Scars Of A Broken Bond
Chapter 1606

Sabrina swiftly stepped out of her car to assess the damage. The rear end was crumpled, and the front of the white vehicle behind her car showed signs of impact.

The driver of the white car emerged, surveying the collision site and then his own vehicle. He directed his frustration at the driver of the black car behind him, exclaiming, "How could you drive like that? Are you even capable?"

The black car's driver nervously produced the license, stuttering, "I... I'm still on probation..."

The white car's driver was taken aback.

It dawned on Sabrina then that this was a chain of rear-end collisions, First, the black car hit the white car, then the white car failed to maintain a safe distance and struck her car.

Two roadblocks were now placed behind the black car. The three drivers moved to the roadside, dialing the police and exchanging insurance details.

Despite the straightforward nature of the incident, the paperwork process was time-consuming.

By the time Sabrina reached the police station where Galilea was waiting, visiting hours had passed.

With a heavy sigh, Sabrina resigned herself to returning tomorrow.

Shirley was becoming increasingly lazy. As her internship neared its conclusion, she reassured herself that she only needed to persevere a little longer.

Upon arriving at the building, it was already eight twenty-seven. Spotting the elevator doors closing, Shirley hurriedly called out, "Hold on!"

The doors shut before she could reach them. She slowed her pace, releasing a sigh.

Shirley hoped the elevator would descend promptly. Otherwise, she risked being late.

Suddenly, the doors opened again.

Shirley's eyes brightened. She entered quickly, breathing a sigh of relief. Wiping sweat from her forehead, she uttered, "Thank you."

"Don't mention it," came a soft reply.

This voice felt oddly familiar to Shirley. Looking up, Shirley blurted out, "Sergio!"

Sergio remained silent, his expression somber. "Do you want me to address you as Shirley in the company?"

"No... Oh, Good morning, Mr. Blakely."

Grinning sheepishly, Shirley quickly amended, "Mr. Blakely, congratulations on your wedding."

Shirley was puzzled. Sergio showed up for work the day after his wedding. Why skip the honeymoon?

Anticipating her thoughts, Sergio cleared his throat and explained, "Marnie needs to rest."

"Okay. Huh? Is Marnie unwell?" Shirley inquired, concerned. With the wedding dress's billowing hemline and skirt support, Shirley couldn't discern anything amiss with Marnie.

"She's pregnant." The baby would arrive in four months, so Sergio disclosed openly.

Shirley seemed to be onto something. "Well, you're right. She needs some proper rest. Mr. Blakely, it's crucial you look after Marnie well. You know, women's preferences and moods can flip during pregnancy. As her husband, you've got to be patient. Like, I once..."

"Like you what?"
