.” He replied, while rubbing his hands down his face.
“Let’s go then.” I said, while grabbing my clothes from the base of the tree and quickly getting dressed.
“What have I ever done to you, Moon Goddess?” He grumble under his breath, while picking up his own clothes.
“We aren’t done with this conversation.” He said a bit louder, making sure that I heard him.
“I promise, we will continue this later.” I replied with a soft chuckle.
Knox got dressed and we started walking back to the pack house.
Once we reached the pack house we made our way to his office. The sun was now up and it was early in the morning.
We reached the office found one of my warriors standing inside.
“Alpha, he’s on line 2.” The warrior announced.
“Thank you. You’re excused.” Knox replied and the warrior bowed before leaving the room.
Knox went and sat behind his desk and I sat across from him.
I watched him pickup the phone and greet Alpha Victor. It wasn’t hard for me to hear the entire conversation with my werewolf hearing.
“Alpha Knox, thanks for taking my call.” Victor said.
“It no problem, I was actually going to call you myself today. I hope Xander didn’t get himself in too much trouble” Knox replied.
“Nah, nothing he didn’t deserve for that little temper tantrum, he’s spending a week in cells for it. It would have been much worse for you, had you completed that shift.” He pointed out, clearly he had noticed how close Knox was to shifting into his wolf.
“I owe Xander for that one.” Knox replied sheepishly, while rubbing the back of his neck and I heard Victor let out a deep chuckle.
“May I ask why Xander did what he did?” Knox asked.
“You’ll have to ask him that yourself.” Victor said firmly.
“I will.” Knox replied with a sigh.
“Xander wasn’t the reason for my call. I was actually calling to offer you my help.” Victor stated and I saw a curious expression cross Knox’s face.
“What kind of help?” Knox asked.
“That girl that Alpha Alec was looking for, Max. She was the other rogue that was staying with you, wasn’t she?” Victor asked and my eyes instantly widened in surprise. Why was he asking about Max?Knox’s face matched my thoughts and he didn’t reply right away.
“Your silence answered my question. Don’t worry, I have no intentions of giving her up. I was actually going to offer you or rather her, a place to hideout while you figure out how to clear her name.” Victor replied, catching both Knox and I off guard. Why was he willing to help us? I felt suspicious, but at the same time, he sounded sincere.
“Thank you Alpha Victor, I truly appreciate the offer, but she actually left my territory a few hours ago.” Knox replied truthfully.
“I see. Well the offer stands if she needs somewhere to hideout. It wouldn’t be the first time I’ve successfully hidden someone from Alpha Alec. I’m well aware of the horrendous things that go on in his pack. I’m also very familiar with Max’s first mate, he was far from a good man. I have no doubt he deserved whatever she did to him.” Victor added and his voice turned bitter when he mentioned Max’s first mate. I wonder how he knows him?
“I’ll be sure to pass along your offer if I see Max.” Knox replied.
“Thank you.” Victor said.
“Please, have Xander call me when he gets release, I would like to thank him personally.” Knox added.
“Will do, take care Alpha Knox.” Victor replied before the line disconnected.
“Do you think we can trust him?” I asked Knox with a curious frown.
“I do…” Knox replied quickly, but looked deep in thought.
“I believed what he said, but I’m not exactly sure why he would risk getting in trouble for someone he doesn’t know.” Knox added with a thoughtful frown.
He was right. Why would Victor be willing to help max? He doesn’t even know her and he could get in serious trouble with the council if they ever found out.
