Colin's words were unexpectedly cold. His previously hidden annoyance had risen to the surface and was visible.

Jasmine's schemes and provocations had constantly irritated this gentle and elegant man.

"Luna is my bottom line. Anyone who hurts her will have to pay a price... Yes, including you. We won't be together. Don't waste your time on me. Do your best to rehabilitate. I'll try my best to repay you for your life-saving kindness, but I won't give you my love. It'll disgust me."

After saying that, Colin hung up the phone and flung it on the bed. He turned around and stood by the window. His expression was darker than the sky outside.

He attracted a troublesome admirer and got upset, but he wanted me to comfort him. It seemed that I had doted on him too much.

Given how well he was used to me, I was willing to dote on him in return.

I walked over and hugged his waist from behind. Then, I pressed my face against his back and said in a muffled voice, "Don't be angry. What are your plans for tomorrow?"

Colin's body gradually softened. He held my hand and tapped it gently. "We still have three days of vacation. Do you want to go anywhere? Or do you want to return to Southsville? We haven't seen our parents for a long time. Do you miss them?"

"Aren't you busy?"

Colin turned around, held my face, and pressed his forehead against mine. We were so close that we could feel each other's breath. He kissed my lips lightly. "Work is unending. I always feel sorry to leave you alone. I should take some time to accompany you."

"Okay then. Let's return to Southsville. We only went back for a few days during the summer vacation. I didn't stay long enough. I want to eat Mom's dishes." "As you say, I'll book a flight now."

After booking the flight, Colin and I slept cuddling each other.

When I was about to fall asleep, his slight sigh took away my sleepiness. I couldn't see his expression since the lighting was too dim. I only knew he was upset. "Why are you awake?" Colin asked me dumbly in the darkness.

I turned to him and reached out to touch his eyes. "Are you feeling troubled because of Jasmine?"

"Yes." Colin kissed my fingertips and hugged me into his arms. "If I had known that Jasmine would be like this, I might as well have been the one who got hurt."

"I never imagined that she would become like this as well. However, she saved your life. We can't ignore her."

"That's why I feel troubled."

"But how are you going to take care of her? She's only interested in you and doesn't care about anything else. It's useless no matter how much we do. By the way, Colin, didn't you hire that caretaker for her? It seems like her relationship with Jasmine is good."

"I did replace a female caretaker for her, but Jasmine fired her after only one day. She said she didn't like that caretaker. She found Sophia herself."

Just as I thought, ordinary caretakers would never express their emotions like that.

"What is Jasmine's background? Those two men seem to have respect for her and are not as simple as those sent by the company to take care of her. Also, she has been injured for so long. Why doesn't anyone from her family come over? Is it possible that she's an orphan?"
