The atmosphere was tense in the Fleming’s manor.

Magnus leaned on the sofa, listening to Axton’s scolding with utter boredom.

“You are a child of the Fleming family, and you are not allowed to risk your life!” Axton’s cane hit theground hard, “You promised me before, once you returned from the Lamont family, you would never getinvolved in their affairs again. Thinking about what Magnus had done these past few days, Axton was so angry that he was puffinghis beard and glaring his eyes.

Magnus glanced up gently, lazily smiling, “It’s not a big deal, I’ve been prepared for this, we have toface this risk eventually.”

Axton wanted to curse him awake.

A fog seemed to spread across Magnus’s languid, composed face, his resolute expression asindifferent as ever.

Axton gave up.

He knew that no one could stop what Magnus wanted to do.

At the entrance of Vencumfield Mall, Yvette was holding Claudia’s hand, her steps lively.

“What kind of engagement gifts did you like? And wedding favors, as long as you liked them, thegeneral customers would like them too.”

“I don’t mind the bridesmaid dress, as long as you like it.” Yvette was happy whenever she thoughtabout Claudia’s upcoming good news.

She turned around and simply walked into a nearby gift shop, giving them space to talk.

Everett walked up to Yvette, gave a slight smile and said, “Shall we replace a place to sit?”

“No need, I have something to do later.” Yvette frowned, “Mr. Ramsey, we have no relationshipanymore, and there will be none in the future. I thought I made myself clear enough.”

“I knew you were forced to come to Vencumfield,” Everett cut to the chase, “My mom pressured youagain.”

“No.” Yvette interrupted him, “It was my own decision to leave. We were wrong from the start, we can’tcontinue to be wrong. Everett, let me go, and let yourself go too.”

Everett looked at her indifferently, his eyes growing redder and redder.

Yvette turned around heartlessly, and the moment she turned, tears fell from the corners of her eyes.

Impossible things, there’s no need to fantasize about them.

She didn’t have the background and family status like Claudia, they wouldn’t be happy together even ifthey forced it.
