She Cried Wolf (OLD) -
Part 4
Partial Edit 1/7/2021
The next morning my head is pounding, my body aches, and my stomach churns. I climb out of bed and slowly get dressed. Looking in my bathroom mirror I see my skin is pale and there are dark circles under my eyes. Oddly enough, the bruises from the other day have disappeared. I throw my hair up into a messy ponytail and go to make breakfast. I make a piece of toast and a plateful of eggs. The smell from cooking the food makes my stomach churn, but I take deep breaths to settle it. Trying to eat the food the smell makes me nauseous but I eat the eggs and toast anyways. I leave the plates on the table before starting my long journey to school.
I arrive in my first hour early, so I take a seat in the back by a window. I rest my head on my hand and gaze out at the trees even after the bell. I pay no attention as the door slams open five minutes into class. As the hour progresses I begin to feel worse and worse.
“Kitten?” A different voice says in my head startling me. The voice is familiar but I can’t place where I’ve heard it before.
“Who are you! And why do voices keep appearing in my head!” I think, flustered.
"You’ll know soon enough. Now, why are you here? When you are obviously are sick?”
I scoff at the voice. “Like I would stay home.” The bell rings, cutting off the voice’s reply. I gather my things before standing only to grip onto my chair as my dizziness threatens my balance. Once steady I quickly exit the classroom and head for the bathroom.
I lock myself in a stall and collapse in a heap on the floor. As my stomach rolls, I scramble to my knees and lean over the toilet bowl. After emptying my stomach of the contents of breakfast I am left dry heaving until my body can’t expel anymore. Flushing the toilet and leaning back against the bathroom stall I am left breathing heavily. At this point, my whole body has become hot, and my hands are clammy. Sweat beads across my forehead. I have no intention of moving from this spot, as it has become quite comfortable. My eyes droop as the bathroom door opens.
“Kitten?” a small whimper is my only response. Familiar black converse stop in front of my stall. “Sweetheart, I need you to unlock the door for me,” Jackson says softly. I reach up and slide the latch causing the door to slowly open, revealing the godly face of Jackson Matthews. He frowns upon seeing me but I just let out a weak yawn. When he lifts me into his arms I bury my face into his chest. I’m asleep by the time we exit the bathroom.

The Crescent Moon pack spans halfway across Alaska. The population consists of mostly Werewolves but there are humans too. The humans and Were’s live together with no problems. While they do know about us, They don’t bother us and in return, we keep their community safe. Anyway, My beta, Kyle and best warrior, Hunter and I are running late due to rouge’s recently moving into an old house half a mile away from my border. We went to check it out but nobody was home. It’s probably a good thing because Luce-my wolf-has been restless all morning.
He calmed the minute we walked in the building, Barking and howling “Mate!” Loudly in my head. All because of the sweet scent of vanilla and roses. I followed the scent to my first hour. I threw open the door before scanning the room, cutting someone off from speaking. My eyes land on a small figure in front of the room. We lock eyes and the rest of the room fades away. Luce takes over just long enough to say “Mine” in a deep growl.
I don’t know how much time passes before the teacher speaks, breaking our concentration. “Nice of you to join us boys,” The girl blushes and quickly replaces a seat in the back. I walk to the back of the room and stop in front of her desk. She won’t meet my eyes again.

Kyle, Hunter, and I are running late again due to a short meeting. I want them to replace any and all information on my mate. Something seem’s off with her and I want to figure it out.
I’m happy to replace that she is in my next class as well. I pay no mind as the teacher comments on our tardiness. I stop momentarily at her desk and she briefly meets my eyes, before blushing and fixing her gaze on her desk.
I see my beautiful mate again at lunch. She is sitting alone on a bench under a tree out in the cold. Luce growls at this but grows angry when all she has is water. I sit and watch as she takes a pill and chugs down the rest of the water before pulling out a book. Before I become entranced I make my way to her only to be stopped by a Sidney.
Sidney is the pack slut. Her face is always covered in thick makeup and her uniform is pulled up making it extremely short. She sleeps around with all the willing un-mated male wolves and has been trying to get with me for months. I turn her down every time, saving myself for my mate. She starts to talk to me but I simply brush her off to continue my mission. When she grabs my arm Luce growls quietly in a warning. Her eyes widen and she lowers her head in submission.
I finally am able to go to my mate. I stand behind her for a few seconds before she jumps, hitting her knee on the bench. “Son of a buffalo,” she mutters quietly.
I’m unable to hide my laughter at her quiet yet angelic voice. “I must say, I’ve never heard that one before,” I say in a tone deeper than normal. She shivers before she puts her hands in her lap as her breathing comes faster. “I’m Jackson Matthews, What is your name Kitten?” I ask.
She cocks her head slightly before responding in a squeaky voice. “Ashley,” Just when I move to sit next to her she stands quickly. Her hand is shaking as she shoves the book she was reading into her bag. She tries to step out of the bench but I grab her arm making her flinch. Luce growls at her response but stops as spark like tingles shoot up my arm.
“P-please l-l-let m-me g-go,” she stutters. I tighten my grip slightly as I say, “Wait kitten, what’s wrong?”
She yanks out of my grip and sprints into the forest surrounding the school. I stand there confused for a few seconds before Luce growls “Go to Mate!”
I sprint after her and see her sitting against a tree. Her breathing come out in heavy pants. Her head is buried in between her knees which are tucked into her chest. She has formed herself into a little ball. Watching her rock back and forth, arms wrapped around her knees I hear faint sobs. I sit next to her and tuck her into my side. Luce sighs as sparks erupt against my side. Her sweet scent fills my nose.
I whisper sweet nothings until her heartbeat slows. Soon the only thing to be heard is the sounds of the forest and her ragged hiccups. “W-why d-did y-you c-come a-after m-me?” she stutters. “I’ll always come after you, love” I respond causing her to shiver. “T-thank y-you” Her response comes out muffled as she wipes her face with her sleeve. She stands, brushes off her skirt before grabbing her bag. Her stomach chooses now to growl loudly. Her cute face blushes and she wraps an arm around her middle. “What is your next class Kitten?” I ask and she looks at the ground “I-I’m fine” She mutters causing Luce to growl loudly. “Kitten” her eyes widen but she responds “F-free p-period” I grab her hand and pull her to the school “W-where a-are w-we going?” She squeaks. “We kitten, are going to get something for you to eat.” I internally chuckle when she responds with “B-but I already a-ate?” She protests the whole way to my car but she eventually quiets once she realizes I’m not giving up. I take her to McDonald’s and order her a burger and fries.
She eats one-fourth of the meal much to my disapproval, but I’m not forcing her to finish. We spend the rest of the time talking and I love every second. She looks out the window as she talks but pauses mid-sentence and gasps. “Everything alright love?” I question. “Y-yeah but c-can we g-go back to t-the school?” She stutters as her breathing speeds up again, causing me to look out her window. A car is parked a few spaces over and the person inside glares at my mate. “Sure Kitten,” I respond before driving us back to school.
