Chapter 321
“Don’t follow,” Winston warned Selma before dragging Millie out.
Selma halted in her tracks, feeling confused. Still, she believed Winston wouldn’t harm Millie. It wasclear they had something important to discuss.
After that, she quietly peered through the window and saw Winston pressing Millie against the pillarby the entrance.
Selma’s eyes lit up with excitement, and she couldn’t help smiling. She then returned to the couch, eagerly waiting for what would happen next.
Outside, Millie frowned. Her eyes were filled with hostility as she stared warily at Winston.
Meanwhile, Winston was visibly unsettled. His head hung low as he supported himself against thepillar with one hand.
He had something to say. However, when faced with Millie, he felt like he was choking on his words, unsure how to start.
“Millie, let me repeat myself.” Winston pursed his lips and gazed at Millie earnestly. “I did not acceptJoanna’s proposal last night.”
Millie’s expression remained cold. She already knew this, so why did he need to say it again?
“I’m going to replace Joanna now. Did you hear that?” asked Winston.
Millie remained indifferent. Her calm demeanor felt almost merciless as she answered, “Yes, I did.”
“Is that all?” Winston pressed.
Millie spread her hands and countered, “What else do you want me to say?”
She couldn’t shake the feeling that Winston was acting strange today.

Winston was momentarily speechless. As he gazed at Millle, a trace of helplessness flickered in hiseyes. “Winston, I’m a person with feelings. My heart isn’t made of stone,” Millie said seriously.
What gave him the right to assume she would always be there, pleading for his affection? Whatmade him believe that she would always love him?
“It’s over between us,” Millie reminded Winston.
He needed to stop acting superior around her. Now that she no longer loved him, his arrogance onlyfueled her disdain.
Winston’s right hand clenched into a fist, fury flashing across his face. Millie’s lack of responseenraged

Yet, Millie’s smile was all the answer he got. Indeed, she didn’t care about Winston anymore. Thequestion he had asked seemed absurd to her.
“So, you wouldn’t even care if I married Joanna now?” Winston’s voice was subdued but filled withrage.
Millie immediately looked up at him, and their eyes met. His face showed intense urgency.
Winston refused to believe that Millie didn’t care at all. However, her composed demeanor felt like aslap in his face.
“Mr. Greer, I don’t care,” Millie stated firmly.
Whoever Winston decided to marry was no longer her concern. Did he really think she would stillbeg for his affection?
Winston fell silent.
Millie pushed his hand away and said, “I won’t be going in. Tell Grandma that I’ll check her resultsfor her.” Having said that, she turned to leave.
Winston frowned, his frustration palpable. Right then, he reached out and grabbed Millie’s arm.
