Chapter 215
Millie immediately rolled to the side, narrowly avoiding Kane’s dagger,
“Stop dodging!” he yelled in frustration.
Millie wasn’t foolish, of course, she would dodge his attack.
Kane fixed his gaze on Millie as she stood up. She pulled out a silver needle from her sleeve, gentlygrasping it between her fingertips.
Unable to get close to Millie, Kane shifted his attention to Cara, and she was stunned. Withouthesitation, he grabbed her arm and positioned her in front of him, holding the dagger to her neck.
“Get us out of here, or I’ll kill her!” Kane yelled at Millie.
Millie was taken aback by his actions. She reminded him, “Kane, she’s your wife. You’ve beenmarried for
many years.”
Nevertheless, Millie failed to understand that Kane only saw Cara as a means to have children.Cara’s inability to conceive made her worthless in his eyes. This realization was truly heart–wrenching.
“Stop talking nonsense and get us out of here,” Kane growled.
Millie glanced at the watch on her wrist. Judging by the time of the police call and the distance fromthe hospital, they should be arriving soon.
“Dr. Caldwell, please let us leave,” Cara said, tears streaming down her face. Millie was kind. Shetruly didn’t want Millie to be involved anymore.
Millie glanced out of the ward and noticed Lainey and the hospital security standing outside. Theentire crowd had already been evacuated, leaving only a few of them.
The faint sound of a police siren could be heard downstairs, causing Millie to take notice.
Kane also heard the sound outside. Realizing something was amiss, he exclaimed, “Did you callthe police?”
He was causing a disturbance at the hospital. Naturally, Millie had to call the police to ensureeveryone’s
safety.
“Not me,” Millie responded seriously.
“Do you really think I’ll believe you? You always enjoy meddling in other people’s business!” Kaneglared at her, the dagger inching closer to Cara’s neck.
“Tell the police to leave immediately, or I’ll kill her!”
Millie chuckled, unfazed by his threat. “Cara and I barely knew each other. She’s your wife. Whyshould I be concerned about whether you kill her or not?”
Millie sighed and casually sat on the bed, crossing her arms. “Go ahead and kill her. This is ahospital. We can just rescue her later.”
Kane was stunned. He never expected Millie to say that. Cara was crying, blood seeping from herneck.
He lashed out at Cara. “Bitch, did you see that? The doctor doesn’t even care about you anymore!”

Millie narrowed her eyes and exclaimed, “Kane, never underestimate women. Remember, you werealso
born of a woman.”
“Bullshit!” he cursed.
“It was true. Or did you just appear out of nowhere?” Millie rolled her eyes.
Just then, the police officers appeared at the door, causing Kane’s expression to freeze. The sightof the officers finally stirred some fear within him.
Millie observed the panic in his eyes and firmly said, “Release Cara now. There’s still room fordiscussion.”
The police officers approached him.
“Kane Olsen, put down the dagger!” one of them commanded.
Kane fixed his gaze on the police officers before turning his attention back to Millie. The tensiongrew as the two groups closed in on each other.
Suddenly, Kane let out a scream and pushed Cara onto the bed. Without hesitation, he lungedtoward Millie to stab her.
Cara’s eyes widened in shock. She quickly positioned herself protectively in front of Millie. In aninstant, the dagger plunged into Cara’s abdomen.
Blood began to pool on the floor. Without a hint of hesitation, Kane withdrew the dagger.
The officer shouted, “Kane Olsen!” The next second, he was pinned to the ground.
Kane yelled, “Let go of me!”
Millie pulled the bedsheet beside her and pressed it against Cara’s wound. Although she was aboutto panic, she still comforted Cara, “Don’t be scared.”
Cara held Millie’s sleeve and reassured her, “I’m not scared when you’re with me, Dr. Caldwell.”
She had been mistreated over the years. However, that all changed when she met Millie at thehospital.
Millie’s unwavering support deeply moved her. She encouraged her individuality, recognizing her as“Cara “, not solely as Kane’s wife.
