Severed Bonds
Chapter 35- Recollection

There's a small tin box, I grab the box and crawl out from under the bed. I fold my knees in and examine the box, I pop open the lid. Inside I replace pictures...pictures of me in elementary. The mascot in the middle looks nothing like the one in South Carolina. I flip through a couple more, there's pictures of me in middle school, elementary, with another boy. Who is he? Why don't I remember him? The next photo is a picture of a daisy field. The same one from the hospital! I flip through the next one, it's another picture of a daisy field with me and the boy again. I hold the picture up and look closely at it, wait a sec... that tree looks familiar! I run up to my window and press my face through. I see the exact, same tree outside! With the exact, small, blue ribbon tied on the branch. I run downstairs and slip on my shoes. I ran out the door, looking for the same tree. I hold the picture in my hand as I run to it, I examine the photo again. Trying to see what angle it is in. Once I've gotten a pretty good idea where the field can be, I run as fast as I can through the tall grass. I run over a small, steep hill; I stop at the top to look for the daisy field. A small, white, and yellow centered object jumps out at me. I run towards it, running as fast as I can. I stop to catch my breath. Panting, and buckling my knees in. My breathing slows, and I look up. There it is...the field in my dreams, the field in the picture...I slowly walk to it. It's just like my dream, the sun, the daisies and this feeling. The alluring sense of comfort and warmth...I allow myself to take in this feeling, my legs move on their own to the center of the field. Once my foot hits the ground, I kneel down holding my head.

Ian's Pov,

I wake up from an excruciating migraine, then it stops. Well, at least I didn't fall again...I still should check on her just in case she managed to get herself kidnapped again. I walk to her room, the door swings wide open. I step inside and see a tin box laying on the ground. I hunch close to it, lifting the box up. I smile looking at the photos, there's only one place where she could've gone. Sure enough I replace her there in the field, looking like she's just awoken from a long nap. She stands there letting her hands brush the daisies, her hands stop and she turns to face me. That naive look in her eyes is gone, she doesn't fidget or look down. She glares right at me with piercing eyes. I can't get too carried away, for all I know she could just be confused.

"How much do you remember?" I make my tone and facial expressions as cold and unreadable.

"Everything." My heart stops, she can't possibly have all her memories, there's no way! Keep it together Ian. Keep it together...

Hannah Pov, Everything...makes sense now. The way Ian acts toward me the way how my father ignored everything I asked of him. Because I was bonded! Everything happened because of this! He refused to tell me, because it was his doing! How could he! He made Ian wipe my memory! I storm off once the realization of this hits me.

"Han! Where you going?" Ian calls out.

"To see my father!" He runs after me. I whip back at him. "And don't you dare try to defend him or stop me from confronting him!"

"I'm not! Just wait up." I turn back around and walk to the house I grew up in. Well half of it...I knock on the door. My dad opens it and frowns once he sees how pissed I am.

"You had no damn right!" I yell.

"I did what I had to, to protect you Hannah." He argues back.

"Protect me? Protect me from what! I was safe there!"

"NO YOU WEREN'T!"

"You just couldn't stand it could you?" I clench my fists. "The thought of me being with Ian sickened you!"

"He's a warlock Hannah! And you were to blind to see that! THERE NOTHING BUT, VILE, MANIPULATIVE, AND DESTRUCTIVE CREATURES!"

"So you decided to take me away, and years later I got attacked by some guy! WHICH WOULD'VE NEVER HAPPENED IF IT WEREN'T FOR YOUR SELFISH AND COWARDLY DECISION!" His eyes raise, "And you knew that didn't you?" I spat quietly. I've never felt disgusted and pissed at my dad before. I can't believe he would do such a thing. Somehow I thought he would say I'm wrong, and be disappointed in me for losing trust in him. But I was right, all he could argue back was that he did it for my own good. Without saying anything I walk out fuming. He calls after me but I don't answer. My heart squeezes. I can't believe he made Ian do it. He manipulated him, he manipulated me... Ian stands outside waiting for me, I walk off without saying anything. Ian does nothing but follow me silently. I stop half way, "Ian, I need a favor." He stops.

"What?" He's not at least happy that I remember him and everything? I thought he would act different. What happened to him?

"I need money." He sighs.

"How much?"

"Enough to get away for a week with some friends of mine." He tilts his head at me.

"Where you heading?"

"I don't know yet." He lets out a chuckle.

"Will when you replace out, then will see." He shakes his head. "You know I'm not going to give you a cent until you tell me exactly where you're going."

"Yeah, I know." I snap. "Just keep it on the low Ian, I haven't been in touch with my friends in awhile. I don't want to have to explain why I never mentioned you."

"Tsk, you really think they'll be that suspicious?"

"You'd be surprised." I spat. He rolls his eyes.

"How long is this trip?"

"A week."

"Heh, you think it will be long enough?"

"Nope." I say popping the p. I turn around and meet his eyes. "But it'll do for a distraction." We walk back to the house.
