Seduced by My Childhood Sweetheart’s Brother -
Chapter 620
We heard from one of the stall owners that the area was going to be developed into a new residential area. The land had been allocated to a real estate development company, and construction would start
soon.
There were a few stalls and pedestrians here. So, there was nothing much to see. The three of us turned around to head back so that we could go for dinner.
After walking a few steps, Queenie suddenly stopped and said, "Lulu, look there." I followed her gaze and was taken aback by what I saw.
About ten yards ahead, Gavin was pushing Jasmine's wheelchair. She was wearing a simple white dress with her long hair flowing behind her. She had light makeup on, and her beauty exuded a sense of intimidation that kept people from approaching casually.
This version of Jasmine felt unfamiliar to me. It was as if there were two people with the same face. But it was unmistakably her, not someone else. It seemed that she would only show her true colors behind our backs.
I smiled. Instead of rehabilitating, she was out in the flea market. She must have been very bored as she couldn't help but stir up some trouble. I just wondered what new trick she wanted to pull at the flea market.
"Jasmine sure has quite a lot of leisure activities," I said somewhat sarcastically.
"It's far from the hospital, right? Wouldn't she feel tired?" Queenie asked puzzlingly.
"Who knows what kind of quirk this is." I shrugged, replaceing her actions quite incomprehensible.
Just then, a black luxury car silently glided over and stopped next to her. The driver lowered his head as he opened the back door. Gavin then lifted her into the back seat while the driver folded up the wheelchair and put it in the trunk.
From this whole scene, she looked like a young lady from a wealthy family who came out for a stroll.
At that moment, several questions popped into my head.
Whose car was that? Where were they taking Jasmine? Who was Jasmine exactly? The level of respect that the driver showed her reminded me of a chief butler in a period drama.
"What are you thinking, Lulu? Why are you silent when I'm talking to you?" Queenie nudged me.
I snapped out of my reverie and looked up at the taillights of the car as I voiced my doubts, "I'm wondering about the relationship between those men and Jasmine. Colin said her family never came to visit her after she got injured. Isn't that strange? I've always felt she had a mysterious identity."
"What's so strange about that? When something happened to me, my family didn't come either. Everyone has a side that's not known to others.
"She graduated from our university as well, but I've never heard any bad rumors about her during our time there. Although what she did was a bit disgusting, apart from that, I don't think there's anything else to her.
Queenie said this with a slightly downcast mood. Andrew's hand promptly pressed on her shoulder, giving her invisible strength and support. She just turned her head and smiled at him. "I'm fine."
"I can't be sure, but the people around her show an unusual level of respect for her. Every time I see her like this, I have a feeling that she's not the person we know. It's strange and mysterious."
"What do you mean by that? She can love whoever she wants as long as it doesn't affect you and Colin. He's totally devoted to you. If you don't give her a chance, she can't do anything. We don't have to know anything else nor care too much about it."
I was a little lazy and a happy-go-lucky person. Thinking that what Queenie said made sense, I decided to let it go. Colin's heart was with me, so it would be useless even if Jasmine tried to stir up trouble.
But suddenly, Andrew said, "Luna's intuition isn't wrong. That car costs three million dollars. People who own that kind of car are either rich or powerful. They're not simple people.
"Even though Mr. White and Luna have a good relationship, there are some things we should know. It's important to know the enemy."
