Chapter 9
First, she smashed my phone to make sure no one else was inside. Then she turned toward me with a fierce look. “Ashley, I advise you to leave now, or don’t blame me for being rude!”
I suppressed a smile, pretending to be scared.
“What are you going to do? Chris is right outside, you wouldn’t dare.”
I emphasized the last sentence heavily.
Sure enough, my words infuriated Chloe, and she slapped me hard.
“How dare you call him Chris? That’s not a name you should use, you wretch!”
She grabbed my hair. Gone was her usual gentle and frail demeanor.
“It seems I’ve spent all these years focusing on your child and forgot to teach you a lesson.”
“My child? What have you done to my Oliver?”
Chloe enjoyed seeing me distressed and out of control. She looked at me appreciatively, a triumphant smile on her lips.
“What does it matter if you know it was me who harmed your child? When you brought the evidence before, Chris didn’t believe you.
“All those dolls were sent by Chris, you could even say, Chris personally killed his own child.”
She gripped my chin, smirking triumphantly.
“Aren’t you the one who boasted about loving your child so much that you’d give up everything? How can you still live with a murderer?”
I frantically broke free from her grip and slapped her face.
“Murderer! You killed my child! You killed my child!”
Chloe was unfazed.
“Even if you shout it from the rooftops, who would believe you?
“You know, the moment I clutch my chest, Chris will always take my side unconditionally.” “Is that so?”
My face, initially filled with terror and fear, suddenly took on a mischievous expression.
I grabbed her hand and forcefully clamped it around my neck.
Then I screamed desperately,
“Help! She wants to kill me!”
Chloe was confused by my sudden move, and as she came to her senses, she struggled fiercely to break free from my
grasp.
But I wouldn’t let her have her way.
Both of us rarely exercised and lacked strength.
However, fueled by hatred, I unleashed astonishing power, and Chloe couldn’t pull her hand away.
The sound of the security’s footsteps grew closer. In a panic, Chloe actually hit me with her bag.
Despite a heavy blow to the head, I still didn’t let go.
Ollie, Mom would avenge you!
