"She's not free in the afternoon," Colin finished my sentence impatiently before I could continue.

Not one to make my boyfriend look bad in public, I said wryly that I would be busy in the afternoon and that we could take the discussion tomorrow.

Colin's attitude told me sufficiently that I might not be able to visit Crystal House as frequently as before anymore. Therefore, I wanted to go there as much as possible before the ban came into effect. After all, I truly loved that place.

Winston only smiled and left when he heard that I wouldn't be there in the afternoon. However, there was a hint of anger beneath his smile.

He respected Colin a lot, like a student who admired his teacher. Perhaps I was overthinking it, but I felt that under the reverence was contempt that he hid masterfully. Colin must have sensed it too because he stared at Winston's silhouette disdainfully.

When we arrived home, it was around 11:00 am. Laura wasn't there. Queenie and Andrew were eating. When they learned that we hadn't eaten anything, they went to the kitchen and brought out some food. They also grumpily protested the lack of prior notice.

They didn't cook anything extra, so they could only hope that there was enough food to feed four people. The weather was getting warmer, so I didn't have a big appetite. I only finished half of my plate. Colin, however, seemed to be taking his frustration out on food. He finished the whole plate himself.

After lunch, it was lunch break. I was free in the afternoon. But Colin didn't want me to hang out with Winston too often, so he told him that I wasn't free.

But in the future, I would still have to head to Crystal House. Colin couldn't possibly stop me every time. Besides, I went there to draw. Why did he have to stop me? If I wanted to cheat on him, I would've done it already. I wouldn't have been single during those four years at university.

After showering, I told Colin to take a nap in the bedroom. I thought that once he was asleep, I could sneak to Crystal House. My progress was behind. I was away in the morning and I didn't want to squander my afternoon either.

"Stop talking. Just take a nap." Before I could say anything, Colin was smart enough to put his fingers against my lips. He stopped me from yapping about and dragged me to the bedroom. "If you don't want me to do anything, you'll sleep now."

"I'm not sleepy." I thrashed, trying to break free from Colin's imprisonment. "Just take a nap yourself, Colin. I'm almost done with my current painting. I have to go."

Colin didn't want to argue with me. He threw me on top of the bed. His left hand immobilized my upper torso while his slender legs pinched mine. Within a second, I was trapped in a human-shaped prison. Like prey who fell into a trap, escaping was impossible.

He was tall and strong, so my puny strength could hardly make him move. He wasn't going to let me head to Crystal House, so I knew all resistance was futile. I was bound and didn't want Andrew in the living room to hear something weird from my room. So, I lay still grumpily and tried to fall asleep.

When I was about to fall asleep, Colin said that he wanted to replace a bigger apartment for us.

"Why? I quite like living with Queenie."

"What's so good about it? I want to make out with my girlfriend. But I have to be constantly on guard in case housemates overhear us. That's no way to live."

I was speechless. Was he thinking about making out with me during an afternoon nap? Perhaps they were right. Men became a beast when they were nearing their 30s. Ironically, I fell asleep before I could make Colin fall asleep. I had a good nap too. I woke up at 2:30 pm. Colin was sound asleep, and I snuck out and went to Crystal House.

When I went in, Winston was working on a riverside painting. I stood next to him and admired his work. His techniques were on point, and his color theory was well-executed. As a student, he was quite talented.
