Secretly The Billionaire Boss by Debbie chocolate -
Chapter 74
Chapter 74: Confusion The first thing that came to Grey's mind was how Chris got the Diamond. There was only one auction house in town. In fact, Grey heard that Giovanni visits the place whenever he wishes. It was a place where even enemies met whenever auctioning was concerned.
Most of the enemies ended up making the auctioneer happier as they would increase the bids till the opposition couldn't afford it. It was exactly as he did with Aphrodite.
Avery pulled the car to a sudden stop. "My friend is staying the night at our place. She just arrived from the state and would only settle down tomorrow."
Grey nodded briefly but he was startled when the door opened suddenly and a fine face lady stared up at him. She had golden hair and green eyes. She was also very flawless. She could have passed for a model or a movie star. "This is Grey?" She had a smirk on his face.
Avery nodded quickly. "Grey, meet Chloe. Chloe, my husband," she introduced. Chloe sniffed. "Get down!" "What?" It felt like Grey didn't hear her right. "Get down! I'm going to sit in the passenger seat. I don't like taking the back seat, you should do that." Grey looked over to Avery for help. Avery merely nodded. "Listen to her, Grey." Grey sighed and got down from the car. He took the backseat while Chloe sat in the passenger seat. "Hey, Avery. I've missed you so much!" Chloe said happily.
"I didn't know you would be gone for so long. You told me it was only for three years and then, you came back in five years!" Avery opined. The two ladies were so much obsessed with chatting that they didn't even notice there was someone like Grey in the backseat. Grey decided to use the opportunity to question Aphrodite. She should know something about the Diamond ring. He sent her a message quickly, even though he knew that she might not be able to reply as their time differs from where she was.
"I don't like him. I don't believe you got married to someone like this," Chloe said, dragging Grey's attention back to them. Grey watched Chloe laugh, meanwhile, Caramel merely smiled.
Then, Chloe saw the Diamond ring around her neck.
"Wait a minute! Is that not pure Rina's heart?" She exclaimed softly, her eyes went wide with shock.
Pure Rina's heart?
Avery looked down at the ring. She didn't quite know the ring's worth and was in fact planning on going to the internet. She desperately wanted to know the amount Chris spent on her gift. "This?" Avery asked, confused. Chloe nodded briefly. "Yes, where did you get it?"
Avery held a smile. "I didn't buy this. Someone gave it to me as a gift. Is it worth more?"
Chloe nodded quickly. "Pure Rina's heart was named after Rina. It was the ring that her husband proposed to her with. After they divorced, she sold the design."
Avery was more than shocked. "And it's on sale?"
Chloe smiled. "Yes!" She exaggerated. "But only a few were finally made. And it's blue, it's so rare and it's termed as the most expensive Diamond ring in the world. Avery smiled at this. "Do you know how much it could have been sold?"
Chloe thought for a moment. "14.62 carats Fancy vivid blue Diamond is sold for 50 million on auction."
Grey scoffed. "I got it more than that," he whispered for his hearing alone. Avery blinked once, shocked. "Auction?" Chloe nodded briefly. "Yes, and it's always limited. People said it brings luck because Rina go married to a more wealthy man. With this, you will be aiming high." Avery laughed. "Seriously? I didn't know we had something like this." "Yes, and you don't need money alone to get it. You need to have connections or you have to be at the auction room. Don't forget that the wealthiest people would be there. For all I know, they could end up buying it for 500 million dollars."
"Exactly!" Grey said quickly, screaming the word out. He was actually glad that
Chloe was finally saying it. Chloe craned her neck to look at Grey. "What is wrong with your husband, Avery?" She expressed with a note of irritation. Grey thought of something quickly. "I mean you were right. There's no way Chris would get a rare gem like that." "Seriously?" Chloe laughed. "Avery, remind me who Grey is again." "Come on, Chloe!" Avery stressed. "I told you he's always like that." "Bad Mouthing when in fact, he's nothing but a live-in son-in-law. Does he even contribute to the house?" Chloe was still watching Grey in a way that shows how much she was disgusted. "I didn't badmouth!" Grey protested. "In fact, I have a job now."
"With the help of Alfred," she muttered.
Grey blinked once. How did Chloe know so much about him? Avery must have been badmouthing him to her.
There was no point arguing. So he kept shut. Instead, Grey got even more surprised. If the gem was really rare, how did Chris lay his hands on it? Seriously, he couldn't wait for Aphrodite to reply to him. Avery was very happy at the information she got concerning the blue Diamond and started to think highly of Chris.

When they pulled up at the front yard, the ladies were still chatting and laughing in between. They did as if Grey never existed. He didn't worry anyways. He only wanted to get on the bed and sleep. He felt so tired already. "Hey! What are you doing?" Avery's voice stopped Grey suddenly as he proceeded towards their bedroom." I just told you that Chloe would be staying over. Where did you expect her to stay?" Grey turned to look at her. "But there's no room here and I seriously have to
sleep."
"I have a suggestion," Chloe laughed. "Why don't you sleep in the courtyard or in the maid quarters where you belong?" Grey looked over at Avery. "How much badmouthing did you do Avery that Chloe is insulting your husband so much and you couldn't do anything about it?" "Three nights at the maids quarter!" Chloe said quickly. "Yes Grey, leave now before I increase it!"
