Second Thoughts After Divorce -
Chapter 84
Chapter 84
Rose’s POV
I sit out back in the quiet peace of the garden with my feet up to enjoy the sun as I tuck further in to my current book,
Ashton was inside doing some boring work, and I didn’t mind the little break to myself after this mornings meeting which I was forced to attend.
I understand why Ashton wanted me there, to pretty much theatres every male member in the pack of ever putting their hands on me to prevent a similar incident happening in the future.
I appreciated it, especially that he made it about all of the other females in the pack and not just me. It was the right thing to do, and although I felt uncomfortable standing before them all, I understood why he did it.
As I place the book aside, sipping at the freshly poured ice cold lemonade beside me, I turn to replace a flushed Lydia racing across the grass towards me
“I did it! We did it! It’s done Rose!” She shrieks, seening breathless and flustered as she reaches me and doubles forward to hold her knees
“What?” I question, wide eyed as she slumps down in to the chair beside me, taking a few deep breaths as she holds her now racing heart.
“Look!” Sh
She points and turns her head, revealing the mark placed on the base of her neck as my eyes widen and I slap my hands over my mouth.
She did it! She mated with Hunt! Finally!
“AHHH! You have a mate now Lydia! Somebody you like tou! Congratulations!” I clap excitedly as she giggles and nods frantically at my realisation
Lydia’s joy is infectious, and I can’t help but share in her excitement. Seeing her finally replace happiness after everything she’s been through it fills me with a sense of warmth and relief.
“Thank you, Rose!” Lydia beams, her eyes shining with happiness as she reaches out to squeeze my hand. “I couldn’t have done it without your support it wasn’t as bad as I thought either.” She laughs
I smile back at her, feeling a surge of pride at her accomplishment. “You deserve all the happiness in the world, Lydia. I’m so happy for you and Hunt.”
As we sit together in the garden, basking in the glow of Lydia’s newfound happiness, I can’t help but feel grateful for the bonds of friendship that have formed within our pack. Despite the challenges we’ve faced, we’ve always had each other’s bucks, and that sense of unity is more important now than
Just as I’m about to say something else, a shadow falls over us, and I glance up to see Ashton standing nearby, a serious expression on his face. Instantly, my heart skips a beat, and I can feel a sense of unease creeping over me,
“Is everything okay?” I ask, my voice tinged with concem as Ashton approaches us.
He nods, but his expression remains solemn. “I need to talk to you all, come inside.” He says, his tone brocking no argument.
I exchange a worried glance with Lydia before turning back to Ashton, a sense of apprehension settling over me. Whatever he has to say, I can tell already that it’s serious, and I can’t help but wonder what could possibly be weighing on his mind now.
Ashton’s stern demeanor sends a shiver down my spine, and I nod, rising from my seat with a sense of trepidation. Lydia follows suit, her earlier excitement fading into concern as she watches Ashton closely.
Leading us back into the house, Ashton’s pace is brisk, his steps echoing through the hallway as we follow behind him.
We enter the living room, and take our seats replaceing Sawyer and Hunt entering the room shortly after us looking equally as confused.
“So… if things couldn’t get any worse with what Seraphina and Turrick did… it turns out that a fair number of the children have actually been left without parents – they fucking killed them!” Ashton wastes no time on sharing the revelation as my jaw hits the floor.
“W–What? Seriously?!” I blunder, automatically holding my own stomach in thought of any child being left without a Mom or Dad – like I was

It definitely touched a soft spot, and I could feel the emotion surging through me like a tidal wave,
“Ive asked you all in here because I need to fucking fix this problem now – but I don’t know how! Ashton paces the room, furrowing his brows in imitation as I admire his determination to help the situation

Chapter 84
“How many kids are we talking here Ash?” Sawyer questions, as he continues to walk slowly back and forth.
“At least one hundred so far… probably more!” Ashton grumbles, irritated with the knowledge as he should be.
What they done was cruel…
“I don’t know bro, is there any main packs they did it to or is it generally all over?” Hunt adds, as Lydia shuffles closer to me – hooking her arm in mine for comfort..

I glance to her, and take her hand – thankful for the small gesture in such a tense situation. We had to do something to help protect those poor kids- to give them a better life..
“Mostly up North, I think they tried to stay clear of our region to avoid being caught – and they didn’t want to take any kids from the packs too close to their hiding spot in case we caught on.” Ashton updates, as I chew my lip and think hard on the best solutions moving forward.
A silence falls among us, as I think up an idea that I wasn’t sure would work or not.
“.. think I have something!” I suggest, as Ashton stops dead in his walks and
nd faces me
as does the rest as they wait for me to share the idea.
1 gulp, slightly nervous in case it was going to be anticlimactic to them, but decided that the kids were most important and if this could be an option,
then 1 better share it!
“So I was thinking uh… since Alpha Jacob has been removed from his pack and you are going to appoint a new Alpha to them…” I begin, as Ashtons face screws up in hatred for the name.
“You don’t have to call him Alpha! Jacob will do! Or scumbag, you can take your pick!” Ashton grits out his disapproval, as I nod once to acknowledge him but continue on.
“Well Jacob’s pack remains sort of stagnant now, right? I’m guessing that the big palace place that he held the ball in, is now just laying there empty with him and his family gone? Couldn’t we turn that in to a sort of orphanage… make it more of a paradise for the kids to live in temporarily until they are adopted? I’m sure there’s lots of couples who can’t bare children or other kind families who would love an extra addition who would adopt them? We can interview Jacob’s pack members to see who would be fit to work there – paying them well of course in return for their service. Surely his pack members would want to redeem themselves for what their Alpha has done for the pack too? But they need to be loving and fun, the kids deserve that! You could also put some of your people up there to oversee the facility and we could visit frequently too?”
1 finish my rant, moving my hands around passionately as I talk about my idea with my thoughts also growing with the more I shared it with the
group.
It isn’t until I stop speaking that I glance around at each of their faces – Ashton looking intrigued, Hunt and Sawyer looking somewhat proud? And Lydia smiling from ear to ear from beside me.
“Words spoken by a true Luna.” Hunt is the first to comment, catching me completely off guard since he wasn’t really the one to throw compliments around lightly.
I hated the title of Luna, never wanting Ashton to use it because I felt somewhat ashamed and like a fraud to the pack….
*Seriously Rose… Hunt is right, that’s a fucking excellent idea!” Ashton speaks out next, making butterfly’s erupt within my stomach at his support.
didn’t expect the idea to land so well! I thought they would poke holes in the plan, probably writing it off since I didn’t know what I was talking about……..but their reactions were nothing of the sort!
“I don’t see why that wouldn’t work! It sounds bullet proof! There’s plenty of our trusted pack members who would happily move up there to oversee it all! Sawyer nods fondly and hums, as Ashton clears his throat.
We turn to him, sering him grab his chin in thought…
That actually brings me to my next decision… which I think would help make this idea work all the better!” He begins, as we wait to hear what he has
to say
“So Hunt, I first want to say a congratulations to you and Lydia….. since I can sense that you have both mated now, yes?” Ashton addresses the exciting elephant in the room as I instantly clap and give them both a little cheer.
Hurst tries to suppress his grin, as Lydia thanks Isim quietly and shys away in to my side which causes for me to giggle.
“I’m not quite ready to part with you as my Beta, and I don’t think the girls want to split up any time soon either, do you?” Ashton suddenly Laughs, Hunt nods and laughs back in agreement.

They weren’t lying there……
“Which leads me on in my final decision… Sawyer, you have always been a crucial member in this pack… the best warrior and fighter I’ve ever seen – besides myself of course! Ashton jokes, as we smile and Sawyer rolls his eyes playfully,
“With that, I don’t think I can name anybody better for the job… but I would love to appoint you as the new Alpha to Jacob’s pack…….. if you’ll take the title, that is,” Ashton concludes, causing Sawyers eyes to widen and Hunts smile to finally grow for his friend.
That’s such a big deal! Woah!
“Fuck! You’re kidding right? Sawyer staggers on his words, utterly shocked and left in disbelief as Ashton n
nods in confirmation of the id
“Well of course I’ll accept the position! That’s a fucking honourt Thanks Ash! Sawyer instantly stands, rushing to embrace Ashton in a manly hug as Blunt stands proudly to congratulate him too.
Everything felt right; as though things were falling in to place in the perfect ways to fix all of the things that Seraphina and Tarrick had once broken…
