Saving His Feral Mate -
Chapter 56: A storm brewing
Alpha Cameron POV
It’s been almost a week since my brothers stole my money. I had to ask Alpha Alec for a loan and I hated how it made me look weak and pathetic. How f*****g embarrassing? This has to end, I will get my money back and kill those two idiots once and for all.
The money was really the least of my concerns. What if they showed the thumb drive to the council? Hell, they could already be plotting my demise, I need to act and fast. I knew I shouldn’t have kept those documents, they could literally destroy me. My stupid father always kept records of everything and now it might bite me in the a*s.
I felt like I was losing control and I f*****g hated it. My stupid brothers had a leg up on me and I needed to change that. I can’t let them win, I won’t let two bastard kids out smart me.
I got information on another matter that wasn’t helping my mood. My mate let some weak, pathetic Alpha mark her. I was livid when my source contacted me. It sent me into a fit of rage, I ended up killing an omega that day. How f*****g dare she let someone else claim her? She’s MINE! Mine to claim, mine to torture and mine to kill.
The sooner I kill my brothers, the sooner I can focus on getting my mate back. When I do, I’m going to break that b***h so badly she won’t even remember her own name. The thought alone makes me hard. I love instilling fear in people and that’s exactly what I plan on doing to Chloe. It was all about control for me. I need it in all aspects of my life, including her, the mate who dared runaway.
I was brought out of my thoughts when there was a knock on my office door.
“What?!” I barked, not liking the fact that someone was interrupted me while I thought about my slutty little mate.
“It’s me, I have an update regarding your brothers.” My Beta announced from the other side of the door.
“Come in” I ordered. I was irritated, but also anxious to hear what information he had for me.
I sent out some scouts a few days ago to search for my brothers. I’m hoping they were able to replace a camp or hangout so we have a starting point.
The door opened and my Beta, Carl, walked in.
“Alpha, the scouts are back and they found where your brothers are camping out.” He announced while taking a seat across from me.
“Good, where?” I asked pointedly, my irritation was now gone and replaced with determination. This might be my opportunity to finally get rid of those two bastards.
“They’re actually camping out not that far from Alpha Knox’s border.” He replied and just like that my b***d started boiling again. Were they working together? Of course they were, especially now that Chloe was mated to that Clown. The twins were always fond of her when we were younger, almost like protective brothers. I hated it.
“s**t!” I seethed.
“Were they alone?” I asked, while my hands balled into fists.
“No, they had a few other rogues with them. Maybe five. It was hard to tell, the scouts couldn’t get close enough without being detected.” He replied.
“Five, that’s nothing. Put a team of 30 warriors together, we’re going hunting.” I ordered, with a sinister edge in my tone.
This was my opportunity, I’m going to destroy them. They won’t even see it coming. We just need to make sure we do it discreetly and fast. Things could go sideways if Alpha Knox gets involved. Luckily they’re staying in rogue territory and none of his men should be out there after nightfall.
“Yes Alpha.” Carl replied before standing and bowing his head.
“Make it quick. I want everyone out front in 30 minutes.” I added.
“Of course Alpha.” He replied before leaving the room.
My brothers don’t even know what’s coming, it’s about to get interesting. I can’t wait to see the look on their faces, when I rip their f*****g hearts out.

Parker POV
Preston and I were pretty excited for tomorrow. It took a little convincing, but the council eventually agreed to meet with us. At first they wouldn’t even give us the time of day because of our rogue status, but when we mentioned Alpha Cameron that seemed to piqued their curiosity.
I was hoping the information we found would be enough for them to take action against him. At the very least, there should be enough evidence to prove who our father was and that we were the rightful heirs to the pack.
Our situation definitely wasn’t common and I had no clue how the council would react. But one thing was for sure, they wouldn’t be able to ignore the evidence. They would have to open an investigation into the matter. Hell, they can demand a DNA test if they don’t believe us. We’ve got nothing to hide.
Everything had been quiet and calm around camp the past few days and it wasn’t sit well with me. I could almost feel the storm brewing in my gut. My wolf had been anxious and I’m not sure if it was because of our mate or because of how calm it had been. For some reason I think it was the later.
My brother and I had been on edge lately, I knew the mate issue had been bugging him as much as it was bugging me. I’ve caught him a couple of times lurking at the border trying to get a glimpse of our mate. Whenever I called him out on it, he always had an excuse.
The sooner we take care of Cameron, the better. Once that threat is out of the way we can finally focus on replaceing and claiming her. That was ultimately what Preston and I both wanted.
Identical twins often shared a mate, so we were already expecting that to be the case for us. Although we only confirmed it when we both picked up her scent on Knox’s territory. It didn’t bother us, we’ve grown up sharing everything and once we take out Cameron, we would also be sharing the Alpha title. If I was being completely honest, I like the idea of have two protectors for my mate. That way when I’m not with her, I could trust that my brother was looking after her.
Preston seemed to have more restraint when it came to staying away from our mate. I knew this wasn’t a safe environment to drag her into, but my wolf was adamant that we immediately replace and claim her. I was kinda siding with my wolf on this one. I didn’t like the fact that we were intentionally trying to avoid her. I may have promised Preston that I wouldn’t actively look for her, but if she stumbles upon us, I definitely won’t be ignoring her.
The sun was setting and the camp was eerily quiet. The only sound was the crackling fire. Myself, Preston, Max, Jo and a couple other guys remained at camp, while the others patrolled. Our men were basically conducting an outer perimeter of Knox’s territory.
Ever since replaceing out that our mate was part of Knox’s pack, we’ve become even more eager to help protect them. We would do anything to make sure our mate was safe
We were all sitting by the fire, half the guys were sleeping while the rest of us silently stared at the dancing flames.
My thoughts where interrupted when Preston spoke.
“Do you smell that?” He whispered so only I could hear him.
I quickly inhaled to figure out what he was talking about.
“Wolves.” I growled and by the smell I knew they weren’t rogues. These were pack wolves.
I noticed everyone else by the fire smelled what we did, even the ones that had been sleeping. We all stood up and faced the tree line. Everyone got into a defensive stance.
“Max, stay behind me.” Jo ordered.
“Don’t start that s**t Jo, focus on the damn wolves coming our way.” Max growled. I was glad that Jo didn’t argue further, we’ve come to enjoy their little domestic disputes, but now was definitely not the time for one.
“I smell at least 20…” Preston started but was quickly interrupted.
“Look what we have here, a bunch of filthy rogues.” A family voice sneered. We couldn’t see him, but it wasn’t hard to recognize his voice.
Within seconds, several wolves came out of the tree line and surrounded us. There were probably 30 of them and we were definitely out numbered. A lot of them were in their wolf form, but a couple remained in their human bodies.
“Did you really think you could steal from me and get away with it?” Cameron snarled and finally stepped out of the shadows so that we could see him. He was only wearing a pair of shorts, it was clear that they had come in wolf form.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Preston said in a fake, innocent tone, causing Cameron to let out a humourless chuckle.
“Where’s the money?” He asked pointedly.
“You won’t replace it. I suggest you start apply for a day job you’re going to need the money. Maybe Starbucks in the human city? You’d make a cute little barista.” I taunted and could tell I was getting under his skin. He was never very good at hiding his emotions.
The wolves that had us surrounded were snarling and growling in our direction. I knew this was almost an impossible fight for us to win. He had three men to our one. I could only hope that some of our guys on patrol would show up. My brother and I could take on our fair share because of our Alpha b***d, but that wasn’t the case for some of the rogues working with us. Some were omegas and not the best fighters.
“Last chance, give me the money or you all die.” He seethed. I wasn’t stupid, he wasn’t planning on letting us live even if we did give him back the money.
“Sorry brother, no can do.” Preston replied calmly.
“You asked for it.” Cameron sneered.
“Kill them!” He boomed out the command and Immediately his wolves started stalking towards us.
We quickly shifted into our own wolves and stayed in a tight group, making sure to watch each other’s backs. We stood a better chance if we fought together, especially given how outnumbered we were.
Two of his men lunged at me, while others attacked the rest of my group. It didn’t take long before it was a full on death match.
I avoided one of my attackers, but was knocked over by the other. I quickly got back on my feet and lunged at him, before biting down on his back. He yelped in pain as I bit down harder. I heard the sound of bone crunching and knew I had snapped his spine. He immediately fell on the ground whimpering from the pain.
The other wolf attacked me and managed to bite down on my shoulder. I shook him off pretty easily, but as I did a third wolf jumped on my back. His teeth sunk into my flesh, but it didn’t hurt, it only fuel my anger. I was determined to win this fight even if the odds were against us.
I threw my back against a tree, causing the wolf on my back to release me upon impact. Before he could get up, I latched onto his throat and in one swift motion, tore it out. His lifeless body fell at my feet.
I glanced around and noticed all my guys were fighting multiple wolves, I could tell they were losing steam. This fight wasn’t looking good.
I saw a flash in the corner of my eye, before a grey wolf tackled me to the ground. He was quite a bit smaller than my wolf and didn’t stand a chance by himself. Within a minute I had snapped his neck and he laid lifelessly in front of me.
When I turned around, that’s when I noticed that we had lost a few of our men. My brother, Jo and Max were all fighting four to five wolves each.
l was about to jump in and help them, when I spotted Cameron with a gun pointed towards Preston. Preston was busy fighting five wolves and clearly oblivious to the gun pointed in his direction.
Fear tore through my body, I couldn’t lose my brother. He was the only family I had. I darted towards Preston as fast my body would let me go and leaped at the same time that I heard the gun shot.
