Severed Bonds
Chapter 8- When reality sets in

Ian POV,

The door creaks open revealing Thomas.

"Rough day?" He sits on the bar stool next to me.

"Tsk, You have no idea." I say while taking another sip of whiskey.

"She's back eh? I saw her on the first day I would've told you but I figured you would've known considering well that your...." Slam!

"I don't need a reminder!" I glared at him.

"How long are you going to keep this up Ian?" I take a longer sip. "Soon, your father will no longer be here. Which means it's up to you."

"Yes I'm well aware." I snap. He sighs.

"I'm saying that, our rivals... assume you to be bait. In other words, your just as vulnerable as her."

"If I'm just as vulnerable! Then why are they sending me threats? It seems to me that their too busy hiding with their tail in between their legs."

"I'm only saying what they think." He smirks. That infuriating son of a bitch! If he wasn't my fathers messenger, I would've knocked his ass out!

"I know what needs to be done!"

"Then keep her in check."

"That's what I plan on doing." I grit my teeth.

"Ian, you're hesitant around her...if you loose your grip on her. What do you think the others would think?'

"Your point?" I snap back. He shakes his head.

"Be the man your dad raised you to be."

Hannah POV,

In the morning I wake up in a haze soon as I see my dad I walk over to him.

"Dad?-" He sighs heavily.

"Yes, Hannah all of last night was real..."

"All of it?" He nods slowly.

"H-how?" He looks at me for a while.

"I...don't know." Dad drops me off at my new school, they already gave me my locker combination and schedule to follow. I keep my eyes on my schedule, avoiding all the piercing gazes. Once I replace my new locker I head over and avoid the small group of boys huddled together. I can hear them snickering, Oof my shoulder gets bumped hard. As if I bumped into a brick wall. I bend down to reach my book bag that fell, I notice the boy from yesterday. For a while I just stood there. It was so overwhelming I couldn't breathe for a second, how long was I even standing there? Time stopped and my whole world did. A thick stench of perfume, brings me out of my thoughts. It enters it's way in my senses, augh! it's so strong It's almost unbearable. I turn and notice a girl with bronze hair fixing her "outfit".

"Are you just going to keep being a weirdo or ask me out or something?" She says while looking in her locker mirror.

"Damn your that cocky huh?" I tilt my head to the side. She slams her locker and snaps at my direction.

"Listen bitch, I don't know who you think you're being snarky to-" She inches closer to me.

"Hey Rose what's taking so long?" The girl I assume to be Rose huffs out a frustrated sigh. A petite girl with dark hair and glasses runs over. The girl glances at me, "Oh, well... I'm violet nice to meet you." She gives Violet a hard glare. She gives me a warm smile obviously unaware of the situation.

"Why thank you for properly welcoming me Violet. Unlike some people she has good manners!"

"Bitch you ain't the fucking president or anything so why should I give any courtesy to you?!"

"Well maybe,... it's because it's the humane thing to do? Ever think of that?" Violet looks at me wide gazed. Rose sighs.

"Alright...you won this round but next time!-"

"Hang with us at the party tonight!" Rose looks at me with an intimidating look.

"Alright then and I'll meet you there!" I say chipperly while looking at Rose. Rose and Violet walk off together, then Violet runs back to me.

"Oh right, here's my phone number and I'll text you the address." Rose stands far away from Violet looking pissed. As soon as I got home, I scavenged the boxes for the best outfit. I want to make a good impression on them. I told my dad I was hanging with some friends for the evening. He seemed uneasy about it, ever since the incident my curfew is earlier. Which means I'll have to leave early. Which I was a bit bothered by, but he kept insisting so I finally agreed. As I enter the house, I look around...it's just like a regular high school party. Violet runs over.

"Hey so glad you made it! Right Rose?!" She nudges her.

"I'm going to go get a drink." She says with a snarky tone. I giggle.

"Rose can be a little..-"

"Bitchy and reckless?" I add.

"Well, sometimes..." She says timidly.

"I'm surprised I thought she would be bossing the hell out of you." Her head lowers.

"Kinda." She mumbles looking down.

"Oh come on!" Her eyes widen, "Don't tell me you let her walk over you!"

"Rose is just... outspoken."

"Outspoken?" I tilt my head. I look at her with a puzzled expression on my face. She bites her lip nervously. I sigh, I get it...nobody could understand the way I feel towards my mother. She died when I was little. And I don't remember a single thing about her or even miss her. I suddenly replace it a little unbearable to breathe, I replace myself reminiscing about early memories of South Carolina. My home, Noah, and the incident.....
