Seven Days Seven Nights (Nicholas and Nancy) -
Chapter 87
Chapter 87 Seeing Her with Christian
Madelline wondered how Nicholas felt when he saw this scene.
She was pretty excited!
Madelline's lips curled up with a triumphant smile.
After drinking the hot water, Nancy's stomach felt a bit better.
But she no longer dared to stay here.
She would have left earlier if it weren't for the stomachache.
Even though she confronted Madelline and spoke every word with determination and confidence, only she knew how scared and vulnerable she felt deep inside.
She was merely putting on a facade of strength, trying to make herself seem unbreakable.
Once she shed her outer shell, she was fragile and could easily break with a touch.
The venue was so grand, so beautiful, so dreamy!
But it was all for another woman.
Now, she only felt as if every breath was like a knife, slicing through her heart, inch by inch.
Forgive her for her timidity; forgive her for her weakness. She had no courage left.
She was afraid.
She was afraid that in a little while, she'd have to watch them walk hand in hand, looking affectionate for each other.
She feared he'd use loving looks and tender words to say those touching things to Madelline.
Even more so, she feared she couldn't bear it.
So, she could only escape.
Escape from it all early.
Nancy got up and walked outside.
What she didn't know was that Christian also followed her.
When Nicholas approached, he saw them walking one in front of the other. Even though they

weren't side by side, he couldn't help but feel they were together.
Indeed, it was him, the second young master of the Zayns.
Considering the vast family business of the Zayns, it was unexpected that the only male heir chose to become a police officer.
Suddenly, Nicholas' gaze fell upon Christian's clothing.
That suit looked especially familiar.
He couldn't help but feel like he had seen it somewhere before.
Nicholas searched intensely. Soon, his eyes narrowed as he stared at Christian with determination.
He murmured that the clothing seemed familiar, and it all returned to him. It was the outfit that Nancy had purchased from that men's clothing store.
He had been eagerly waiting these past few days, hoping she would give him that outfit as a gift.
But as it turned out, she had already given it to another man.
Oh... So that's how it was.
Having bought such expensive clothing for another man, he wasn't sure whether to call his wife generous or innocent.
Nicholas stared at that outfit, almost wishing to bore a hole through it with his
gaze.
His aura was so chilling that it was frightening, and his fists clenched unconsciously.
In the end, he punched and shattered the nearby goblet.
The crystal goblet fell to the ground and shattered into pieces instantly.
The red wine from the glass spilt out, some flowing onto Nicholas' hand and the rest onto the floor.
His hand and the floor were stained with the alluring red of the wine.
At that moment, he couldn't distinguish whether the color on his hand was from the red wine or the blood that trickled from his palm.
"Nicholas, let me bandage that for you," Madelline said as she grabbed his hand, looking worried.
Nicholas snatched his hand back and said coldly. "No need

Outside the door, as Nancy had just walked out, she felt a wind blowing in her face.
The night air had a cool, crisp feel as it blows.
She had just wrapped her arms around herself when suddenly her shoulder felt heavier as a jacket was draped over her.
Turning around, she saw Christian.
"Why did you come out? Aren't you planning to stay a little longer?"
"I was getting a bit bored, so I came out. Let's go! I'll walk you back," he said.
Nancy looked at him in astonishment, blinking her long eyelashes, almost incredulous, and said. "How did you know I was going back?"
At this moment, a car had already pulled up.
The driver got out of the car and handed the keys to Christian.
He looked at Nancy and asked, "Do you trust me?"
"What's there to be worried about?"
As Nancy spoke, she got into the car. She had been planning to go home anyway, and now, with him offering to drive her, it saved her the trouble of calling a cab.
In the car, music played softly, creating a calm and tranquil atmosphere.
The temperature inside the car was comfortable as well.
Perhaps Nancy was too tired. She fell asleep as soon as she got into the car.
When she woke up, the car had already stopped at her doorstep.
Realizing she had fallen asleep, she rubbed her head and felt embarrassed. "I'm sorry for making you wait so long. You could have woken me up."
"Seeing you sleep so peacefully, I didn't want to wake you."
"Thank you so much for today. By the way, how did you know where I live?" Nancy asked.
Christian had initially planned to say that he knew everything.
He knew about her connection to the Sallows and that she married Nicholas.
However, in the end, he lowered his gaze and said in a deep tone, "If I want to know, I'll replace at way."

Nancy nodded.
Indeed, there's always a way to discover what we want to know in this age of advanced information. As they exited the car, Nancy returned the jacket to Christian.
Seeing her gaze on the jacket momentarily, Christian asked, "Is something wrong with my. clothing?"
"Oh, no." Nancy quickly shook her head and explained, "It just looked a bit familiar. I bought an identical one not too long ago and gave it to a friend as a gift."
"That's quite a coincidence. This jacket was a gift from my sister. Besides my police uniform, most of my other clothes are arranged by her."
The night had grown even darker.
The moon in the sky hung like a disc, and the night was calm and serene, like water.
The residual glow of the moonlight bathed the two of them.
Nancy and Christian stood side by side.
"The night is lovely!" she exclaimed.
If it weren't for all the
Vents today, this would be the most beautiful moon she'd ever seen.
Unfortunately, even though she was looking at such a beautiful moon, she couldn't replace happiness.
Her heart was filled with profound sadness.
"Bro Chris, do you have some free time later?" Nancy withdrew her gaze, looking at the man beside her, bathed in the moonlight's soft glow, and asked. Christian also turned his gaze towards her and spoke earnestly, "No need to be so formal in the future. Just call me Christian."
"Then you don't need to be formal either. Just call me Nancy."
"Okay, Nancy."
"If you have the time, could you accompany me for a chat?" Nancy asked.
Christian nodded and answered, "With such beautiful moonlight, I'd be happy to."
They leaned against the car casually, and Nancy wanted to hear exciting and funny stories from

his experiences.
Her heart was burdened with so much bitterness.
That's why she was eager to hear some fun stories. That way, she could replace some happiness.
Later on, indeed. Christian shared many amusing stories with her.
She laughed heartily, sometimes clutching her stomach until it hurt.
But even after the laughter, her heart couldn't replace peace.
Throughout the night, she tried to numb herself, desperately numbing herself, telling herself not to dwell on those things.
She told herself not to think about Nicholas and Madelline, and not to think about what might happen at the birthday party.
However, once she stopped, she couldn't help but think about it.
"Why is love so bitter?" Nancy murmured while looking at the fireworks blooming overhead.
"And what about first love? Do all men never forget their first love? If they don't forget, then what about marriage? What about wives?"
