Seduced by My Childhood Sweetheart’s Brother -
Chapter 522
I soon opened my phone and noticed a message from Colin at 9:30 am.
He informed me that he suddenly had urgent matters to deal with in the next city. He expected to be back before 9:00 pm. So, he asked me to dine alone. He also reminded me not to eat with Winston, revealing his jealousy.
Okay then. It seemed like his career was more important. I would have lunch by myself.
After walking out of the old campus, I called Queenie and intended to ask her if she wanted to join me.
As a result, I failed to reach her. She seemed to be on a call with someone else. I had no choice but to put my phone aside and go to the cafeteria for lunch.
When I was on my way to the cafeteria, I noticed many students carrying large luggage throughout the college. Many youngsters with bright smiles were walking back and forth excitedly.
The semester would officially start on September 1st, and freshmen would register on August 27th.
I smacked my forehead and chuckled. I was so concentrated on painting that I forgot today was the first day of freshmen registration.
Only lecturers and students would handle the activities of welcoming them. It had nothing to do with me. However, these youngsters reminded me of the time I carried my luggage and registered alone at Lincoln University.
At that time, I was also a beautiful 18-year-old young lady with a height of over five feet. I was a noticeable presence on campus. I had received much attention wherever I went.
It was unfortunate that I was immersed in the past at that time. I hadn't recovered from the devastating blow of Thanksgiving. I felt as if I was in a trance all day.
I didn't realize that during those years when I admired Felix, there were others who also admired me.
Fortunately, I had caring and lovely roommates. Colin also protected me. That was why I gradually regained my true self.
Time flew so fast that five years had passed. I grew from an 18-year-old teenager to a 23-year-old mature lady. Needless to say, there were problems along the way, but I was fortunate to get through them all. I was now experiencing happiness and enjoying my life.
When I reached the cafeteria, I walked to a stall with a few people and ordered pasta. After finishing my meal, I headed to the college gate to watch the excitement.
It was lunchtime. The weather was so hot that even the birds were in no mood to chirp. There was no one in the registration area. A few students wearing red armbands were dozing on the table while the janitor was sitting on the edge of the flower bed to avoid the sun.
After wandering around for a while, I found nothing interesting, so I walked back. As soon as I turned onto a path, I noticed a familiar figure standing not far away from me.
I hesitated on whether to change paths. Perhaps he heard my footsteps. He turned around to look at me. Despite his skinny appearance, he was still attractive.
It was Felix. He told me before that he would return to continue his studies. It was not unusual for him to show up at college.
The person who surprised me was Lilac. She was facing him less than ten feet away.
She looked the same as she did five years ago. She appeared feeble and bit her lip. Her eyes welled with tears, and she hesitated to speak. She looked so pitiful.
I was lost in my thoughts and missed their conversation. However, I felt the atmosphere between them was strange.
They weren't as tense as enemies, nor were they lovesick like long-distance lovers. It was difficult to describe it.
Felix's expression was cold like ice, with his hands in his trouser pockets. He looked indifferent, without hatred or affection.
