Chapter: 427
But Sabrina could not justify herself. Even if she mustered the courage to assert her innocence, shewould still be left scarred.
Bradley turned off the recording.
Once more, he couldn’t contain his rage. He drew a deep breath and stated, “This is only a fragment ofwhat I’ve heard. Many others slander her behind her back with words a thousand, a hundred thousandtimes more despicable than these. You’re a man. Don’t tell me you’re unaware of their maliciousthoughts! She shouldn’t have suffered this.
Why must she endure this? All because of you! If there’s any shred of decency left in you, you’ll keepyour distance from her!”
Tyrone maintained his silence for a moment before finally uttering, “If you want to use her to make mehelp you deal with the public opinions that are against you, then you have succeeded.”
Bradley, seething with rage, snapped back, “What do you mean by claiming I want to use her to makeyou help me?”
“Isn’t that the case?” Tyrone scoffed. “Are you genuinely fond of her or are you just using her to get myhelp? Bradley, you may fool her, but you won’t fool me
Sabrina had confided in him that the man she had feelings for didn’t reciprocate them.
Bradley appeared deeply in love with her, but in reality, he only sought to exploit her.
Enraged, Bradley clenched his fists so hard that his veins bulged. He released his grip and declared,“Fine, no point in discussing this further. I hope you reflect on this and let go of Sabrina!”
With that, Bradley opened the door, got out, and slammed the door shut behind him.
Tyrone remained unmoved in his seat, considering the possibility that Bradley was just furious becausehe had been exposed.
Watching Bradley depart in a fury, Kylan and the driver exchanged glances before stepping into the car.
The car eased its way into the yard. Tyrone got out, paused and tilted his head upwards. The Lightswithin the master’s quarters were already turned off.
After stepping into the living room, Tyrone switched on the Lights and glanced at the drawer. To hissurprise, he discovered that the spare key to the master bedroom had been returned.
He walked into the room quietly.
The room was shrouded in darkness, with only a few moonlit rays filtering through the gaps in thecurtains, gently illuminating her hair on the pillow.
She lay in bed, tucked under the covers, embraced by the darkness.
Curling up, half of her face remained hidden beneath the quilt.
Tyrone took a seat at the edge of the bed, carefully raising a corner of the quilt, and gazed at herpeaceful sleeping face, which was delicately illuminated by the faint glow of the moon.
It was then he noticed a pronounced crease between her brows, temples slick with perspiration. Hersoft sleep whispers suggested a troubled dream.
Suddenly, it seemed as though her nightmare took a terrifying turn. Her breaths quickened, becameshallow. Sabrina’s hands tightened their grip on the sheet as her body went rigid with tremors. Beads ofsweat trickled down her forehead as she murmured in her sleep.
Tyrone bent closer, catching her faint voice. “No, no. No. I didn’t…”
A tear seeped from the corner of her closed eye, tracing a path down her cheek, soaking the pillow, accentuating her plea.
