"Jasmine, what brought you here?" Colin was leaning against me, so I straightened his body to make him sit upright.

I was clueless about what was wrong with him. Before Jasmine came, he was sitting pretty well. As soon as she arrived, he leaned against me lazily, as if he would fall to the ground if he couldn't maintain his balance.

I had no choice but to stand up, put my arm around his shoulders, and let him lean into my arms. He then calmed down and took a few sips of water.

When Jasmine witnessed our intimate interaction, her hypocritical smile instantly froze like a smiling mask. She didn't react for a few seconds.

Gavin, who was standing next to her, cleared his throat slightly before she finally responded.

She quickly suppressed the jealousy and resentment that was about to overflow from her eyes. "Today is Colin's birthday. How could I not attend? We share a unique bond despite our acquaintanceship. I ought to give him something as a token of my blessing."

Her hypocritical performance began, but I didn't like her words.

Why should she come to Colin's birthday? Also, many people had known him for many years. Who was she to him? How could she be so bold as to claim their connection was out of the ordinary?

Perhaps there was indeed something-not an intimate one, but rather, her coercion toward him and his avoidance of her.

I had nothing to say if that was deemed a special relationship.

"Thank you for your blessings, but we don't require anything. Despite attending the same school, you and Colin didn't speak often. We might not have ever met if it weren't for the coincidental encounter on a business trip.

"How can we let you give anything? Although the Taylors don't care about the small amount of money, we can't expect to be rewarded for doing nothing."

She couldn't blame me for speaking harshly because it was the truth.

I would give Jasmine the most potent rebuttal possible with harsh facts since her hypocrisy would only disgust us. She could live a good life but chose to bother others instead.

She probably didn't expect me to embarrass her. Her face reddened from sheer rage. It was extremely ugly.

If anyone thought that she would stop there, they were wrong. She was like a burr, clinging on without shame.

"My gift is for Colin. Although you're his girlfriend, it's not a legitimate relationship under the law. You have no right to make decisions for him. I like Colin. He knows that as well. We're single. It's only natural to give him a birthday gift. What's the big deal?"

I scoffed. Jasmine publicly declared her love for a man who was in a relationship. Her IQ and EQ left me speechless. Tutors from wealthy families were indeed unique.

Indeed, a dating couple had no connection under the law. However, did it mean behaving like a mistress was right?

She even wanted Colin to make his decision. Wasn't she seeking his criticism? She was so brave.

Didn't she know who Colin was? He would only choose the most ruthless words to rebuke her. She had experienced it before. Why had she forgotten it? I admired her persistence.

"Jasmine, do you mean to come between us when you know I'm Colin's girlfriend? Although your behavior isn't illegal, you'll get morally condemned. As the daughter of the Taylors, it's a pity that you want to be a mistress. I wonder if your parents will be disappointed if they replace out."

Since Jasmine dared to admit being a mistress, I dared to reveal the truth. After all, she brought up the topic. I had no choice but to counterattack. She coveted my boyfriend. It made sense for me to react accordingly.

I should defend my sovereignty as Colin's girlfriend. I had the right.

As I expected, the students were furious to learn the truth.

Even though they behaved like crazy when they had fun, they were intelligent enough to get into Jesselton College.

They all realized that Colin was at the center of the situation. As his girlfriend, a mistress was bullying me and attempting to destroy their lecturer's relationship.

That was unbearable.

Several girls who had taken my class came up and shooed Jasmine away unceremoniously. "Madam, if you have personal matters, please wait until our party has ended. You should take good care of yourself at home. Don't come out and stir up problems. If not, you'll age more quickly."
