Severed Bonds
Chapter 25- Discomfort

Soon as my eyelids fall, I'm back in the dark room. I can feel the goosebumps all over my skin, the cold chill running through my body and the vast darkness. My eyes shot open, I pant heavily and do all I can to regain my breath. I pull the handle of my drawer and pop in three sleeping pills, then gulp them down with water. I lie back in my bed and try to relax, but soon as I close my eyes I replace myself in the room again. I can see the shadows of the man and woman, getting closer. The man takes out his blade. A scream is let out from me, I wake up again panting heavily. They're not working? Why aren't they working! I take out the pills again and swallow one more. This should do it, I should fall asleep any second now! I wake up at noon, my dad walks in to check on me. He sighs. I sit up.

"Dad I know that look, what's wrong?" He gives me an upset expression.

"Hannah, you're going to be staying at Ian's house for a bit."

"Why?"

"Because...it's more guarded and safe over there."

"Why now? What's changed? Why haven't they asked me to move in before?" My dad gives me a guilty expression.

"Because there was no reason to." I glare at him. "Aren't you scared of living in this house now?" I don't answer. "Hannah, they have to keep a close watch on you for now, till they replace out who's behind this." I shake my head defensively.

"So, moving into unfamiliar grounds is better for my sanity?"

"I already told them Hannah that you agreed to this."

"Did you?"

"I believe they're doing what's best."

"You can't be seriously thinking that me being any closer to whatever the hell is going on is any better?"

"It's a risk I'm willing to make for your safety." I stare in shock.

"When do they want me to move in?"

"As soon as possible." I bite my lip and shake my head defensively.

"Do you have my bags packed already?" I yell out of frustration.

"Hannah...try to understand."

"Understand what exactly? That I'm being targeted, kidnapped, drugged! For no apparent reason besides I'm his other half. We wouldn't be in this mess if it wasn't for them!"

"You don't know that Hannah." He says calmly.

"What other reason could it be? Dad!" Why is he defending them? Why is he acting so calm? My father has never been as complicaint before. Ever since Ian showed up in my life, he's quiet and not acting like himself. Ian is nothing but rude to him and my dad does nothing to defend himself! It irritates me that he gets away with it! Why? And why? Do I feel like I'm the only one asking these questions? My dad leaves the room quietly leaving me to start packing my stuff. I reluctantly take a bag out my closet and stuff all my essentials and electronics. I lift my book bag and my other bag downstairs and plop them on the floor by the couch.

"So are we driving there?"

"Yes."

"When?" His phone vibrates, he takes it out of his pocket and reads a message.

"Now." I snatch my bags and toss them in the car. I sit in the back, that way I won't have the urge to kill my father. Once we arrive, I spot the housekeeper from the last time I came here. I get out of the car and lift my bags. My dad gets out of the car and walks inside with me. The housekeeper shows me to the guest bedroom. I dump my bags on the floor and thank the housekeeper. She gives me a sly smile. Odd? Soon as the housekeeper leaves and closes the door. I rush to open it a bit. I take in the sight of my new room, it's nice and not as big as my room in my house but it's...calming, In a way. It feels kinda like home. My dad walks in looking more uneasy.

"I hate to admit it, but it's nice." He stiffly nods.

"It's very small." He nit picks. I roll my eyes.

"You can visit anytime, or even stay here." I plead.

"No, they won't have enough guards for the both of us."

"Dad? Aren't you in danger too?"

"No, they don't even know that I'm your father. All they're focussed on is getting to you." That's odd I figured that I were to get to someone I would use any means necessary.

"Oh, then I will visit!" I plead.

"That defeats the purpose of this." My shoulders slump. "Just call me and text me when you can." I hug myself and look at the floor. "It's going to be okay Hannah, everything is going to be okay." I nod several times, holding in tears. I can't believe it's come to this. Hell, at first I couldn't believe that I was bonded with Ian. Now I just can't believe that I'm staying here because I was kidnapped. I hug my dad tight, he wraps me in his arms. "I love you Hannah."

"I love you too dad." I say sniffing. Just like that, he's gone. A week goes by, my dad keeps calling the school and telling them I'm sick. At this point he probably had to say the flu by now. I feel like I'm getting myself back bit by bit. I have the door slightly opened. It used to be wider, so I guess that's improvement? I just don't know anymore, I wish I could facetime Justin and Lola. but Ian went ballistic when he saw I was facetiming them. Something about keeping the house a secret and them not being curious about the new location I'm in. I've decided to go back to school next week. Just one more day, maybe seeing Violet will do me some good. Even though we're not speaking since the Rose incident. Sigh, all I can do is wait.
