Seduced by My Childhood Sweetheart’s Brother -
Chapter 668
It wasn't until I arrived at the venue that I realized there was another group of about 20 students working behind the scenes too. Everyone toiled and pulled through to throw Colin a huge birthday party. Colin and I exchanged looks, touched by the kindness of everyone.
We were in a vast, empty space. On the right were several long tables, adorned with light blue tablecloths. There were a few stools scattered about. Needless to say, it was the dining area.
The air ventilation was better on the left, so three barbecue grills were set up. Flame tongues from the sizzling coals below were charring the sides of lamb shanks, unleashing the decadent aroma into the air. Our mouths already turned watery before the food was ready. To make sure we could eat as soon as possible, everyone volunteered to help out with the grilling. It was so festive.
I offered my help too but was politely turned away. They said since I was Colin's future wife, I had the right to enjoy the party. Besides, since it was his birthday today, everyone was given a task. My task was to accompany Colin-not that I had any issues with it.
Further inside on the left were two long tables filled with different bowls and plates containing various ingredients. I saw marinated beef, chicken, pork, fish, potatoes, and veggies. Everything was arranged in an orderly fashion. Together, they looked appetizing.
My eyes turned glossy all of a sudden. Perhaps this wasn't Colin's birthday party. It was his plan to make my wish come true.
During my four years of studying at Lincoln University, I took everything for granted, be it the environment or the food. But once I went to Jesselton College, happy moments from those years kept visiting my brain.
I missed them dearly, knowing full well that I couldn't travel back in time. Just one familiar scent was enough to move me to tears. There were times I woke up in the middle of the night and spaced out while gazing at the night sky outside.
My mind would replay the scenes of what I did at Lincoln University. I wanted to build a snowman once more, have barbecue in winter, grill meat skewers, and walk with Colin hand in hand on the silent campus, making two sets of trails that belonged to us.
If Colin woke up too, he would ask me why I was awake. I'd tell him that I missed the good old days. He would then pat my back and ask me to go back to sleep. He told me that we could always revisit what we had done one day.
He remembered what my wish was and used his birthday party to make it come true. Oh, Colin. He was so sweet that I could cry.
"They prepared all these?" I suppressed the surprise in my voice and asked Colin calmly, "It'll be chaotic later. How are we going to cut the cake then?"
