Tyrone interjected, a smirk playing on his lips, “That marked the beginning of the bet! Your disdain for
me during that period was unmistakable, driving me away repeatedly. Were my affections genuine, I’d
have distanced myself instead of persisting. My motive has always been victory in the bet!”
Sabrina was really annoyed at Tyrone’s persistence back then. But now, ironically, it served as
evidence of his love for her.
“However, didn’t you say that Galilea had misled you? You claimed that Galilea was the mastermind
behind my father’s demise and that Galilea’s being kidnapped was staged.”
“Only with those words can I minimize my missteps during our marriage and alleviate your animosity
toward me until reconciliation crosses your mind.”
Sabrina probed further, “Do you meticulously plan everything?”
“Pretty much. You’ve been wondering how I tracked you down when you were on foreign trips, right? I
put a tracking device on you.
When you tried to entice the human traffickers with money, I purposefully let their watchmen notice the
cops. Even during the time you were kidnapped and handled with those human traffickers, I knew your
location throughout the time through the GPS device but delayed intervention. Only by rescuing you
amidst desperation could your gratitude and reliance upon me be genuine.
So that was the truth… Therefore, her anxieties, fears, and tribulations were calculated maneuvers.
Tears welled in Sabrina’s eyes. She spoke nasally. “Upon returning from Austrain, you had placed
Galilea in a mental health facility. When I saw her at the hospital, she looked extremely frail…”
It didn’t seem to be fake.
“I lied to you. Galilea was unwell then. When she visited the hospital and you stumbled upon her, to
hide the truth, I fabricated the narrative. My narrative didn’t hold the water when you saw Galilea in the
restaurant later.
However, citing personal woes coupled with the act she put on with Kylan, you fell for that…” Tyrone
mocked.
Tears swelled anew in Sabrina’s eyes. His words pierced her heart.
Sabrina, with a forced smile, trying hard not to cry, confronted him, “I recall witnessing her having an
affair with Lee in the eatery and Rowell’s presence at her home…”
“Shut up!” Tyrone snapped, glaring sharply. “Refrain from slandering Galilea!
Consider your situation. Resorting to baseless accusations due to despair You exhibit despicably low
behavior, Sabrina!”
Advancing, he seized her chin, ridiculing, “Do you know why I didn’t make it to the end when we made
love? Because I feel sick every time I touch you! I won’t betray Galilea because of you! But I must
admit something. Your coquettish attempts amid coerced intimacy…”
Clap! A resounding slap echoed within the office.
Suppressing her anguish, Sabrina regarded Tyrone as a stranger. She breathed deeply, eyes wide
open, fighting tears. With a sardonic grin, she asked “Tyrone, I implore again. Are your words true? No
deceit?”
“Of course.” Tyrone sneered, rubbing his stinging cheek. “Your pretense of purity before my
grandparents has grown wearisome. Out of respect for them,
I’ll disregard this slap. Leave now if you’re sensible!”
Previously, Sabrina viewed Tyrone as Galilea’s faithful hound, eagerly at Galilea’s beck and call.
Now she understood she, too, was in Tyrone’s thrall. A few kind gestures erased the agony, enticing
her to accept his affection once more.
Now, Tyrone instructed her to leave, and she’d best do that.
